  1. I'm not seeing Nintendo 64DD in the list of platforms in beta 4:
  2. Sorry if this is a stupid question, but what does this part mean? Additional Apps on a Network Share should once again download and play Are apps different from Roms? Is there something other than roms we can store on our NAS?
  3. The latest beta release includes an orientation lock, so this thread is definitely a win 👍
  4. So I installed the beta and it works great ❤️ The portrait lock seems to work great too, the loading screen will start loading in the system orientation and switch after a few seconds: https://photos.app.goo.gl/kuorQa6sCdcSBs8X9
  5. Yeah app doesn't open for me anymore, I'm hoping for an APK link when the next beta releases so I can upgrade with that.
  6. Wow what an update ❤️ From having so many crashes to having none. I love all the little tweaks and changes with this update. I'll report if I find anything else but so far it's great. Appreciate the LaunchBox team and Community so much.
  7. Thanks, I did try to preview them in Windows but couldn't find it. I'll have another look now that I know that the functionality does exist. Thank you.
  8. So based on what @AstroBob said above, does anyone have any recommendations for NAS drives that I can use with Android Launchbox that I can download games when I'm on a different network to my NAS drive? I currently use the Nvidia Shield 2017 and I want to upgrade to a newer NAS. Any recommendations appreciated.
  9. Thanks for posting this Vader, I could see an official post for the Windows Beta but not Android. Like you I'm also seeing alot of crashes with my Pixel 8 Pro. I had one crash that no matter how many times I closed the app from the memory it wouldn't start again until after I restarted my device. The app crashes are probably the worst thing about the app. I was getting app crashes before this beta but the beta has increased them. It's a shame that the YouTube links can't be dynamic and just be searches to pick up on fresh content. As it currently is, I think I'll stick to using EmuMovies downloads. YouTube videos is a nice option but just not reliable enough, the limitation to not being able to play music is probably the killer for me. Thank you team for listening to my feedback and adding Sega Triforce ❤️Appreciate the Launchbox Team for how open and receptive they are to the community.
  10. Hi @AstroBob I was wondering because you said that the biggest issue with this is the dependency. Could you have this NAS feature just support non merged sets of MAME games so each game doesn't have any dependency? That's right isn't it? Non Merged sets are bigger because they include everything that a game needs to play right? So when you download a single game from the NAS it wouldn't need anything else for it to work?
  11. Hi again, before I request this feature in the feedback section, I just wanted to know if it's possible from the Android Devs. So when you long press on certain Android apps, if they're set up for it you get shortcuts. As seen on my Discord app here: These are the my last viewed Discord forums and pressing any will jump me straight to that section of the app. I was wondering if Launchbox could do the same, remembering, and displaying shortcuts to my most recently played games in a list, but instead of opening the game page on Launchbox when pressed, it would open the game straight in the emulator (Retroarch, Dolphin ect) to save time and resources of first having to open Launchbox? I'm not sure if the shortcuts can open other apps or if there's a workaround you could do? Would be a great feature if you could and be a great time saver. Thanks 🙂
  12. I like to mix and match my platform theme videos, is there a way that I can watch them all so I can see which is the best video for every platform? On Android the app restarts everytime I apply one so takes forever switching one out to see another one.
  13. Is it because it needs typing as one word? That being said my ROM is typed as one word and that's not picking it up.
  14. Thanks for the reply, I do want to learn more about the LaunchBox DB but don't know alot currently. When I search for Star Fox I see a European front box as the second image? But when I search for Star Wing I just get a Promotional cartridge: Why would Star Wing not show up in search when it's listed as a Alternative title to Star Fox? I would assume that it would also search for alternate titles in the search?
  15. Hi again, I was wondering if these platforms: Nintendo Satellaview and Sega Triforce Arcade will one day become import options on Launchbox Android like they are on LaunchBox Windows. I know that these platforms can be added to the SNES and GameCube sections as they use the same emulators, but I wondered if there's any plans to have them as separate platform options like other Android front ends like ES-DE and LaunchBox Windows does? I personally like to have them separate; for Triforce because it's controlled very different from GameCube with it being an Arcade cabinet and for Satellaview because the artwork is harder to source and I don't want the look of my SNES sections looking baren. Thank you.
