Updated sources for covers.
For superfamicom and euro covers Nintandbox.net (needs registration) http://www.nintandbox.net/index.php/fr/nintendo-boxes-project/SuperNES-SuperFamicom
For superfamicom only Playasia http://www.play-asia.com/games/retro_gaming/nintendo/super_famicom/games/14/716s#fc=o:1http://nintendoage.com/index.cfm?FuseAction=Search.SNES

We need that launchbox uses this alternate titles for scrapping and merge roms. Many people are still uploading duplicated roms because the scrapping system only uses sorting titles and fails with diacritics and others. I'm really sick of deleting again and again games like Final Fantasy VI Chavez I and II, Another world and others that are already in the snes database with their US sorting title. And seeing over and over the pokemon pokémon naming changes or 1080 snownoarding. Please priorityze this, the lack of this for years are turning into a serious pain in the ass for moderators.

We need an easy way to see all the rejections in a section with notifications to manage them.In the actual way don't work very well. We can't manage all the contributions one by one, is a really nasty task.

Hey, so I've been moderating for a while, and I've been wondering - should we start adding names on the DB according to No-Intro naming conventions? I usually curate my games with the No-Intro lists, so if we change names or at least add alternate names on the DB which correspond exactly to the No-Intro lists it should make scraping some games a lot easier.
For example, No-Intro usually names games like The Legend of Zelda as "Legend of Zelda, The", which doesn't get scraped correctly on Launchbox.
So I guess what I'm asking is - will there ever be a feature to update Launchbox DB with No-Intro/TOSEC/Redump conventions or data? Cause that would would be great for achieving parity with other game databases across the web.
We have alternate naming for this. We could add as alternate names the romset names. We don't need to oversize the list but i thing that with the regional names, some also know names and the 3 romset more useful we could achieve a near perfect 100% scrapping when launchbox uses the alternates names for scrapping and search.

Well you should be happy to know in the recent poll DB improvements were the highest voted item and that this feature should be getting added in the near future.
FINALLY!!

a year ago the superfamicom and snes are merged, same for genesis and megadrive. What's the point of keeeping separate famicom and nes today? Please merge it, we have alternate naming and data for this.

months ago the alternate naming has included in the database and still doesn't have any utility for scrapping and consolidate diferent regional roms with alternate titles. Maybe it's time.

Alright, I'll update the ARCADE section for NAOMI and CAPCOM games if anything needs improved... and stick to improving the AES section for NeoGeo.
In past times i update the neogeo aes with all the japanese boxart available in the best quality i could find, at least in japanes boxfront is complete, you have work with the western art, many custom cover and very difficult to find the real ones in good quality. Be careful with tgas is really hard to find the real covers and not customized ones for shock boxes and others.

So NAOMI 1 and 2... CPS 1, 2, and 3 will all be removed? If so, what about Neo Geo AES?
NEOGEO AES NO! It's a different machine than NeoGeo MVS, not the same catalog. It's the same with typex (a typical windows pc) and windows. Diferent platform. You could add flyers and full mvs catalog in arcade and keep the neogeo aes diferent catalog.

You have a drive in the post with all the covers with the better quality i've found.https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B6P3jpLxbD7EYnh5ZndmdTdEQjA For HQ superfamicom covers i found it on nintandbox.net http://www.nintandbox.net/index.php/en/and in the playasia store website http://www.play-asia.com/games/retro_gaming/nintendo/super_famicom/games/14/716s. For others i search hq photos in ebay and make a perspective correction with gimp, cleaning the images and adjusting the ratio size.

@Jason Carr I've tried the option to merge roms into one entry in the last version of launchbox, 7.7 but it doesn't work with roms that have diferent name in regional versions. I've tried to import The jetsons: invasion of the planet pirates and Youkai buster: ruka no daibouken that are the same game but with diferences between us version (jetsons) and japanese (youkai) and don't work. Youkai buster are already added as alternate name (japan) on jetsons entry.

For arcade and sega consoles https://segaretro.org/Main_Page
For nintendo consoles pal and japanese http://www.nintandbox.net/
For NEC consoles http://www.pcengine.co.uk/
And for good cover of many consoles, the thumbnails of http://www.play-asia.com/
they restore and clean the covers to view in the web. Many of my superfamicom contributions come from here with 820x1500 resolutions.

I'm adding a lot of new games of snes/superfamicom database could yout take a look on it? I made a bunch of clear logos too. You're not alone mate.

In my opinion must be separated from the real games lists. They could overload any entry or list. For example there's hundreds of super mario world hacks. If we bulk it in the super mario world entry, is insane, and if we keep togetherthe romhacks with the real games, we could pass hours seeing only hacks before we find the real ones, and the scrapper could make crazy associations and asigns romhacks names to legit names, because the romhackers are plenty of imagination naming their creations.
Keep separated is my vote.
-
mm is about an issue with scrapping. The correct name acording with cover content is Pokémon, but the scrapper fails to recognize words with diacritics, because that, some contributors change it with pokemon. Now we have alternate naming. When the developers use this alternates for scrapping we could have the issue solved. The scrapper finds pokemon as alternate name and asigns pokémon as sorting name. That's the idea i thing. Same for duplicate roms of several regions. Scrapper could detect it as the same game besides their different naming (included as alternate in database) and group it in the same entry, in the same way it does with multiple disc games.
Nintendo Sufami Turbo platform still not avaible?

sufami turbo are snes games, the sufami turbo is merely a addon to support sufami cartridges (smaller and cheaper than regular ones) No need for extra platform.
