    Mame noob question.

    So i currently have a real old mame collection like .122 or something about 8GB, last night i "acquired" roms for .173 about 35GB... now do i also need the CHDS for all those roms to work?  Sorry mame confuses the hell out of me.

    yup, lol its a weird bug.. but i do not think that it is much of an issue, i found out how to recreate it. If i launch a game via RL that launches RetroArch then i open up the RA's GUI and quit the game via RA then it bugs out LB, but then if i reopen the same game but use RL to quit the game it then fixes the issue lol.

     

    Here is a short video of me quitting a game via RA/RL and the bug it does in LB when trying to right click to see the game details

    Thanks for those errors guys. Looks like we've got more work to do, sigh. I'll keep working at it and get them back to higankanshi as well.

    Win10 anniversary edition, ill recreate it again to see when it happens, coz i think it happens after i launch a game thru rocket-launcher then exit out of the game... but ill try to recreate it first.

    So i tested out the package feature with Launchbox today @Jason Carr, packed up my whole setup, it worked great and launchbox cleaned up my directories a heap so its much better now apart from the naming of the folders, they have dates on them which stuffs up RL and its sub-directories, apparently the folders need to be named exactly what  they are in RL's data base for example: 3-D Tic-Tac-Toe " RL DATA BASE " and 3-D Tic-Tac-Toe [1980] " LB " . So now i either have to add every single directory to RL or use a bulk renamer to remove the dates from the folders and then i guess i will need to re import my games to LB since there directory will be changed. Is this worth looking into and changing for future compatibility with RL ??

    I wouldn't be able to share the .bat file as my directories would be different from yours, but it super easy  to setup.

    @Mute64 I remember one person reported once that for some reason the alpha search wasn't working for one of their platforms, but I was never able to replicate it. Can you send me your LaunchBox.xml file? jason@unbrokensoftware.com

    @kmoney2315, let me know if you find a good solution for that; the ESRB intros drive me nuts too. Legally I'm not sure if we can automatically remove them in LaunchBox but it'd be great if there was a way to manually do it in batch after they download.

    I can set that up with controller compainion, but i never need to switch between programs, kodi is the main frontend, i launch what i need from kodi then one im finshed with that programe i close it and it goes back to kodi..... Altho now you have mentioned it it maybe actually handy if it did implement an Alt tab feature with controller compainion so i can switch from bigbox/an emulator to kodi so i can play music or change the song if i dont like it... ima seth that up when i get home lol.

    Omg i would have loved this feature lol. My setup is one thread away from total destruction. I originally added LB to my C drive.... that was only 120 GB i soon ran out of space and decided to move large roms and the manuals and videos to different drives but couldn't be arsed re-adding the roms or changing the directories in the .xml file... i presume thats how you do it lol.. so yea instead i used this programe called DirLinker.. its awsome it makes symbolic links so all i had todo was choose my folder that i wanted moved then choose the location i want it moved to and it would move all my stuff but leave behind a symbolic folder link so LB still thinks its in the C drive lol.... im just waiting for this to become an issue.... but so far its  golden lol

    We should make a Recommend a System thread as well, coz im looking at adding a new system but im not sure which one since the systems i already have are pretty much the only systems i have played through out my life. .. so what is a good system to start looking into adding?

    I think these new forums may be the best looking and functional forums i have used. . Adding videos is awsome... Jason has done a great job.. almost seams like his specialty. .. i can see why he was thinking about adding a "social" like "Facebook" feature into LaunchBox.

    Yea i have a custom .bat file that launches Kodi,steam,ps3 bluetooth remote,Shadowplay and controller compainion and yes it launches b4 explorer.exe so you never see Windows 10/explorer.

    This is pretty much exactly what i have done.... here is some videos showing off my oldish setup. And i am also right now editing a demonstration video of my latest setup.
