  1. Are you able to run RetroArch manually?
  2. @BrBybee What happens if you try to run LaunchBox\Core\BigBox.exe instead of LaunchBox\BigBox.exe?
  3. Good to hear. If we can confirm from a couple other people, I'll push to get out the official 12.3 release. Thanks guys for helping us with this.
  4. Beta 2 is out now with a hopeful fix for the corrupted downloads issue that some people are seeing with the RetroArch installs.
  5. Alright, beta 2 is out now which I'm hoping will fix the issue for people. Please let me know. See my post further up in this thread if you need help updating to the beta release. @cleverest @ospideyo @mschoneman @mauley @elyria @slider6996
  6. Currently building a new beta/setup that should hopefully fix the issue. Stay tuned.
  7. Okay, boom. Thanks for that info. I believe this just means we're getting a corrupted download, which helps me to figure out what's going on. I have some ideas to help with that. Thanks again for your help. I should have a new beta out soon.
  8. Okay awesome. What happens if you try to use 7-Zip to extract it yourself? Does it work without errors? Also, what is the size of the file?
  9. So this is really strange. 7-Zip is just failing to extract the archive with a bunch of data errors. The file that was downloaded is here: K:\F DRIVE BACKUP\G Backup info\LaunchBox\Metadata\Temp\50e9f9c9-8b39-4934-9500-1b70ef97ea82.7z That file should be the downloaded RetroArch installation archive. It is in the temp folder though, so it will probably be deleted when LaunchBox is closed down/restarted. I guess one thing to check would be if that file is a corrupted download or not. Do you still have that file on your disk?
  10. @mschoneman @cleverest @mauley @elyria @slider6996 I just put out 12.3-beta-1, which should help us figure out what it is going on here. If you can, we could really use your help to troubleshoot this. Please go to Tools > Options > Updates in LaunchBox and check the box to update to beta releases. Then you can go to Help > Check for Updates to download the beta release. There's nothing new in this beta release other than some additional logging, which we'll need in order to troubleshoot what's going on. Once you're updated, please go to Tools > Options > Debugging and check the box to enable debug logs. Then you can run the RetroArch installer/updater to reproduce the issue. Once you've reproduced it, there will be log files in your LaunchBox\Logs folder. If you can share your latest log with us, that should help us to pinpoint this issue.
  11. Hey all, the first 12.3 beta is out now here:
  12. Hi all, the first 12.3 beta is out now with some more logging to help us troubleshoot any issues with extracting RetroArch during the automatic RetroArch installs and updates. If you're having trouble with the new RetroArch install/update features, please turn on debug logging under Tools > Options > Debugging and then share your most recent log file with us (after getting the process to fail).
  13. Thanks guys. I will put out a beta here shortly that includes some better error reporting so that we can figure out exactly what's happening.
  14. @Klona To be honest, we don't plan to implement the Itch.io integration any time soon, since it was voted so low on the poll. It was the last-voted item on the poll. Generally that tells us that users aren't very interested in it.
  15. Usually it's more of a folder requiring admin rights than having to grant access to a specific user. Windows enforces this for certain folders. But also, I'm just guessing here, as I don't really know what's happening. What you could try is removing your LaunchBox emulator for RetroArch from Tools > Manage > Emulators. Then LaunchBox should allow you install a brand new instance and hopefully it won't be a problem anymore (if it is a permissions issue).
  16. If controllers are "skipping lines", it's usually Steam interference. I believe there's a stupid Steam setting that ends up duplicating controls. That would be my guess as to what's going on.
  17. @Afro Pear That is interesting; whatever the issue is, it's somehow specific to your device or configuration, as launching RetroArch works just fine in our testing on our Nvidia Shield. Where are your ROM files located?
  18. Apologies guys, this apparently slipped through the radar. It is still on my list though, so I'll get to a fix for it soon.
  19. Thanks all; I have all the translation updates in for the official release, which should hopefully be out in a few hours. @eonder87 I will work on getting a Turkish package available for you soon here.
  20. It's that time again everybody; we're hoping to put out the official release on Monday, so now is the time for the translation updates. Thanks for all your help as always. @Kondorito @Cauptain @Nyny77 @Opak @dukeemu @cyanjiang @Just001Kim @MajKSA @gamehacker @alexposad @k_kutsugi @Bardock
  21. Apologies, I keep forgetting to get these into a beta. We'll make sure to get them in for the official release though.
  22. Thanks for the info on this. The latest beta should have the MAME high scores working with 0.237.
  23. Also, comments like these are unacceptable. Please consider this a warning.
  24. This is on the list. No, images are definitely not downloaded every time they are needed. I am not dismissing any performance issues, only tempering expectations to be realistic ones. Often times in the past we've worked hard at fixing performance issues that were completely unnoticeable to most people, only to find that one person was upset about a microscopic hiccup that was like 2 or 3 frames long. For that reason I do have to temper expectations, but you don't need to worry that I'm ignoring any issues. I would hope that our past track record is at least enough to prove that. We're already doing wonderfully in sales with the Android app. We don't need to compare ourselves with any other frontend, and we generally don't compare ourselves, outside of getting an idea every once in a while. For what it's worth, comments like these are rather discouraging, not at all encouraging, and honestly really not very useful to me as a developer. I don't say that to offend or start drama, and I pray that it doesn't; I only say it to help make clear the kind of feedback that we need in the future.
  25. Do you have examples of this? Can you screenshot us the issue? I honestly don't know how that's even possible...
