  1. Ok this is pretty simple. You have the wrong core selected for the platform you have the games imported to. Change that to the mame2003plus core in the associated platforms window for your retroarch emulator in Launchbox. Also make sure you don't have the extract roms box checked in edit emulator window for your retrorach entry as well. Arcade game roms for mame and fba for example need to remain zipped.
  2. Please do not links to copy right protect files such as roms and bios.
  3. Because it has the best PS1 and Saturn emulation outside of the RA cores which are based off the Mednafen code and Duckstation. I don't necessarily recommend it over the Retroarch cores but it's a very good option if RA is giving you problems.
  4. My advice is always buy the biggest drive you are willing to buy. I would buy at a minimum a 4TB drive, the price difference between a 4 and a 2TB drive is tiny but if you can do an 8TB that would be even better especially if you collect full CD or DVD based sets.
  5. You can have multiple installations of Launchbox on your computer.
  6. Nothing much to it really. Setup the emulator using the documentation page they have on their website.
  7. Yup, Mednafen is a command line driven emulator out of the box, all the configuration for it is done through the cfg files. It has no GUI but you can get 3rd party GUIs for it if you prefer.
  8. No, I am talking about the stand alone version of Mednafen https://mednafen.github.io/
  9. The video card shouldn't be the issue, if it runs it runs. You could try Duckstation for PS1, give Mednafen a try for PS1 and Saturn.
  10. Altirra is for the 5200 and 800 and the 5200 has more buttons, 4 side buttons but I believe those are duplicated so it's 2 buttons plus the numpad.
  11. You can download it from the libretro website but I would imagine that using the LB updater should just update withou messing up any custom settings you have set though I can't confirm that it won't.
  12. I cant help with updating Retroarch through LB, I have never done it. I install and update Retroarch manually. As for Mame stand alone shaders I use my personal HLSL settings which I think gives a very good look overall. Getting something that looks "perfect" for every game is an impossible task since there were so many different display types and resolutions. You can find my settings and how to use them here:
  13. Do whatever you prefer. If you put each game into their own folders use a core override with the shader. If you put all the disc image folders into a single folder you can use a content directory override. Not sure what would be going on there but I would use a core override. Typically I use core overrides rather that content overrides but content overrides can be useful if you use the same core for multiple systems and want a different shader for each.
  14. Your main config file retroarch.cfg file is likely set to use that shader preset. You will want to disable the "write on exit" or something to that effect in Retroarch.
  15. This means you are using a pirated license. Email support@unbrokensoftware.com if you feel this is not the case.
  16. Email support@unbrokensoftware.com and they can help you out. Your other account may have been banned because of spam. We have been getting hit hard over the last couple of months by spam using hacked accounts of users and yours may have been one of them.
  17. Yeah, we don't provide support for pre loaded hard drives.
  18. In Launchbox select the platform you want to remove select all the games (control + a) and delete. Then close Launchbox and navigate to the Launchbox folder, then in the images and video sub folders delete the platform folders for those media types.
  19. Just keep in mind this is just what I have read and seen others say. I have not tested this, I do not own a 4K OLED display. All my emulation nowadays is done using a MiSTer FPGA and a CRT monitor and or TV with component video.
  20. From my understanding based on what I have read and seen others say you will need at least a 4K display that is also OLED and at least 120hz to come close to giving the "life" of a CRT. 4K or even 8K will be needed to give the sub pixel density required. 120hz or higher so you can use black frame insertion to give you the proper motion and you will need OLED to give the proper levels of blacks and brightness. Even after all that it probably won't be perfect but it will be the best you can do today short of getting an old CRT.
  21. Edit the game and change its platform.
  22. Moved thread to appropriate forum section. There is no current road map. You can suggest features by posting on the bit bucket page. At the top of the webpage click Help & Support > Request A Feature.
  23. Mame does a fantastic job at emulating arcade systems and does a very good job at emulating some consoles and computer systems but a great many of those other systems Mame is outclassed by a large margin in terms of emulation quality. I can't say what emulators will use Mame SL lists but I can tell you that Mame will use No-Intro and ReDump sets without any issues if needed.
  24. You really shouldn't be using Mame for 2600 and other main stream systems, like Nintendo or Sega. There are much better emulators available for them.
