Brad, not sure if this is the right forum, but, i was watching your tutorial just now on importing MAME files in to LB and noticed at the 1:33 mark the title of your ROMS. Take 1942 for example, you were able to show the Revision B in your title. Did you manually edit yourself or were you able to import it that way?

wow. and it scrapes the corresponding regions meta and artwork??

ALIE said just successfully imported all my US SNES games. all are correctly now north america in LB. one error came the first game always seems to fail but a solo import of that game worked. interesting note i just imported all my EU games no issues all games was moved and imported. but the same error came "super baseball 2020" which isn't a EU game and wasn't in my folder. so this game gives an error no matter the import apparently wait..what?!? current beta allows me to say import my ROM folder all with varying regions and LB will sort out for me now?

Got a new 8TB Western Digital Drive, now I get to transfer 3.05TB of Roms.

I know. I'v already been through one data loss. I accidently dropped a 5tb HDD out of its enclosure on a concrete floor. Skip, skip, skip, struggle to read, skip, skip skip... What was the most terrifying was that my wife had thousands of pictures of us and our daughter as she was growing up on that drive. I was able to save them by the plastic bag in the freezer trick. I'm not sure who's face you should've seen - my wifes face when she came downstairs for a midnight snack only to find cables running into the freezer with a laptop across from it, or my face when I had to think very carefully about explaining to her what I was doing. You would've thought I learned my lesson by now... -

Nice! I need to pick up at least 2 of these for what I have and am planning to do. PSX, PS2, oXbox, and Wii iso's over all regions will take up alot of space -
Famicom platform pulling select NES box art
alexis524 replied to alexis524's topic in Troubleshooting
Good Morning All, I have NES and Famicom set as different platforms and i noticed that with a few Famicom titles, it is pulling the NES box art despite my box art folder directories set to pull from separate locations. Anyone run into something similar? -
welp, i'll just make do then. Thanks for confirming Brad

I'm sorry if this has been asked before (searched, couldn't find much) but, i'm set to import a No-Intro NES set that features region names in parentheses. However the importing wizard wants to remove what's in parentheses. Is there any way to keep it?
-
I feel the same. I like that GoodSets are thorough and almost TOSEC-like in terms of capturing everything the platform has to offer, but good lord, it's a grind. I just don't have the time to sort through it all. I'd eventually like to game and not manage files you know I just have this lingering feeling that I have to put in check that even with a no-intro set, that I'm missing something...It's just all in my head and need to move on.
-
Brad, I owe you an apology! After taking a closer look at No-Intro sets, they're what I'm after. It seems i was under the false assumption that No-Intro sets only featured the best version out of all the regions that would leave only one file per title, but after taking a look at the NES no intro set, I see more than one region per title, which is what I'm after My apologies to you my friend and thanks for pointing me in the right direction
-
thanks m3TT, i checked it out and can't seem to set any exceptions on file names to include/exclude to sort my titles out. I'm remoting in from work and will have to look a bit deeper when i get home. Thanks for the suggestion

Thanks Brad. I'm a bit OCD when it comes to my ROM sets. I like to have all [!] versions of each region if possible since there are a few regional differences that I enjoy. (i.e. With Kenseiden the main characters hair color is different depending on the region) Kenseiden (U) would go in my Master System setup and the (J) version to my Mark III set up, so the No-Intro set defeats what I'm after. I'll tinker with the Windows Search function. I did a search earlier today trying to pull just (J)[!] but it also pulled in bad and over dumps too.
-
Hi all, looking for a program you might use that you would recommend to sort out/delete bad and overdumps from goodmerged sets. I'm going through the GoodNES set to sort out (U)[!], from (J)[!], from (E)[!] I'm doing the same for a few other sets and am hoping to avoid burnout. Any suggestions?

So...I've been in a bit of a quandary for the last few months. I have little time when i'm home to work on emulation stuff since family and homeschool takes priority. I had used a trial for GoToMyPC about 6 months back to install some Skyrim mods on my PC at home from my work PC (I had a lot of downtime) and figured, well, the only way I can make a dent in my LB setup is using my downtime at work to remote in to my home PC. I was about to pay for a subscription to GoToMyPC yesterday when I found an advertisement for Google Chrome Remote Desktop app for free. I installed on my work PC before leaving for the day, installed in on my home PC last night, and sure enough, I can work pretty well with not too much lag here at work So, I'm about to import a few ROM sets I've been meaning to for a while and download metadata that will be ready for me to game with when I get home. So far, it's working well as a remote desktop application

Jason, Your recent collaborations with EmuMovies and quite possibly Hyperspin got me thinking. Don't want to name drop since not sure if it's frowned upon, but I've been a member of an small community geared specifically towards emulation on the original xbox. They have been adding to a repository for years now and have artwork and synopses on ALOT of consoles, systems, handhelds, etc. Not sure if it would help, but they may be able to fill in some gaps, and vice versa if they were willing. If it's any interest, let me know, if not, no big deal too just thought I would throw it out there. -
Was wondering if there is a way to switch between box art views with out having to delete downloaded artwork? I have both 2D and 3D boxart downloaded and can I swap back and forth when the mood strikes without having to edit/delete boxart view I want to switch from ?

your emulator path is most likely the culprit as Brad stated above. I had the same happen a few days ago after moving some directories around. I went to load up a game and got the same message as you. I just had to go in and change the path to the emulator and all was well.
