  1. @Retro808 Of course, I can't replicate it. My setting was set to auto, and tried all the other options and none of them caused issues. So, hmm.
  2. As of beta 10, which just came out, we now have game controller features in .Next. There's only two items left, which should go fairly quickly: Custom spacing options (with # of text lines too) Mouse cursor popup options I should be able to implement these this week, and then we'll look to put out the next official release. Assuming all goes as expected, the 8.4 release will be the last official release to contain OG LaunchBox.
  3. Beta 10 is out now with game controller support for LaunchBox.Next (finally). I took a slightly different approach than OG LaunchBox, but I believe this provides much better accessibility throughout. Basically, the controller just acts as the standard Windows mouse cursor. The buttons can still be assigned to do the same various tasks, sans for two of them: full screen (which doesn't exist and isn't planned to since .Next is already full screen when you turn off the sidebars) and top menu, which is pretty much irrelevant. @MadK9 Any update on that issue you were having? @kmoney I'm not sure if your issue is the same as @MadK9's. It sounds like it's not showing in the list at all for him, though I could be wrong. I haven't been able to replicate .Next not scrolling to the new game though. Does it happen every time for you? @Retro808 That's an odd one. The only thing I can figure is some kind of darn video driver bug, but if it's freezing .Next, there may still be something I can do to get around it. The problem is figuring out where it's happening in the code. I'll at least see if I can replicate it by changing MAME.
  4. Honestly, no, it's not at all easy to implement lol. There are a lot of features on the to-do list that are very useful and supposedly "small and easy to implement". The point of the playlists is to group your games as you wish, not to watch them in order. I see the value in that feature, but this is the very first time that that request has come in, so I'm doubtful that it would be a very common request.
  5. That is not currently a feature. Honestly I don't think it would be a common request, but feel free to request it using Help & Support > Request a Feature in the header. Keep in mind that this thread is for missing features in LaunchBox.Next that are in the original LaunchBox. Let's try and keep this thread focused on that.
  6. @voicesinthedark Hehehe. @kerszr I may do them on occasion still going forward, but being the hermit that I am it got to be a bit too much and I kept getting burned out.
  7. For what it's worth, I fixed the zero volume issue in the latest beta. It no longer defaults to zero volume. Are you referring to a games playlist or a music playlist?
  8. What are you building exactly? I might be able to help with a better solution if I know what the purpose is.
  9. Unfortunately I don't think this is possible at current. You can always create an additional app and set it to auto-run before launching the game, but I don't believe it supports the command line parameters that you're looking for. If you're building an app that interfaces with emulators, why not just use the app as the emulator in LaunchBox and then have your app fire off the emulator EXE?
  10. @MadK9 Are you on Windows 7 by chance?
  11. Beta 9 is out now with the following: Fixing LaunchBox.Next volume control zero by default for upgraders (will override everyone's volume control to 75% on first launch) Reduced the LaunchBox.Next background caching thread count so it doesn't get in the way as much when navigating the interface Fixed LaunchBox.Next recursive welcome and add games windows opening and refusing to close on Windows 7 Fixed the LaunchBox.Next top menu drop down arrows on Windows 7 Improved the LaunchBox.Next volume control usability by adding mouse wheel as well as arrow key support Added additional music playback formats for music and background music Removing a game from a playlist in LaunchBox.Next no longer resets to the All view Removed the System node from the Options window in LaunchBox.Next, because it is no longer relevant
  12. Nice, @neil9000. I forgot about that lol.
  13. Maybe make sure auto play music is enabled in the View menu? Does other music play?
  14. I've confirmed that .sid files are playing just fine in .Next. Even before my latest changes, they were playing. Can you look into it to ensure that the game is showing a .sid file in the Music path field in the Edit dialog? VLC plays the music in LaunchBox, .Next, and Big Box.
  15. Just did this for the next beta. Sorry it took so long...
  16. @Solo187 I went ahead and added .sid into the background music scanner and such, so now those formats should be automatically picked up in the next beta. Not sure what issue you were running into, but it should at least be more clear now.
  17. Hi @Solo187, I just got around to looking into the .sid music thing, but it seems to be working fine for me. Can you explain in more detail what issue you're seeing?
  18. Yes, most likely the confusion is just coming from the image cache. Keep in mind that if you manually add or remove images, you have to refresh the cache for that game before the changes are necessarily reflected.
  19. Alright, I think I might have an idea as to what's going on. Thanks for all the feedback and the discovery work. I do think it's mostly a result of hardware slowness/delays (which is why I'm not seeing it on my main machines), but ultimately I think it's being caused by invoking the game controller code to the main application thread, which I don't do for the keyboard, so that explains that. It's not necessarily going to be an easy fix, because removing those invokes will likely cause some errors until I figure them all out and resolve them all, but at least I now know what's going on and I can work on getting it resolved. Thanks all.
  20. Also, just to confirm, I assume everyone is at least on the latest official release? 8.3?
  21. Just out of curiosity, what themes and views are you guys using when you're experiencing the lag? I have to be missing something here. Also, by chance, is anyone able to record a video of it lagging? Just so I can see exactly what's happening. So far we've ruled out driver versions, and hardware doesn't seem to be the issue (though having only 8GB of RAM can cause some serious lag, depending on the theme and the view).
  22. I just tested this in both OG LaunchBox and .Next and Steam videos downloaded fine for both. Are you seeing it on imports or using Download Metadata and Media?
  23. Very soon, though it's worth noting that controllers are always much better suited to Big Box, of course.
  24. I'm not quite sure what you mean; I ran it through a translator and unfortunately it didn't make sense. Can you rephrase?
  25. I'll probably do a combination of the mouse scroll wheel and the arrow keys.
