  1. Hey, Ever since I started using Game Discovery View (may or may not be relevant), when I open a platform, there's probably a 1 in 20 chance that the text in the game list is way too small - when I exit the view and re-enter it it is generally okay again. It seems more likely in some platforms than others. I'm using an adapted version of CoverBox Theme which I've modified quite a bit. The platforms that are more likely FWIW are TurboGrafx-16, N64, Gamecube, Wii, WiiWare and WiiU. My Amiga one occasionally which is built around the Atari Lynx view. Any ideas at all? It's not a massive problem but when I'm showing off I don't like to have to exit and enter a view again!! Pics attached showing the (wrong) small text list and the (right) big text list.
  2. Has it moved on at all since this post started? Bit gutted because I bought a licence yesterday based on my assumption that it was new and under development and on the basis that Launchbox is such a beautiful and well supported tool. If I thought Music Box was going to dawdle along I think I would've stuck with Music Bee.
  3. For anyone using Coverbox and wanting to add ZX Spectrum. Sinclair ZX Spectrum (TextGamesView).xaml Sinclair ZX Spectrum (TextListView).xaml
  4. Oh no! That makes sense, but as far as I can see, you can't apply a theme to Game Discovery Centre. EDIT: Yes you can! I put the amended file (with the normal file name (discoverypageview.xaml)) into the list of views in my chosen theme's "views" folder and it works! Thanks for your help!
  5. I've been tinkering with the xaml files for the Game Discovery Centre view. I love it first off, really could be a wonderful new feature and could become my new launch screen if I can change a few things. What's bothering me is the use of screenshots for the background of each game - the highscores one looks really cool, but the rest look a bit rubbish and would definitely look better to me with the fanart background used. Also the white border on selected game is cut off top and bottom on platforms and collections (it also flashes rapidly which I can't stand). I've tried reordering imagetype to put fanart first, I've reordered priorities for screenshots in Launchbox (I didn't really want to do this, but it didn't work anyway) and finally just went through changing imagetypes to completely wipe out any mention of screenshots and replacing with fanart-background. The changes I make stick (fanart for the backgrounds, the white border around selected item no longer flashes and the same white border isn't cut off top and bottom for platforms and collections) but when I restart Big Box I get a message in Notepad++ that another program has modified the file and Game Discovery Centre reverts to it's original flawed appearance. Scratching my head now. Any ideas as to where I'm going wrong? I'm a long long way from being an expert but I am a tenacious trial and error guy - this one's got me stumped though. I've got a working xaml but I just need Big Box to leave it alone when I open the program.
  6. Hi, everything you need can be found in here! CoverBoxPeteMod.7z
  7. Sometimes it's the easiest fix isn't it! Thanks. Feel a bit foolish, but running out of the house for work this morning meant I had no time to try anything, thanks for making it easy when I got in!
  8. My daughter was on the computer this morning and has caused some havoc. I don't know exactly what she had done but she's been trying to launch games from Bigbox and messed something up. Now neither of the executables launch the programs. I don't have a clue where to start.
  9. I would call for this too. Had to use an online converter for loads of backgrounds. Not a massive problem to convert but would save a lot of time.
  10. Thanks for the reply! I don't even remember posting this, but I don't seem to have the problem anymore. Sadly I can't tell you what I did (if anything) to solve it because I just don't remember!! Looks like I followed some advice above though?
  11. Based HEAVILY upon Faeran's Coverbox code, I have produced these three themes which aren't catered for in their collection. The Amiga one is a very minor modification of the Atari Jaguar theme, which I don't use, and the ScummVM and C64 ones are a background I designed and then created a frankenstein code for them using Coverbox. I don't use the Custom Theme Designer tool. If anyone wants the code or images used for them I am happy to upload. ALL credit to Faeran who did all the hard work, I love CoverBox.
  12. Problem sorted. Strange issue where once I'd mapped to another button and opened the menu in game, I then mapped the pause button to guide and it worked. So not a launchbox issue but a pcsx2 quirk.
  13. Bit perplexed. Running PCSX2 alone, I have the pause menu (PCSX one with game specific settings) mapped to my xbox one guide button. Works great. But it won't work through launchbox, if I map it to another button in pcsx2 it works via launchbox. Why is launchbox not recognising my guide button?
  14. Hi! Can anyone tell me where in the xaml files (I assume they're in there somewhere) the code which produces the platform splash screens are (The screen where the (ie) Neo Geo logo is displayed before the black screen withdraws to reveal the game wheel)? I'm hoping to add some for Amiga, Scummvm and Commodore 64. I would also like to tweak the audio file used during the Wii splash screen as it's cut short by my game music. I'm no expert, but I'm pretty good at copying/pasting/tweaking/trial and error....I've made quite a few mods already and ALWAYS keep a working backup
  15. I'd vote for this, too. Or just for it to stick when I copy/paste the path rather than HAVING to browse for the location. Really annoying.
  16. Hi, I know this isn't really an issue with Launchbox itself but I've had great help here before and I'm hoping someone's come across this: I've set up retroarch with the desmume core to launch through Launchbox. I wanted my xbox wireless controller to control the touchscreen with the right stick so I ran a DS Rom and entered the menu, changed the mapping for "current content" to emulate mouse on right thumbstick. The right thumbstick now controls a crosshair on the lower screen and I can press on the screen, but I can only control it up and down, I can't move it along the X axis. I have the same issue when I set it to the left thumbstick. Any ideas?
  17. Perfect! Looks like that's problem solved (for me) then, I don't use a controller in Launchbox itself. (incidentally I tried playing a scummvm game with it checked and I got the same old problems - turned it off again and they're gone)
  18. I fooled with the drivers last night and nothing helped....but OK. I have had no issues for a while now. I think it was the controllers business. It was checked, but no controller specified (I use a Xbox One controller connected by USB when needed because I can't seem to get it to stick on BT). I'll keep it open to see if anything changes. Forgive my ignorance but can I still use a controller with that unchecked? Can I play games with a controller without the issues returning?
  19. I had Enable Game Controllers checked, but not Use All Attached Controllers. I've unchecked Enable Game Controllers to see what happens, but obvs I do use a controller and I'm pretty sure that's always been checked. I did a virus scan with Windows Defender last night because it screamed virus to me too. Results were clean and why would it only happen when Launchbox is open (this is definitely the case). You think I should d/l a better anti-virus software? No weird activity since I unchecked Enable Game Controllers......but it's early days......
  20. Update Reinstalled MusicBee and moved icons on my taskbar. The program my computer is asking to open uninvited is now Launchbox itself....which is already open of course. My mouse pointer also periodically jumps from one place on screen to another. No problems occur with Launchbox closed. Please help! I've spent days sorting my set up out - must be a setting I've changed or something I've added but I don't see anything that's relevant!
  21. OK. I know I'm going to get a load of people telling me this isn't happening but it definitely is. It began with BigBox, every time I closed it, my wireless mouse wouldn't work and I had to unplug and reattach the USB receiver to get it going again. However, since yesterday when Launchbox is open, I get periodic (every 20mins or so) User Account Control requests to open a particular program (it was MusicBee, to the point I uninstalled it, now it's another program). Also, my mouse is randomly stopping and my (wireless Logitech) keyboard acts as though the ctrl button is pressed (this is solved by ctrl+alt+del and simply exiting again), but these things ONLY HAPPEN while Launchbox is open. I can provide any more info you need, but this is very irritating as it happens while I am running emulators too.
  22. Ah, right you are. Sorry about that. The listing on Wikipedia as PAL and the Mega Drive 2D cover on gamesdb threw me. Cheers! (Nice job btw)