  16. Hi all, So what's the correct way to get Launchbox to choose the correct artwork and game title for the correct region of my game? This is one of many examples but my Rom is titled as Star Wing (Europe), I selected Europe as the Region tp prioritise and Launchbox has given me the US title and US artwork of Star Fox. I know I can fix this, game by game in Launchbox but how can I stop this from happening in the first place? Thank you.
  17. This issue is resolved in the latest stable update, thank you 🙏
  18. Thank you for adding this in the latest update, it works perfectly and I'm a big fan ❤️
  19. This has been fixed in today's stable release 👍
  20. That's good to know, thank you AstroBob 👍
  21. Hi, so with what I've found with the new NAS feature on Android, it only seems to find my NAS when I'm on the same WIFI network with my Android device as my NAS. Is this true for all setups or just mine? If this is the case, could this potentially be upgraded in the future? Also, the Android Launchbox app won't wake up my NAS when it's gone to sleep and I have to use a third party file manager to wake it up first. Again is this expected or just my set-up and if it is true could this potentially be upgraded in the future? Thank you for your time.
  22. There are a couple of things that I think would greatly improve the first time set-up for Android Launchbox. I have two feature requests to improve the onboarding experience: Firstly I think it would be better to have persistent background downloading of images videos. Currently what I have to do is change my phone/device screen timeout to 30 minutes and not use my device for the time it takes to update all of the media from each platform. This is massively time consuming for both small and large libraries. With the Launchbox competitor 'Beacon' (not as good as Launchbox), they have a persistent background service that keeps on working even when a different app is being used. This would be a great addition for Launchbox to keep it in memory whilst other phone stuff is being used: And I also like how another competitor ES-DE (not as good as Launchbox) works on Android. In the set-up flow of the app they give you empty, platform named folders to place all your roms in. This takes away all of the effort of manually adding every single platform one by one how Launchbox currently does it. It's just copy and paste with a file manager and once this has been done once you don't have to do it again because you can reuse the same folders with every setup. ES-DE recognises what every folder should contain, and this comes in handy when setting up RetroArch and downloading media as it knows what region (eg; sega32x, sega32xjp, sega32xna) and platform the folder is for and needs to pull media for without selecting inside the settings when adding a platform. I know something similar has recently been released for Launchbox for Windows where you can add many platforms at once and it would be great for the same folder structure to be recognised by both Launchbox in Windows and Android. You could in fact keep both methods, still allow the current manual single platform importing but just important into one of these predefined, named folders, and have the new multi platform way just a copy and paste away. This could keep everyone happy. With adding these features, it would combine the best features from all of the Android frontend's into one app. Thanks for all you do 🙂
  23. Introduced a new "Download Game" option for games imported from a network share, enabling users to download games independently of playing them This is really cool, I left feedback requesting it and I'm really happy you added it so thank you very much. The cancel button doesn't seem to work when trying to download from a Network drive that hasn't been woken up. I have to use a third party file manager to wake up my network drive before using LaunchBox to download my games. The application freezes when trying to download games from my network drive when it hasn't been woken up. (My Network drive is the Nvidia Shield 2017) Like someone else said as well, there is no idea how long any of the downloads will take as the bar fills up instantly with only the MB/s giving any idea that the download is still running. Added the ability to delete the local version of a game while maintaining its availability over the network This is also useful, Seems to work really well. Perfect for mobile with limited storage. Increased network buffer size to potentially improve download speeds for game files from network shares This makes a huge difference, night and day difference how much quicker games download. Before I was thinking if it was worth hosting my games on a NAS drive but this part of the update has convinced me. Resolved an issue where downloading EmuMovies videos could cause the application to crash I'm still having issues with downloading EmuMovies videos, this might be because I'm on a beta version of Android 15 on my Pixel 8 Pro. Downloading videos from EmuMovies works fine on my Windows machine and I'm a LifeTime supporter.
  24. Brilliant, didn't know that existed. Thank you.
