I used to hate it. Then I figured it out. Now it's amazing. Fade screens, bezels and universal pause completely change an Arvade experience. Check my video if you haven't seen any of those features.

Hi guys, I was wondering what everyone thought about an extra layer in Big Box. Currently I have 60 real platforms and 5 playlists. It takes a while to scroll through. I love that LaunchBox has the groupings (arcade, console, handhelds, etc...). It would be great if we could apply those to Big Box as well. Then we would gave up to 4 layers: Platform Category, Platforms, Games, Game Details. Both Game Details and Platform Category views can be turned off (as game details can today). This layer (coupled with a couple of James Baker videos) would be awesome and would be unique to LB/BB. just a thought

Thank you! I LOVE lightgun games but I feel like it is never working properly. I had an arcade light gun which sucked then I used a dolphon bar with a wiimote which was hit or miss. What are you using?

Perfect. I actually shared my custom playlists earlier in the week in the forums. Not sure if anyone used them or not but I love the idea that we can share.

Will this functionality work for already imported collections?

Thank you - I did it this way and only got 79 games or so. The functionality is great, the only issue is that not every game scrapes complete meta data. I would say only a small percentage or my Arcade roms have "publisher" filled out.

Also with the logic you have in the screeenshot "developer equals capcom" - would it be every cap on game in LaunchBox (regardless of platform)? Or can I specify capcom games within the arcade platform?

So is that how you are going to do a "capcom" classics wheel? I thought Jason's last video said LB would make its own. I am waiting for the pre made ones but if not I will follow this method. I just don't know if every single capcom game should be included or if there is some real logic behind "classics". Does the Hyperspin XML just have every game or did they identify the "best" ones? Also - How do you manage playlists without clicking on a game first? Where can I start a new playlist from scratch?

Yea just playlists. The media comes from the individual platforms. The main theme video is one of the bigbox theme videos for street fighter 2. Just scrape all of your media for bigbox theme videos and the recorded Hyperspin themes. I wish I was better at creating media so I could make a proper platform video for street fighter. Hi All, This is a quick video of my BigBox setup. I have every platform setup to launch through RocketLauncher. Launching with RocketLauncher gets me: Fade in with custom frame and gif art for each platform and custom background for each game Fade out with a "game over" message Bezels for each system and in certain cases each game Universal pause which brings me: ability to pause any game from any screen pull up manuals, guides, music, videos, and artwork directly from the pause menu I also have 4 custom platforms - All games for that category regardless of platform Street Fighter Collection Ninja Turtle Collection Mortal Kombat Mario Party I definitely want to do more but the hardest part is finding an appropreate "platform" video that looks right. Retrohumaniod has been a HUGE help with all of his media and tutorials to get the RocketLauncher stuff working. I recommend using LB follow him on YouTube and Twitter. His media is beautiful and he provides it all for free. I am hoping to add more platform and bring more game themes into the fold.

I just recorded my setup to post here and when I watched the video (recorded with CamStudio) it was jittery. The file was also massive at 4GB or like 4 minutes

Are your recording available for download anywhere? On Emu Movies FTP I only see arcade systems, about 150 snes games, a couple of game boy and a couple of game boy color. Ultimately I want recorded themes for every game but right now I am looking for Mario party in 16:9 and Super Mario Bros. I set up playlists for those "platforms" and need a nice platform video. Someone made a Super Mario Bros. Hyperspin wheel and theme so I was hoping I could record it (attached). Super Mario.zip

Hi All, With the addition of playlists I have set up 2 playlists - Mario Bros. and Mario Party. I was able to find a Hyperspin theme for a Mario Bros. collection that I will try to record but I cannot find anything for Mario Party. Can someone make a Mario Party platform theme or at least a game theme that I can re-purpose? Any help is appreciated - I have re-purposed a Street Fighter and a Mortal Kombat game theme for the same reason. Thank you!

Hi All, Hoping someone can help. I am wondering if I can mix and match views from different themes. For example, I love one of the RetroFresh platform views but I prefer the CriticalZone Game views. Anyway I can mix and match? Thank you!

Are hot key combinations working for you guys? after the last 2 upgrades my "start select to close" combination isn't working, no matter how many times i reset it.
