About This File

Hey all,

Wanted to give back another set of art to the community since I have collected so much from others. This set is similar in style to my other set that I previously released for Dreamcast. Its a front boxart in a "2.5D" style. For this pack I need to make note again the jewel case is not my creation but has been modified slightly for my tastes. I also need to mention the creator of this artwork (pre jewel case), Wally Wonka. He created and shared an excellent uniform PS1 set with matching PS1 labels for perfect uniformity. I have taken his 2D PS1 front boxart set and have applied the jewel case to them. Also a shout out to SomeGeezer for helping with Adobe Photoshop Actions making this process easier! In this pack it includes most all of the NTSC Sony Playstation retail games. It is missing all the Lightspan games (learning, language, math, etc. as the box art is hart to find and I felt most people wont care for those games as is) as well as demo discs. Everything else should be included but I am human so there is a chance a few oddballs slipped through the cracks... if you do see something missing or that is inaccurate please let me know. One last tidbit, there is a different case to match how multi disc games were released. Hope everyone enjoys these as it brings a more cohesive look to your collection along with my Dreamcast set!

Amazing set. Thanks!

Strider is the only box I can see that used the incorrect art. (Strider 2)

Do you happen to have the PSD that I could use to fix this? I'd also like to convert a couple games from Japan into NA release boxes for my personal collection.

Can you link me to the Strider art? The reason its set with Strider 2 is because if you google it, Strider was a pack in game with Strider 2, which is the reason for using that cover art :)

Can you release a template for this and your other packs? That way the community can add missing games and other regions.

First off, thanks a ton on behalf of everyone with OCD; having non-matching box art on my Playstation Classic was driving me nuts. This is the best looking and most complete box art pack I've seen for PSX. Second, I would like to point out two super obscure games that are missing: Superman (the port of Superman 64 which was completed in 2000 but never published due to licensing issues) and Magic Castle, a game that spent over 20 years in development hell until being finished by fans and released to the internet for free last year. Since you included the box art for Thrill Kill, it would be a good next step to add box art for other unreleased but completed games. I'm sure I'm not the only one obsessive enough to sniff those out.

This was my second set of art that I released and Thrill Kill made it in by mistake. I only do official games. This set also is not named with no-intro naming as it should be, I ought to reupload with the total released games (1286) and their correct naming. Therefore I wont be doing prototypes or unreleased games at this time.

There will be an update at some point in time though with some variations to box arts and how they were originally released.

Sounds good. For unreleased games, I downloaded a picture of a blank CD and used a handwriting font for the game titles so they look like bootleg burns. Also, one small note for an official release which maybe you can address in your update: Brave Fencer Musashi actually came in a multi-disc case because it included a demo disc for Final Fantasy VIII. I had a real copy as a kid and distinctly remember the fat case matching the ones for the Final Fantasy games. As far as I know, it was never re-released without the demo disc. I made a crude edit out of two of the box arts in this pack for a multi-disc Brave Fencer Musashi, but I'm sure you could do it better yourself.

Your 2.5D sets are my favourite by far, thanks for all your work :)

Is there any chance of you working on PSX PAL? would be forever even more grateful if so.

Sorry i used the review tab instead of comments...

A really nice simple pack very well done consistent ish look!

If i had to pick on anything it would only be as an example:

Oddworld_ Abe_s Exoddus-01.png VS Oddworld_ Abe_s Oddysee-01.png

Your cover temple without the extra spine inconsistency, and to tell you the truth both look good

as per mistaken review lolz i found RC Stunt Copter-01 the _Underscore_  got me 😉

I understand you have I.Q_ Intelligent Qube https://psxdatacenter.com/games/U/I/SCUS-94181.html and i did ask for a template for the 1999 sequel Kurushi Final: Mental Blocks (I.Q. Final in Japan) scps-10071 https://psxdatacenter.com/ntsc-j_list.html

BUT that was not released NTSC/U so all good keep up the very good work, you definitely have a new fan

and BTW thanks for the thrill kill cover.

Abe's Exodus is a duel CD jewel case, while Abe's oddysee is a single jewel case.  You may notice that the dual CD jewel cases all have that type of spine.  I see it as a way to determine which games have more than one disc...at a glance.

Yeah, games with multiple discs we're/are different as they were intended to be.

I am also most likely going to revamp this set as it was my second set and I didn't name the games using no intro. My personal set it correct so I need to fix it. I also may ad an option for the tall PS1 games/cases they used when the system was young.
