  1. It's all good. Sometimes there is so much stuff to remember the small details can easily get overlooked.
  2. Brad has shown this in his tutorial videos
  3. Just go to your folder where you store your games and search for *.cue So for example with my Playsation games I would navigate in my file manager to my Playstation folder which has all my games in their own sub folders. Then pressing control + f on the keyboard brings up the search box. Type in *.cue and then Enter on the keyboard, this should now just show all the cue files which can be dragged into Launchbox for import. Or if you use the Launchbox import in the Tools > Import > Roms you can use the search there as well.
  4. Leave the cue and bin files in their own folders for organization. You could take your cue files out but you would have to go into each one and edit the bin location to a hard path which is not a good idea. Depending on how you are doing your import but you can use your file manager to only show the cue files by putting *.cue in the file search for fast mass import.
  5. The N64 controller mappings are a bit confusing in Retroarch but after you spend a couple of minutes at it you will figure it out and it will make some sense once you do. You can get things the way you want them. Basically the stuff down the left had side is the N64 controller and the stuff on the right is your controller you are using while using the button naming scheme of a Snes controller. It took me a good 5-10 minutes one night of messing with it to get the controls setup right but once I got it it made sense.
  6. Yes Mess is now fully integrated into Mame and getting things running in Mame should be doable. But there are still separate builds of Mess being kept up with the latest versions and I have just had better luck dealing with the folder structure using Mess. All I do is dump my bios files in the \Mess\roms\ folder and then add my actual game roms folder path to the mess.ini file and they just work. From what I could tell with Mame there was just a little more fiddling with folder structures. Plus just for my own personal OCD about keeping things neat and tidy I just liked having my Mame and Mess separate. As far as your issues go one place I would look is at your actual rom files. You said you dumped your own physical disks if I read what you typed correctly. I would try and download a disk image dump from somewhere and try that. Unfortunately I gave up on Dragon's Lair, just no interest in the CD-i personally.
  7. Does your cdimono1.zip file have 2 files inside it ? cd200.rom and cdi220b.rom. To be honest I have spent very little time on getting the CD-i up and running. I only tried with one game which was Dragon's Lair and I got it to load to the boot screen and then it told me I need the mpeg encoder card addon for the system which as far as I am aware of Mess does not support. Presumably if I had a game that did not require this addon hardware it should work. I also used a stand alone version of Mess and not Mame, I have had better luck getting systems up and running through Mess.
  8. Good to hear, the Game Chasers seem like really cool guys and them showing off Launchbox should generate some good exposure and publicity for it.
  9. Ok if the cue files are named after the game itself remove all your PS1 games from Launchbox and re-import just the cue files for each game. The problem you are having is because you imported all the bin files which you don't want to do.
  10. Ok, does your Ace Combat folder have a whole bunch of bin files in it ? If it does remove all the Ace Combats but 1 from Launchbox. WIth that 1 left make Launchbox point to the cue file for it. The other option is to remove all the PS1 games from Launchbox and reimport just your cue files.
  11. Well for starters you don't need to import the bin files, you just need the cue files. Are your cue files all named the same generic name or are they named what the game is ? For example cd.cue or final fantasy.cue.
  12. Can you post a screenshot of what you are talking about ? Did you import the cue and bin or just the cue files ?
  13. Weird that they would crash when other cores work. Could be a bad config file for the bsnes cores though. If you want to you can delete any bsnes core configs and try fresh.
  14. Yup, the core needs to match. I suggest tryout out one of the BSnes cores if you have a decent CPU, the accuracy or balance are both excellent and better than Snes9x.
  15. You just seem to be offended by the fact he did give it away.
  16. It's his bartop to do what he wants with it, if he wants to destroy it that's his right. Giving it to Youtubers that could probably get Launchbox out to more people could be a good thing. It's his bartop and business to run as he sees fit.
  17. And what if he did give it away ? Do you even know the details behind whatever transaction took place ?
  18. Back it up to a USB stick just to be safe.
  19. Do you have a backup of your license.xml ? Maybe in your email ? If not send Jason an email and he should be able to help you out.
  20. Seems like a good TV. Yeah most emulators with v-sync on tend to speed the game up to 60 Hz which can either have an extremely minor and insignificant effect on a game to possibly weird effects on games especially if AI and physics are tied to the games speed.
  21. G-Sync is awesome but obviously isn't necessary for low input lag. G-Sync and FreeSync monitors being higher end just have lower input latency by their nature. They also allow you to turn off V-Sync (which adds to lag a bit) to remove the tearing. Nice low input lag BenQ monitors can be gotten for very reasonable prices and don't lock you into a specific video card brand. I would not give up my G-Sync monitor for anything though, it is so nice to play on one. It is especially awesome for Mame with all those funky refresh rate games.
  22. It made me happy to hear him say he has changed his mind on emulation. Most of the bigger retro gaming youtubers are fairly open minded about emulation but there is at least 1 or 2 out there that still shit all over like they have some sort of superiority complex because they play on real hardware. They even go so far as to say shit like "if i have a physical copy of the game I bought and paid for I am more likely to play it and appreciate it more". That isn't an emulation problem, that's a personal problem. I have no problems appreciating and enjoying the games I emulate. I also don't shit on ZSnes and Nesticle, they served their purpose in a time when emulation was new and got people into it but they have certainly not aged well and are bad examples nowadays of what emulation can do. As far as input lag goes, with a good low lag gaming display and using the 240p test suites manual lag test I consistently get less than one frame of input lag. Also keep in mind that just because some of these "hardware purists" say there is 0 input lag on real hardware and a CRT that doesn't mean it is 0. There is some but no one seems to care to measure it or maybe it isn't possible to measure. I sure as hell remember playing shitty games back in the day with "laggy" controls. It's in the games coding often.
