Oh man that will help a lot!! Thank you!! I found a theme I have but it’s from an old Huperapin set up so there’s no mp4 video. I haven’t been able to even see it either because the game must not be in my Hyperspin database.

Just wondering if anyone has a theme for the Ms Pac-Man Speed Up Hack. I'm currently using the regular Ms Pac-Man for both.

Disregard. Switched back to FFMeg and ran for 3 hours also. I never used to get crashes and haven’t had time to test thoroughly. I know one of the previous updates like 4-5 ago there was constant crashing but they fixed it and I had no crashing. Now I get occasional crashes. Hopefully the team can look into this and I can get more time to test.

Just wanted to update this. I switched back to WMP and no crashes for 3 hours so far.

I posted a debug log in the beta section because mine was doing the same thing. Never used to until the update before this one. Hopefully it’s fixed soon.

Beta seems to have fixed the issue using ffme

The beta version seems to have fixed the issue from what I can tell. I only ran it 3 1/2 hours but it didn’t freeze. It used to freeze after about an hour and a half.

So after 3 1/2 hours no freezing!!! Definitely seems better!!

Ok I’ve never downloaded a beta before but since I’m one the ones who machine keeps freezing after an hour or 2 I will test this out. Just downloaded it and Bigbox is running. I will update in a couple hours. Using refied theme.

I am not running the beta yet but did update the codecs mentioned in this thread to see if that would help but still freezing after a couple hours.

While Bigbox freezes a lot quicker using VLC it will still freeze after a while using WMP. My system never used to freeze. Also want to note I randomly get an error now about being out of memory when I am able to exit clean.

Hope they figure this out soon. I’ve tried both VLC and WMP but both freeze after a while. Never used to freeze at all. I also get random memory error when exiting. Like couldn’t save out of memory when exiting Bigbox

So we had a party tonight and the machine froze 4-5 times. Again this never use to happen at all. I will be using my old Hyperspin for parties until this issue is resolved.

Also wanted to note when I exit Bigbox I now get an error saying out of memory which I had never gotten before. Guessing it’s related.

I’m using unified refried theme and it’s set up to run looking like Hyperspin. Ran for a couple hours then went to check and it was stuck on the main menu wheel on Colecovision. I had one time earlier exiting Teknoparrot it was stuck but I could hit a mouse button and it regained focus and was ok but not this time. I used to let my machine run for hours wit no problems at all.

I had the same issue using VLC and windows media player everything would freeze after a couple minutes. I never had it freeze before but then realized I did two things. I updated to 13.19 but I also for the first time used the video scraper plugin which downloaded webm or web something video files. I moved all the web files to another folder and the freezing stopped for me.

Second time running it after the update and froze again after a little more than an hour. ***Update - I was using WMP and switched to VLC but same issue after about 20 minutes. I've attached the log. Debug 2025-02-15 09-12-02 PM.log

I just update to 13.9 and let Bigbox run and after a couple hours it froze. I tried clicking the mouse and a windows error popped up saying Bigbox is not responding so I closed it. Hope this isn’t a common issue. I’ve ran Bigbox for hours previously with no problems.

I've had this happen in Hyperspin where Retroarch was muted in windows sound settings. I think it was when I used Rocketlauncher and the pause menu. Haven't had this happen in Launchbox before.

Have you tried deleting both platforms and starting over with Mame/Arcade? That's what I do when a platform is causing me an issue.

I also have noticed this. Black screen on startup then back to windows desktop. It used to go to black screen but if I hit a button it would go to the wheel. Now it just crashes back to desktop but I have no task bar. Doesn’t happen all the time but definitely is frustrating.

Wow! Long time Hyperspin user that finally had to switch to Bigbox because of all the updated features and controller support. My Bigbox looks just Hyperspin like most but the two things that really bother me about Bigbox is the wheels that sometimes take a bit to load and sometimes the start up videos just show black. If Hyperspin 2 is as smooth as the first one I would probably switch back. I’m sure it won’t be perfect either but there’s nothing worse than showing off your collection and the game wheels are blank.
