  1. Styphelus said That's your opinion. Obviously, CraigAnderson, Alexis524, me, and everyone over at the Hyperspin, Emumovies and Rocketluncher forums disagrees. erm, I think I need to clarify a bit. Although I'm very happy to see some steam being generated for splitting systems, I don't want this to create any rifts in the community. I know text/type masks tones and inflections, but I don't entirely agree with the above statement, and feel I need to distance myself from it. The splitting of systems is merely my preference. We're fortunate enough with the dev's here churning out updates after updates week after week, for which I'm grateful for and I feel that "it's all love" the whole way around here at LB. The community here is very pleasant and would hate to ever see it start to go left. I was a member of a similar community that I will not name now or ever will nor will I speak badly of, that seemed to feed of pettiness, selfishness, and just straight-up douchebaggeryness. I'm in no way saying the post above is at all, I just want to keep the vibe good here is all and want to contribute to a mature community cause we're better than that. I think a community poll is a great idea and how ever the chips fall, so be it. Big ups to Jason, Brad and all those working behind the scenes to deliver the best FE that is the topic of many conversations in and around the emulation community.
  2. hyperspins xml won't do what the OP wants. Full lists for each region is what he's after, not just an xml for what's a no-intro set really. My initial thought is to take a TOSEC set, get rid of all the bad/overdump/hacked ROMS so that you're left with one ROM for each region and make an xml out of that using something like Don's Hyperspin List Generator? (never used it, but it'll make an xml for you out of any game list you have from what I understand)
  3. Viking, very nice work! Do you have any other themes for systems you can put up? I see some goodies in your wheel there...
  4. OP, very nice! This is kinda the look i'm aiming for as well. Nice crisp clear console image in the background of the system i'm browsing. Very nice
  5. Styphelus said Not for me they aren't and not for anyone who was previous using Hyperspin. Launchbox has a Nintendo Famicom and a Nintendo Entertainment System. How come? Aren't they the same? The TurboGrafx-16 library is much smaller than the PC-Engine library. I don't want my PC-Engine exclusive games on the Turbografx simply because they never came out on the Turbografx. I really don't want to get into a debate about this again. I also want my AEE and my Dice separate from my Arcade (Mame) and my Sega Mark III separate from my Sega Master System, and my Super Famicom separate from my SNES. I'm going to try a workaround tonight and see if the scraping will still work so i can have my systems the way I want them. Launchbox tapped into the hardcore gamers and collectors over at the Hyperspin forums and as such, we like things in a particular way. Emumovies and Rocketlauncher follow the same format as Hyperspin. Maybe that's the way it should be now that Launchbox is downloading content from Emumovies and will downloading content from Hyperspin in the very near future. I feel the same exact way. I want them separate as well. My OCD requires it or else I can't touch the system.
  6. CADScott said OMG, I missed that feature being added, that is fantastic! same here and so glad to see it implemented! Will play around with this weekend :)
  7. GM all, anyone have or know where famicom, super famicom box art can be found? Would love to implement here in the database so that I can properly have my NES and Famicom games separate. Same thing for Genesis/Mega Drive, Master System/Mark III, Tg16/PCE. Any suggestions?
  8. w00t! put's my 8gb to shame. I was just deciding whether or not to jump to 16gb's, but decided against it at the moment. If anything, I'd upgrade my mobo right now.
  9. pasteko, I feel your pain. I too prefer all regions since some do vary from each other. Take Kenseiden for Master System for example. The main character looks different in all three versions. His outfit and hair color are different in all three. See here for an example: http://blog.hardcoregaming101.net/2009/09/fun-sega-master-system-trivia-part-1.html It may be a small difference, but it's for reasons like this that I like to have the ROM from each region
  10. I use a wired Microsoft 360 pad for the majority of my gaming needs, but when the mood strikes, I bust out my cheap console knock-offs like DOS76 to try to "emulate" (pun intended) the feel of playing the consolized version. I also have an NES30 that is pretty boss for my NES games.
  11. that's disappointing At least he blessed us with the work he created. Which get's me to thinking...I have to check the repo to see if there was a template provided. Maybe I can try my hand at it *edit checked the repo and no dice. is there a template anyone has handy or can give me parameters?
  12. bd000, absolutely love your images and your approach (conformity and taking the retail box of said console into thought) I was just browsing your Big Box Platform banners in the repo and was wondering if you would be so kind to create the following: Sega Mark III, PC Engine, and PC Engine CD, SuperGrafx, FM Marty, X68000, PC-98, PC-88, Super Famicom, Famicom, Famicom Disk System, and MSX 2? Sorry for the long laundry list... Many thanks in advance
  13. Since custom background images for each console/system seems to be on the to do list, here are a few examples that I did not create and am not taking any credit for whatsoever, and would love to see implemented to give each system it's own warm and fuzzy feeling while browsing through it's catalogue. These are a few examples I have saved...
