    Is there a list of which systems are 100% completed in the database?

    In my opinion snes/sfc. I was contributing to it for years. Now you could find every release with their boxes, clear logos, including homebrews, nintendo power and some satellaview hacks. There's some information missing but on the art side they're complete at 99% in my opinion.

    PD: Considering that you want japanese covers only for non released games on western countries. I prioritized the superfamicom exclusives to add covers.

    Please vote!

    Explanation: As many of you know, emumovies uses some naming convention for the scrapping/downloading data system, usually recognices goodsnes and hyperlist naming conventions. To bypass failure on retrieving correct info on emumovies system the community are adding alternate names to launchbox with the launchbox hability to use it in some kind of recursive system. But in some cases the system is failing. An example

    https://gamesdb.launchbox-app.com/games/details/26599 This game have as first title Elfaria II (full cover text content as first title) an also have Elfaria II: The Quest of the Meld as alternate name (in emumovies database they have named under this full name) But scrapping and detection only works if we name it as Elfaria II: The Quest of the Meld, something happens here, launchbox doesn't use the alternate name to retrieve info? Only use the first name? Doesn't do recursive and retry to avoid it?

    @Jason Carr

  3. We should keep satellaview separate because there's a heavy amount of crap ( rom hacks or raritys) on satellaview releases, and a lot of snes games have satellaview releases also. To avoid failures when scrapping info and not overload the snes listing with all this stuff is good to keep separate. BUT! i'm also adding to the snes database FULL GAMES that are perfectly playable on snes with a flashcard because are FULL GAMES with digital release. I'm adding as DLC (Downloadable content) and creating custom covers for everyone that one a complete list of snes playable games.

    For example, radical dreamers (satellaview release, full visual adventure), shockman zero (released past year on cartridge too), zelda bs and others.

    @Robin55, please remember to make sure the png are compressed before uploading. so far, I've seen a bunch of submissions that are more than double the size they should be for a png of those dimensions.

    This issue is mentioned a lot of times, quality have priority over size, i upload always on png using the maximum compression level on gimp (9). Uploading images with a lot of compression is bread for today hungry for tomorrow, now many people have only average hd monitors but we need to think on the near future with 4k and big screens, if we upload heavily compressed images we could see compression artifacts. Is better to have a premium source and next create a workaround for the users that want to save disk space.

    Some of the EmuMovies issues you speak of are due to the API, which unfortunately sometimes still has issues even with the right names. LaunchBox *does* use alternate titles correctly. However, in some cases the EmuMovies API doesn't.

    Can you explain this in more detail please? Are you saying that launchbox effectively uses alternative names to search for matches in emumovies? And that is emumovies that is failing even if the search is done using a typical name of their policy (hyperlist for example). Can you explain exactly how it works and if it would be necessary for us to add more alternative names because possibly those that fail do not have the equivalent name of emumovies?

    @Jason CarrAnd first of all, my apologies if I am very insistent with this. I am very committed to the launchbox database and I have made thousands of contributions to both art and names and I feel helpless when there is still a lot of manual work to do to have the perfect collection. I would like that any user who imported a typical romset had almost nothing to do. I know it's a very ambitious goal and that we can boast you a lot, but your program and the community are wonderful :)

    I could give you an example of failing match on the snes games list, This list contains all games that have video snaps on emumovies but launchbox fails on downloading info and videos.

    Thanks guys. Hit me up with feedback on the EmuMovies stuff. Looking for as much testing/feedback as I can get on that before the public release.

    @Jason Carr Because our policy on naming and the way that launchbox works, many data of emumovies is not downloaded. Launchbox must use the alternate naming lists when it failed on find a game, we are adding hyperspin names as alternates to manage this issue but launchbox still doesn't make use of them. I know that i'm tiresome with this issue, but if we want that launchbox does scrapping perfectly without missings on detections we need to use the alternate naming. Tags for tipical naming policies like goodsnes or hyperlist and a recursive use of them if the first one (sorting title) fails is mandatory.

  7. Well it's not a small thing but due to absence of news about it, i need to ask for it again. As you know emumovies ( at this moment the first video snap service we could use) have issues scrapping videos with other rom names than HYPERLIST OR NO-INTRO CONVENTIONS. It's the same issue (strict naming convention) that makes errors with retroachievements and a issue that colides with our policy of making full cover text content as the real and first name (sorting on the database). We reallly need to add tags and system that includes the tipical hyperlist naming convention to ensure correct emumovies scrapping, tags for retroachievements as the same workaround, and a recursive use of alternate names of the database. The database is stuffed of alternate names to manage scrapping issues but too many time after launchbox doesn't use it, emumovies still failing to download data if our database naming is diferent, we don't have special tags for the hiperlist namings, the romsets namings. There's more than 2 years from the first ticket that calls for a solution and still we need to have tons of manual work to manage collections and scrapping issues. i don't want to sound rude or fussy but to be honest i'm really sad that this issue is not solved. I really enjoy the launchbox development and i'm really proud of the work and care of the team but as a heavy contributor and moderator i'm losing motivation due to not see a clean solution that makes useful the work of the moderators/contributors and more user friendly import collections procedures.

    If it does become mandatory to include a specified region, there should definitely be a 'Retro Achievements' region.

    Obviously, 'Retro Achievements' is not an actual region. But with poorly named Retro Achievements games, I don't want to slap a 'Europe' or 'Australia' tag on it, then someone who is from that region takes issue with the poorly named game and decides to edit, thus breaking Retro Achievements functionality.

    Poorly named Retro Achievements alternate names should have their own 'region' so people know to leave it alone.

    That's the same issue with emumovies sync, we need extra tags on alternate names to manage that. Emumovies uses only no intro and hyperlist name convention i've commented time ago to @Jason Carr

    Is there really no way to get Desmume running in full screen...? Seems such a simple thing to do. (Well it is for every other emulator) Is there not something we can add into the command line to replicate Alt+Enter upon loading a rom through launchbox please? I tried running NoGba emulator, but the sound emulation was not accurate, and there is very little in the way of configuration. Desmume has everything dammit, except auto full screen. So please can someone help with a solution to auto fullscreen Desmume on startup, and ill be forever grateful, Thanks.

    For no debug console and full screen use this.  Open desmume.ini (in your emulator folder) search [Console] and arrange like this

    [Console]
    PosX=0
    PosY=0
    Width=0
    Height=0
    Show=0

    For full screen use this on AUTOHOTKEY OPTIONS (In emulator configurator on launchbox)

    WinWaitActive , DeSmuME ;
    Send !{Enter}

  12. The alternate naming still don't work as we expected. I've imported recently the full genesis romset and many roms that don't have the first sorting title (USA) doesn't find their entry, next i check if the alternate name is on the database and it is. Is need to improve. Manually when you edit the alternate names are found, but not in the import rom process. And emumovies still failing if we don't have the exact hyperlist/nointro naming. The alternate naming needs more work to be really useful. The alternates need to work on importing and merging, and the scrapper maybe could retry emumovies petitions with alternates if first title doesn't find anything. And please add the rename all option, it's a mess than any change on the database results on missing info or duplicated data.
