Sadly I don't think PS3 runs Android. At this point, it's only for Android-based devices.

The Google Play store is actually pretty amazing in that regard. Most of the time it's practically instant. No actual humans are involved in the process, which has its positives and negatives, for sure, but it does mean that it's pretty much instant after I release it. Apple on the other hand...

You're reading my mind. This is part of the current plans for the export process, though it's not currently color-coded. I will let everyone in this thread know when a beta version of the app is available on the Play store. Music Box Alpha's progress is not nonexistent. In the last year, we've added metadata editing (a big job), CD ripping (a big job), three different music playback engines (a big job), Fanart.tv support (a big job), and a whole bunch of other, smaller things. You're barking up a nonexistent tree with useless negativity. It's not a matter of being rude, or how "nicely" you complain. You're complaining about things that are beyond your understanding, and just spreading toxic negativity here. Nothing you've said is helpful, and again I would ask that you stop. I could explain to you many things in more detail, but I have a feeling it would just fall on deaf ears. The first version will be more like LaunchBox than Big Box, but we'll definitely be adding Big Box-like views and features soon after. On Android it will all be contained in one app. Early on, it will be available for $5. All licenses will be forever-updates licenses on Android, no subscription model. Later on, once it's more fully-featured, we may up the price to $10.

For anyone who hasn't seen the posts on Facebook/Twitter, here's a sneak peak of LaunchBox running on the nVidia Shield TV: And one of my Galaxy Tab S2:

Please keep in mind that nothing would ever come out if we tried to do everything under the sun all at once. Version 1 for Android is shaping up well and you'll be able to export your desktop collection, as it is, to Android. A sync may be possible eventually, but to call it a useless waste just because it's still in development is pretty far beyond ignorant. Please stop spewing useless negativity.

New Install CRT with Groovymame CRT EMU Driver
Jason Carr replied to adams_arcade's topic in Troubleshooting
Yes, themes are available for free, and Big Box is definitely what you're looking for there. Do keep in mind though that not all themes will work well on your CRT, but there are some that will. However, you can't configure everything in Big Box. Big Box is mainly just for displaying and running your games on your cab or in your home theater. So you'll still need to configure stuff in LaunchBox with a more usable screen. -
New Install CRT with Groovymame CRT EMU Driver
Jason Carr replied to adams_arcade's topic in Troubleshooting
Unfortunately no, not currently. Big Box should work decently well (or at least it will with an appropriate theme), but LaunchBox is not designed for such a small resolution. What you can do though, is set everything up on another computer with a normal monitor, and then just copy the LaunchBox folder over to the other machine to use with Big Box. -
Just to be clear, we will not be taking this approach, as we support more than just the No-Intro formats. On top of that, this would require massive rewrites of many things, so I don't believe it would be time well spent compared to other features that people have voted for. We will not be switching to a strictly No-Intro approach. A missing ROMs feature could be implemented that just compares against no intro lists, but it's not likely to be a popular enough request right now for that to happen soon. Regardless, it would not require converting everything to strict no-intro.

I am aware of this issue; it's on my list to fix, though I will admit that it might be a while because it's currently competing with LaunchBox development.
-
@JedExodus I'm pretty sure nothing really changed with the startup screens for the 9.10 release, so I'm doubtful that the issue has anything to do with the 9.10 release. I'm betting that it would still happen with previous releases. Unfortunately, the startup screens can be sensitive to bad drivers and sometimes even background applications; I can't really say for sure what would be causing it on your system, unfortunately. Most likely it's being caused by one of those things. As much as I'd love to fix that for everyone in all situations, I really can't; I held off on implementing startup and pause screens for ages because there's no way to implement them without using hacks, so naturally, we just have to deal with the occasional issue like this. I would first try making sure that you're drivers are all up to date. Video drivers especially.

Not a bad idea; I will add that to my list.

Launchbox not recognizing IPac enter (left control)
Jason Carr replied to blakemoyer's topic in Website/Forum Support
@blakemoyer Not sure if you're still struggling with this, but you can always reset the settings in Big Box by deleting the LaunchBox\Data\BigBoxSettings.xml file. -
Unfortunately I don't plan on tackling a joy-to-key-like solution any time soon. It would be a major undertaking and it didn't seem to gather much positive interest in the brainstorming live stream.
-
Sure, let us know when it's ready to go and I'm sure we can help you get it oriented.
-
Thanks @Retro808; I didn't see this until after I posted the above. But yeah, it's super easy.
-
I see. The good news is that I do plan on tackling more marquee options relatively soon, regardless of the results. Mostly because I'm working on getting a marquee for my own cab. It's also worth noting that the theming engine is extremely flexible, so the modifications you would need in order to put marquee images on only a portion of the marquee screen (however it's oriented) would actually be really easy to pull off. I could most likely do it in 10 minutes or so, and so could most of the theme developers we have around here. So worst case scenario, I can just help you get it done and we can post it on the forums for anyone else in that same situation. I think part of the trouble we're having here is just nothing being clear about what people really still need with marquees.
-
What exactly are you missing for your cab? This came out of the blue as your first post and just comes off as straight fanboyism. I'm glad you like Hyperspin, but absolutely nothing you've said tells me *why* you like Hyperspin better. Tell me why, and I'll either help you to figure out what you're missing, or at least consider adding what you're missing.

HELP! Big box and Super-Ultrawide Support
Jason Carr replied to sbslc2017's topic in Troubleshooting
@sbslc2017 I'm honestly not sure why that's happening, but in the past, stuff like that has been caused by faulty or outdated video drivers. Can you try to see if there are any driver updates available for your video card? -
I always look at BitBucket in detail before coming up with the poll items. All of the highly voted items from BitBucket were definitely on the brainstorming list.
-
There's not much difference between adding Steam Banners to that Image Group drop down or not if you're missing images. If you don't have Steam banners for everything, they won't show up anyways. It's actually not a quick job to add Steam banners there. Not hard, but the code changes would be significant.
-
@Pixel Each image category has it's own set of priorities, as @Retro808 shared above. Step 1, alter your image priorities for Box Front to put Steam banners on top. Step 2, select your platform in LaunchBox. Step 3, use the Image Group drop down in the top right of the main LaunchBox interface to select Boxes for that platform. Step 4, select all your games and then right click and select Refresh Selected Images. That last step is only required after changing the image priority settings. It's probably just best to refresh all images in your collection after changing image priority settings.

Over 30% of our user base wants an Android version. I've never tackled poll items in perfect order; that's not how development works. I'm tackling Android now for quite a few reasons: It requires some structural changes that need to be done earlier rather than later (so they don't take more time later) It's going to be an ongoing project, so I feel like I should get started on it soon I'm excited about it The poll results mean everything; the top 20 features will be the features that I focus on for the next year or so. Stop casting such a negative light around here please; it's just unmerited and unnecessary, and doesn't do anyone any good.
-
The feature set between Android and Windows is far too different to really do a proper back and forth sync. That might be possible in the distant future, but not for the time being. Let's turn those bones to dust.

Eventually, yes, I am hoping so, using the Xamarin version of XAML, which is very similar to WPF's version.
