  1. Most likely when you copied over the emulators and any other software you had before it's missing those dlls, you may just have to redownload them and reinstall.
  2. Well if the problem is what I think it is the fix is to point your LB emulator entry at the installed Mame exe and not the self extracting zip file that you download from the website. Your Mame install folder should look something like this screenshot, minus the groovymame.exe which is something extra I use.
  3. That looks like you have your Mame emulator entry in LB pointing at the Mame self extracting zip file, not the emulator executable you use for playing games.
  4. Do you have the Assets folder stuff required for the core ? https://docs.libretro.com/library/ppsspp/#bios I don't use RA for PSP stuff, I prefer to use the stand alone for it.
  5. Did you try other games and are they good or have issues ?
  6. It shouldn't download media you already have but to be on the safe side you can uncheck the media that you already have. You can setup pretty much everything in Retroarch on a per core or even per game basis, this is all done in Retroarch itself. It's up to date, you can add and remove any platforms you need or don't want. The cores are up to date as long as you have your cores up to date. Best is a subjective thing in emulation, it depends on your systems specs and your personal needs and tastes. For example Higan is technically "the best" SNES emulator because it cycle accurate but it requires a decent CPU to run it at full speed. Meanwhile Snes9x is not quite as accurate but it plays 99% of the games and runs amazing on lower end hardware. You will just have to decide for yourself what is best for you and we have threads with discussions about what cores people use. Some cores require extra files to function, you can find out the information you need here: https://docs.libretro.com/library/bios/
  7. This is tough to cover it all but I will try here before heading off to bed. Yes, this is possible, you can do this with any software and there are guides on the internet on doing so. You should Google this for the specific version of Windows you are using. This ranges from either just placing a shortcut in your systems startup folder up to shelling your system which is a bit more complex but cleaner. No matter how nicely you have things all setup you should always at least have a keyboard of some sort nearby. You are doing this on a PC after all and things will crash from time to time or some strange occurrence will happen where you will need a keyboard. This doesn't need to be one wired and hanging out of your cabinet, you can have a small wireless keyboard tucked away nearby for when needed. This will come down to the emulators you choose to use but 800x600@60 Hz should be perfectly doable if your monitor supports it. This is outside the scope of Launchbox. Again this will come down to the emulators you choose to use but Mame and Retroarch do support these without issues, the trackball is just seen as a mouse. Launchbox is much easier to get your roms and emulators up and running in. With HyperSpin you will have to learn how to use RocketLauncher which is the backend software of HyperSpin and it has a nasty learning curve. Launchbox does not require RocketLauncher at all though it can use it if the end user chooses to do so. I will give you my personal experience here. Back when I was starting out with all of this I spent about a month with the help of a friend learning to set up RL + HS and it was a major hassle. One day I was looking around for something else and stumbled across Launchbox and within 5 minutes (no exaggeration) I had games imported and had them running with all the art and meta data. There are a ton of tutorials on the Launchbox YouTube channel to help you get things running: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCSIht6UXIEXIgz4eXAEShxA We have an extremely active forum here with plenty of people willing to help you out along with written guides on some of the more obscure emulators and topics. We also have a very active and helpful Discord server https://discord.gg/kafNav Nothing offers this all in one packaged. Retroarch and EmulationStation (which uses Libretro cores) on the Raspberry Pi come close but they don't emulate everything and sometimes the emulation it does is not as good as some stand alones which you may or may not need, it all depends on what you want to emulate and the power of the PC you are planning on using. Now if all this seems like it is more hassle than you want to put in I would suggest checking out @ETAPRIMEs YouTube channel and more specifically this new video he just posted which explains how to install RetroPie on a PC or laptop. This will give you the closest thing to an all in one setup ready to go minus your roms which you will need to supply yourself of course.
  8. You can request features here: https://bitbucket.org/jasondavidcarr/launchbox/issues/new User profiles has been asked for before and was on the last poll but didn't get enough votes to make the cut, maybe it will be on the next poll.
  9. Unfortunately I don't, as far as I am aware of this is just how Windows is and how it handles USB devices and USB IDs. Of course it is possible there could be a way to solve this but it's not something I have come across.
  10. This sounds like a typical Windows and USB ports issue, Windows handles it all very poorly.
  11. You can email support@unbrokensoftware.com if you have questions regarding your license.
  12. No problem, that was a weird issue you were having, i've never seen that one before at all.
  13. Try removing the Jaguar entry from the Associated Platforms window, see if that fixes it.
  14. If you have the Pico core downloaded and in your Retroarch\cores folder then it should be available in the drop down menu.
  15. Create an auto populated playlist and select favourites and the platforms you want in the fields.
  16. Nope. Some extra cosmetic features mainly and some extra scripting that makes some of the more difficult emulators a little easier to setup but that is the rarity. There is no trial but if you find it's not working the way you expect it to you can ask for a refund, Jason is very good about providing them to people. Extremely active, Jason works on it full time as his job, this isn't a hobby for him. Well I guess it's is hobby cause he loves but he gets paid to do it, It's not a side project for him at all. This is the short list of the current things being worked on right now, once these are done Jason will put out a poll which will have all sorts of new features for people to vote on for the next year or so.
  17. Ok, that makes more sense and I would suggest submitting a feature request for it here: https://bitbucket.org/jasondavidcarr/launchbox/issues/new
  18. PS2 is still easy to find, XBox is about the same as it always was but PS3 is and always was difficult because technically speaking they are still "new" games so sites are not so inclined to have them. They are out there though.
  19. This is already doable unless either I am completely misunderstanding what you are asking for or you aren't explaining it properly. I did a test here where selected a bunch of games and started up the bulk edit tool. I then typed in a custom genre simply called "Generic Game" just as an example. From there I could then select multiple genres from the drop down menu to go along with it, I tagged Action just as an example.I finished out the bulk edit wizard and checked a game and sure enough it had both genres associated to it. Like I said, maybe i'm misunderstanding what you are asking for or you aren't explaining this correctly but based on what you are saying this is already very much doable.
  20. Feel free to submit a feature request. Feel free to make your own custom genres in LB and edit your games to suit your needs.
  21. Yeah, how would you propose you bulk edit games and each one have different genres ?
  22. You can select multiple genres in the bulk edit wizard.
  23. Your guess is as good as anyones, this is just how the naming of gaming genres is going to be with so many different genres and cross over of genres. To go along with this if anyone tried to come up with some sort of "Official Genres" you would have a massive debate over what games fit into what genre. Fortunately in Launchbox you can edit each game and it's genre tags to suit your opinions and you can even type in your own custom genre if you like.
