  1. Yes, the new theme is a bit slower than the old one; it's just more hardware intensive. You can just keep using the old theme, or you can try this theme that removes the shadows and improves performance a bit:
  2. Edit the playlist in LaunchBox. Make sure it's placed in the root like this:
  3. You can switch to the old theme in the settings. Under Tools > Options > Visuals.
  4. Hmm, can you by chance give us a screenshot of what you're seeing in Big Box? That might help to determine exactly what's going on. If I had to take a stab in the dark, I would say that it's likely being caused by a conflicting app or a broken driver update, so you can try closing any background apps first to see if that helps, and perhaps check for driver updates.
  5. New Default Performance View File The 10.9 update should resolve most performance issues, but for users with older systems or who just prefer to have maximum scrolling performance in LaunchBox, several versions of the new default theme are available here with shadows and/or background blurring disabled. 6. This is the closest I've come to an explanation on what's likely going on here. Thanks for this; at least it helps us identify what's happening (in a valid scenario that we don't already know is impossible). It would help to know what platforms and games anyone in this thread is experiencing this on.
  7. You've certainly expressed your thoughts on this Monkus, and I know them well. Regardless, the sky is not falling. That seems like it would really clutter up the bottom bar. There isn't enough room for that on all screens. I would put in settings for it, but that would be a major job because we don't have theme-specific settings anywhere else, so that would have to be built. Regardless, just the fact that free users now have two themes available (which is new functionality, mind you) is a great addition.
  8. Yes, but you can always go back to the old theme as well, so... The free version has always had limitations.
  9. I just ran a test and it is indeed the shadows around the boxes that are slowing down the scrolling performance in the new theme. I like the shadows, so I don't want to just remove them from the default theme, but I can certainly upload a theme with the shadows removed for people who aren't happy with the performance.
  10. Scrolling performance is slightly less, yes, primarily due to the shadows that are rendered with the new view. However, taking 5 to 15 seconds to render the box view definitely should not be a thing. Maybe it's populating the image cache?
  11. The dynamic resizing just makes everything the same width, and adjusts the height spacing based on what's needed. In the future, we may allow you to change the width via the slider on a per-platform basis, which I'm guessing is what you're requesting here.
  12. What's your hardware look like @strizzuth? The new theme is more demanding on hardware, but obviously the difference shouldn't be that extensive.
  13. Okay, I figured. This thread is exclusive to the Android version, so nothing here really applies to the Windows version. I don't think there are any issues with launching Redream on Windows; the default configuration should work fine. You might have better luck starting up a new thread or searching for a thread outside of the Android forum.
  14. Beta 7 is out now, which lets free users switch to the old default theme. I'm planning on putting out the official release tomorrow morning. I don't like making changes this close to release, but I didn't feel like I had much of a choice. Any testing you guys can do would be very much appreciated.
  15. Nope. It won't affect any of your game data. It's a local cache of the metadata on the LaunchBox Games Database, and if it gets corrupted, it can cause issues like this.
  16. Hmm, I see. Maybe it was a corrupted metadata download. Try deleting the following files while LaunchBox is closed: LaunchBox\Metadata\Files.xml LaunchBox\Metadata\Mame.xml LaunchBox\Metadata\Metadata.xml Hopefully that will fix it.
  17. Thank you @alexposad. I have the translation in. I was planning on releasing the official version today, but I think I'm going to put it off for tomorrow. Free users can't currently switch back to the old default theme, which I think is probably cause for drama if we put it out as-is.
  18. Dealing with that much, you may want to go system by system, or use the importer inside of Android instead.
  19. Hadn't seen this until now. Unfortunately this does mean that one of your XML files is corrupt, which can on rare occasions happen when the app is killed. You should have automatic backups available in the LaunchBox\Backups folder, which should be relatively easy to restore. Just restore one of them to your LaunchBox\Data folder, and overwrite the existing files. Or, if you can still run LaunchBox, you can use the built-in restore utility.
  20. There is a plugin for LaunchBox that allows uploading multiple games/images to the database. Yes, it is allowed. Unfortunately it can be abused, but it's been a rare occurrence in the past.
  21. It's hard to say what exactly is happening here. Are you being prompted to delete the files?
  22. Hi horizon, noted. I'll see if I get that request from other people as well, and I can add it if it's a common request.
  23. The background blur does not affect performance. It's the rounded corners and shadows that affect scrolling performance. As far as I'm aware, there are no changes that should affect performance outside of scrolling the boxes. Performance is always a tough thing to measure though, so it was probably just something else affecting the performance. Most likely there will be a custom theme made and shared soon after the release that will remove the blur. I wanted to release today, but I'm currently on the fence about whether to hold off and somehow provide an option for free users to use the old theme (mainly for performance reasons), or to just go ahead and release it. I know some people can be really, really picky about stuff like this. Unfortunately I may have to delay the release.
