yeap, I have been waiting for this feature for a long time, I hope it comes to life :)

I'm sure there's more than 12 people (votes on the bitbucket page) who would enjoy this feature.  I bet a lot of people don't even know about the bitbucket stuff, or are too lazy to register for yet another site lol.  I wish you could just vote here, I feel like really good features aren't receiving enough eyes on them because they are lost in bitbucket.

  2. I put this feature request up on bitbutcket, and it was one of 4 duplicates of the following issue: https://bitbucket.org/jasondavidcarr/launchbox/issues/1877/controller-autoconfigs

Apparently it is a 4 year old issue/feature request to be able to map each controller individually because for example, button 1 isn't the same button across all usb controllers that a user might have plugged in.  I still use my keyboard for this reason.  I can never remember what button 1 is on another controller, so I inevitably end up hitting the wrong button and stuff goes wrong.  If launchbox/bigbox could just show us a list of all the controllers we have plugged in, and then let us map each one, it would make navigation with any controller 100% seamless.

I just spent the weekend loading up my collection of PS4 games into Launchbox.  I am using Launchbox to track my inventory of games...

What I have noticed is that there is no standards when it comes to images.  For example, I set the Image Group to boxes, and I get a variety of images.  60% are actual PS4 box covers, others are just the picture from the box, others are just a small banner.  Images of different sizes, shapes, etc.

As well, when I tried to load my own image it complains that it ran out of memory when displaying the image.

    A couple of questions:

1 - Are there guidelines for image size, pixels, contents when it comes to loading images to the games database?

2 - If there is, does anybody actually monitor and audit the entries to ensure they meet the standards?

I think they shoot for higher quality vs. lower quality, but the games database just has so much, that I think a lot of things slip through the cracks.  With thousands upon thousands of games, I can understand it.  I had to upload my own advertisement flyers for some arcade games that had wrong flyers, were missing entirely, or had the wrong image. Is your image like 55 million pixels or something?  I've had some pretty large images that I have used before, and it never complained of memory issues.

I've got a fully self configured, self collected and working 12TB setup with HyperSpin and RocketLauncher and has 180 systems, 7500 game themes and about 13000 bezels for different systems (not only MAME or RetroArch..

I recently purchased a Big Box license just to see if it's really that great what everybody says. I did a test on my other pc with only Windows games and that wasn't that hard and is looking very good. Downloaded some theme videos too.

But I'm not sure if I want to start all over with configuring 180 systems cause I already see some things that aren't that easy. Or maybe they are but I can't see it yet.

For example all the system.xml files. Yes I can import the current ROM folders and create LB romlist files but what about all the extra info that was in there? I searched here but I couldn't find a converter tool.

Then I have all those game themes that aren't theme videos like in LB, but gamename.zip but I read that the HS crew wasn't happy if LB could use those files, so can't use them anymore.

Last thing, all my bezels for all different kind of systems that aren't MAME or RetroArch will be useless? Or maybe they can be managed if I can integrate LB with RL somehow.

Does anyone know if there is a tutorial step by step for converting from HS/RL to LB/RL?

I haven't ever stopped using rocketlauncher, so I can give you some pointers on that sometime if you want.  When I first switched over I moved all my media into the appropriate folders of launchbox (box front, back, disc, cart, etc.)  and then when I imported the romsets I didn't select any media from the scrapers, and it matched pretty well.  The awesome thing about launchbox is that you won't have to mess with any xml crap, you just rick click and get to the media window and from there you can manually point to any missing media from your HQ Hyperspin set that actually is in the folder, that LB just missed.  Since you are running through Rocketlauncher, the only thing you will be doing by importing your romset into launchbox, is setting up all the metadata, and images and videos.  It will all still run through rocketlauncher just like it does right now.

As it turns out, this was not a LB/BB problem.  I had the Bezel files in a folder called "MAME" which was linked for Hyperspin.  LB is setup as "Arcade".  So I created a folder called "Arcade", under RL/Media/Bezels with all of them and I was in business.

Yup!  I remember noticing that Launchbox had folders for Arcade, so when I linked rocketlauncher and Launchbox together I noticed Rocketlauncher populated an Arcade system instead of MAME like it used to with Hyperspin.

Strangely enough, Super Mario Run and Dr. Mario work on NOX. It's just Mario Kart that produces an error. Other than that, NOX works fine for me at least.

Well that's good news.  I couldn't do Mario run before on bluestacks.  But that was a long time ago that I even messed with android emulation.

Ws this question directed at me? I don't know anything in detail about these emulators. NOX was the first I tried and it worked, so I stuck with it. The only game that I can't seem to get running on any Android Emulator is Mario Kart Tour.

Yes it was.  Just curious if you had any opinions on it.  I have tried bluestacks, and it's extremely slow.  But every other one I tried in the past, didn't have any links that you could point launchbox to.  But look like NOX has a way to do it.  I may give it a shot.  I think Nintendo has their games locked down pretty well.  Somehow it senses that even though it is a legit android operating system, it isn't a true mobile device.

New to bigbox and this theme is my favorite so far. Quick question, im more of a 3d box art fan over the standard covers is there a way to change them over?

I think you would have load up the community theme creator with the bannerbox image template and change the image it looks for to the 3d box category so it pulls from your 3d box folder, and then run the batch image creator for all your systems.  I think everyone who has every made a bannerbox banner has used the standard 2d boxes so far, so that's the only type of asset available currently.  I just spent 6 months finishing my entire setup, so it's not something I'm up for, but it can be done.

The same options are available in Bigbox i believe.

oh ok, I found that,...but it doesn't look like it is per platform right?  Just a generalized setting for the entirety of bigbox? Or is the launchbox setting the same also.  I've only been looking in my arcade platform,...but I suppose it is also generalized in launchbox, since it's just one menu item to tick.  I can just hide individual games then I guess.

Yeah, Arcade64 isnt supported, it was initially but not for long, we needed to tighten up to try as best we can to prevent cheating.

a ha. ok then, that makes sense.  So no derivatives are supported now?

  11. 6 minutes ago, neil9000 said:

Yes there is. If its not showing that could be for several reasons. You are not using the standard MAME emulator, you have cheats enabled or have altered dipswitches, you dont have hi scores showing in the theme you are using, or the theme you are using doesnt support them.

It's just the default launchbox theme.  Changed to arcade64 back when the high score feature was implemented because my old mameuifx wasn't compatible.  Everything is default and it showed up back when the feature first came out.  But I haven't looked at my arcade platform until this last week, and didn't notice the high score leaderboard not showing in game details until today.

    Hi @damageinc86

The TAITO X emulator is RH LOADER.

The initial start up screen is red and black and says virus

It's not a virus. I don't know why the developer made the software this way.

There is an .INI file that you have to open to agree to the terms and then the warning goes away and the games work.

You'll then need to run the "Game Loader Config" then do the following below:

    Windows 10, "C: \ Users \ USER NAME \ AppData \ Roaming \ Game Loader All RH \ TTX.ini"
Windows XP, "C: \ Documents and Settings \ USER NAME \ Application Data \ Game Loader All RH \ TTX.ini"

-Open TTX.ini with notepad and modify this:

    [Ignore]
    Warning=agree

And then run the "Game Loader Installer"

Yeah I started to get the feeling that it was just a silly thing, but since this is my first time ever checking taito type x out, I was curious if there were any sets that were straightforward and worked, and just "ready to go" by now.  I noticed austin had one game in my set that worked when I opened the batch file, and rotated everything correctly with his custom made bezel.  I thought that was cool.  But most of the other games didn't do anything.  I'll try to give it another shot, thanks for your help.
