Thanks, that just cleaned up over 19,000 images.

In the end it actually didn't download any doubles. But since my previous install had more boxes unchecked it didn't have to search through around 2,000 games. So I have that much unneeded stuff downloaded. If there isn't a way it would be cool if there was a way to delete artwork that's not needed anymore. Now to go through and figure out which games I want to play need CHD's and locate those.

So i had removed my old install from LB and I'm now in the process of scraping my non merged folder. I just happened to notice that when I deleted my old install it left a folder in arcade full of images from the previous install. Will it download all the images and I end up with a folder full of doubles? right now I ended up having a bunch more boxes checked for this install so I'm sure there will be a ton of games that won't be loaded with artwork that won't mean anything anymore. What folder or folders do I delete so I can remove unwanted junk images and game descriptions? I hope that makes sense what I'm talking about.

Ok I swear last question for today. I watched the video on how to add a split set to LB is it the same steps with the non merged set?

Oh lord I thought a 4tb drive would be more than enough for all my gaming wants and needs. MAME and the awesome launchbox tutorials on YouTube are gonna fill this drive up fast. My current computer is about the size of an old vcr and can only hold one hard drive. I either need a larger drive or a new case so I can add more drives. I built this computer with the intent of modding oblivion, Skyrim, and the fallout games. I haven't even done that yet.

I'll remember to grab the correct download. In fact I may just say screw split and go with non merged.

Nice I just found a website that I think lists all the games that are in MAME and the rom name. That will make picking and choosing easier if I end up doing that.

HOLY SHIT! I just looked and non merged is double. Didn't even notice that before. Maybe I'll give that a try sometime in the future when I finally add it to LB.

Are the folders for the games in the non merged set named like the game or does it have the weird naming like I’ve seen in the split set? For now I just wanted to get MAME up and running outside of LB first. I thought that split would let me pick and choose when I got things working, but the naming of the zipped folders confused me. For games that need a CHD file if I want to pick and choose the chd file what would I look for on that site?

As usual thanks for the help. I did just a quick test this morning and the few games I tried that didn't seem to work before worked. Now I need to figure out which games I want to load in LB. I think I'll skip mechanical games since it probably needs certain hardware I don't have.

Are the steps for setting up MAME in the first post still working? I orinally setup my MAME system by putting MAME64.exe and all the files in a MAME folder and the roms in the roms folder inside the MAME folder. I then saw in the first post that I could put MAME in my emulators folder and the roms in my games folder inside LB. I then did the steps to create a MAME.ini and on the roms line pointed to my roms folder now. I tried a game that worked earlier and now it doesn't start up. This morning I found the 204 split file and I'm currently downloading that. I plan to start over by deleting MAME all together and starting fresh with the most current set. Am I able to follow the first post to setup the UI before moving on to LB, or do the roms need to be placed in the roms folder?

Is there a way with Big Box inside the Arcade/MAME playlist to have it display systems and then that display games? In LB it has the option to display the system and I can see the games in that system. But I'm having trouble with BB figuring out what to do.

So after several hours of LB scraping I ended up with just over 4,000 games added to my library. Of the ones I checked a large majority of them didn't seem to work. I wish there was an easy way to tell which ones won't load and play.

Honestly once we find a new house with a basement it will be easier to build a home theater room and game spot. The wife gave me permission to do what I want with the basement if we ever find one. All she's asked for is a room for herself. Where we live now I just don't have the room for any kind of cabinet system.

Well than, that will save some time and space. Wish I knew where to find the current MAME split set. Google only gave me 193.

Currently I'm at 3,120 games spread over 9 systems. I have NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, Sega Genesis, Dreamcast, Playstation, PS2, and Steam. I'm currently working on MAME 0.193 and we'll see how many thousands that will add. After that it's on to the Nintendo handhelds and CPS1&2, I couldn't find CPS3 anywhere. I want to add the Wii and WiiU but the way my system is set up the computer is located in the back of our family room 12 feet from the tv. unless the Dolphin Bar can work with a usb cable to extend the cable I won't be able to play those games.

DAMMIT!!!!! this makes me want the room to build an arcade cabinet even more. Currently my game computer is hooked up to our TV in the family room and I use that to play all my games. I need to convince my wife to let me use our small linen closet to place a standup arcade cabinet.

Hahaha I knew after I posted that would be your answer. What I meant is what do I need to do in LB to get the game title to show up like that on a separate screen? Is it a LB setting or something else?

Where can I find that marquee setup? While I don't have the room to do that yet this would be something cool to do in the future.

I didn't see a topic asking this and I'm having trouble. I have a couple of roms that or labeled as 2.0 or something similar as well as the 1.0 version. When I went to add a new game a long list of other games came up but launchbox only loaded the new game I put in my folder. How do I add the v2 games without it possibly doubling my library? Will checking the add duplicate games just add the v2 games when I search for new roms?

That explains why I was having trouble. I followed the steps on a YouTube video and they used the stable build instead of the current development build. The current build works with a lot more of my games I own. So far Incredible Hulk has some graphics issues but nothing major too major.

So I ended up upgrading to one of the more current builds from yesterday and it seemed to fix my problem with this game and another one that was giving me problems. Lordmonkus, were you using the 1.4.0 stable build or a different one?
