CitznFish Posted August 2 Posted August 2 My launchbox is taking 5 to 10 minutes to load these days. I do not remember it being this slow previously. I'm loading about 5.5GB worth of games and it seems like LB is scanning everything every time it loads. I rarely turn on my machine these days but I am positive it was never like this previously. It's an older build from 2020 and the games are on a standard hard drive. Hardware: Intel i7 3770 8GB ram Nvidia 2060 rtx Windows 10 Maybe I need to upgrade the ram? But it was previously fine when I built this in 2020 Any ideas? Quote

One thing you can try is to disable automated imports (2 locations). Tools < Options < General < Automated Imports Tools < Manage < Storefronts... Quote
Taekwonty11 Posted August 13 Posted August 13 (edited) Having same issue on Version 14.0. Went back to Version 13.27 and it loads normally (much quicker) again. Edited August 13 by Taekwonty11 Quote

I updated to 14.0 tonight and it's loading quicker but mame games def are lagging. Galaga takes a good 45 seconds to load from hitting play. Quote

Then subsequent launches of MAME load quicker. Note, if you restart your computer, the next load (of MAME) counts as the 1st time-of-the-day. There is [now] also a v14.01-beta available. It's sort of a "hot fix" for 14.0. Though not sure if it will change what you're seeing, it does address several other issues. Quote

Vader Posted Monday at 04:06 AM Posted Monday at 04:06 AM Having the same issue too. I noticed that Big Box is taking up to 1 minute to load. It was down to about 30 seconds before 14.0. I've already disabled auto imports but that didn't effect anything. Quote
Maddoc1007 Posted Monday at 10:28 AM Posted Monday at 10:28 AM Am haveing the same issue also seems to be linked to the video doesnt matter what engine is used Bigbox when startup videos are allowed somewtimes remains black no video playing just a black screen, the when it eventully opens up the first platform it starts on the video refuses to start staying grey, move to the next platform viseo plays, move back the first video that refused to play then plays. Even this happens on a new build of Launchbox with startup video disabled first platform opens up with video grayed out not playing go to next platform video plays, go back to platform then video plays seems the video engines are not kicking in when Bigbox first launched. Latest update 14.1 Quote
