I uploaded an updated version which automatically scans all passed parameters to see if its the game-file, making it position independent. This way it will also work with RocketLauncher.

I had a quick go with RL but could you please test it with your setup?

Sure will, when I get back later today.

Do you want logs from both applications, or just yours?

I updated to cemu 1.6b and it stopped working in launchbox I read the forums and found you have to have

    -f for full screen

-g to make cemu run the game

    in the command parameters

    hope it helps someone

I appreciate the -g command; previously was just using -f and was only getting a gray screen with 1.6 now.

By the way, I am a Patron (Patreon donator) and we're up to 1.6...where are you getting 1.6b? The public release is 1.5.6b - is that the version you meant? If so, the -g -f settings are required in 1.6 as well.

  3. I have the logs from RL using PCSX2 and using LaunchBoxPCSX2.

When I did a comparison, the PCSX2 log is significantly longer, mostly because PCSX2 is actually launched.

Besides some initial differences (i.e. your application gives some details to RL regarding FileDescription, FileVersion, etc that PCSX2 doesn't pass) the only difference up until the log ends for the LaunchBoxPCSX2 version is where it says Module initialized - see below:

    LaunchBoxPCSX2:

    					Modified: 9/12/2016 - 9:05:19 PM

    16:27:52:161 | RL | INFO | +0 | Main - Running module

    PCSX2:

    					Modified: 9/12/2016 - 9:05:19 PM

    16:25:33:582 | RL | INFO | +0 | Main - Running module

    16:25:33:747 | MD | INFO | +N/A | Module initialized

After this the PCSX2 log continues for about 2600 more lines. The LaunchBoxPCSX2 log ends after the Main - Running module line and the LaunchBoxPCSX2 error box comes up.

For the record the application info section differenece (which I'm almost positive is irrelevant) is

    LaunchBoxPCSX2:

    16:27:52:116 | RL | DEBUG | +16 | CheckFile - Attributes:

    Gentlemen,

Is this already a topic in the Issues/Suggestions list at BitBucket? I'd like to vote it up if so, but could not find this specific topic.

Came here looking for just this capability in light of the new platform videos being produced by some members. Lots of good ones, and the ability to have multiple copies, much like how the game videos are done (i.e. game-02.mp4, game-02.mp4 or platformName-01.mp4, platformName-02.mp4) would be great. Lets us use all the great submissions, and doesn't get stale by viewing the same video consistently.

  5. @XoRRoX Is there any reason it wouldn't work when launching through RocketLauncher?

Works fine when I replace the pcsx2.exe in the file execuatable command in LaunchBox, but in RocketLauncher when I point the emulation file location to LaunchBoxPCSX2 instead of PCSX2 it (LaunchBoxPCSX2) gives an error box saying "Game File not passed as last parameter or not passed at all."

I'm guessing the ahk file for launching PCSX2 passes some additional information for PCSX2 after the ROM file, which is messing up LaunchBoxPCSX2's expected command.

Yeah, he meant Saturn. I still can't do it through Retroarch. The only game I've gotten to work for Saturn was Sonic 3D Blast and that was through SFF and Retroarch.

D'oh; I'd been working with both Dreamcast and Saturn updates in RA. Mixing up the cores isn't going to help anyone.

One comment on Saturn; I was looking at @lordmonkus's YouTube on Mednafen for Saturn, and commented that I could not get the Mednafen core to work in RA, although the games worked fine with the Mednafen stand-alone. I had the correct Saturn BIOS files (confirmed through md5) in the RA/System directory but it would just kick me back to RA (or Launchbox) whenever I'd try to play a Saturn game using the Mednafen core in RA.

Turns out that somewhere along the line my RA stopped looking in the System directory for BIOS file by default.

I posted a quick solution/tips on my site if you need details on how to specify the correct folder for RA to look for the BIOS files. You can set it either universally or per-core.

    http://www.timekills.org/2016/09/09/mednafen-core-for-sega-saturn-emulation-through-retroarch/

As above, Mednafen is no contest the best Saturn emulator right now. The RA core is a little limited in controller emulation (IIRC it does the standard/analog but not the digital controller emulation) but that is temporary.

I didn't want to deal with RA because:

    - I may not want to use the specific emulators and settings it offers for some platforms.

    - I feel that there will always be better stand alone emulators and stand alone video/other configurations than what is included in RA

    - I feel like I have a handle on stand alone emulator video/other configs and what they mean, but i'm clueless with RA and don't really want to learn everything in there.

    - I don't want yet another layer of abstraction in my setup.

This is perhaps a bit off topic, but your point #2 (better stand alone emulators) may be true for a short time, but that's the beauty of RA's cores. Most - definitely most significant - stand alone emulators get a core version in RA. So you're getting the capability of the stand alone with the convenience of a common configuration for controllers, adding visual effects, etc.

  8. @timekills, the semi colon is a per line comment. only the first line has the comment. maybe the formatting is just messed up on the forum. there are supposed to be several lines.

Tracking; the formatting on Tapatalk made it seem as if it were all a one line command.

I figured you hadn't missed that, but after trying to fix problems/debug for hours I've often over looked the "duh" solution. [emoji15] [emoji34] [emoji9]

Sorry, I misunderstood. I thought you meant load them through RA through LB, That works but slowly. Stand alone Mednafen doesn't work through anything

To be clear, when you load the Dreamcast Saturn image through LaunchBox using RetroArch, which *core* are you using? It sounds like you might be using a different core than the (new) Mednafen.

That would explain why it works, but slowly. Yabause core is less picky than the new Mednafen, but also significantly slower.

  10. Ok, looks like modifying the autohotkey script from its default did the trick when launched via batch file!

So I replace the default script created by Launchbox and add this one:

    $Escape::Process, Close, demul.exeExitAPPreturn

It used to be this one which does NOT work:

    ; This section closes Demul when pressing Escape$Esc::{    Process, Close, {{{StartupEXE}}}}

So far, I can finally use LB for Dreamcast given these changes.

Did the original statement still have the semi-colon ( ; ) in front of it? Because it would not be executed if it did, even if it would have worked.

I.E. the original statement might be fine if the ; (which makes it a comment instead of active) is removed.

Request: BigBox remain active when not application in focus.

Request: Multi monitor capability - while remaining active while not in focus :)

Mods: Might suggest moving or deleting this thread; adding to feature request through LaunchBox.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Original post below:

Is there a way to have BigBox attract mode continue to run when a different application is the focus application?

If not clear, I mean when you run LaunchBox/BigBox, including when it goes into "attract mode", it will pause if you switch to a different application.

On a multi monitor setup I'd like to have it still run while I'm working on something else on the other monitor.

Is there a setting I'm missing that has it pause when focus is switched?

  12. All the files are in the temp folder. The GDI, BIN and RAW stuff.

I wonder if it's looking in the temp directory for the .gdi main file, but then going back to the original directory for the associated files.

Similar to if you let LaunchBox move the game file to the Games directory under LaunchBox it will only move the one file you associated with the game, not all the additional files needed.

You could test it by only zipping the .gdi file and leaving the other files uncompressed in the original directory.

Well, i did one more test here, and i think maybe my collection can be the problem or the way they are compressed.

I found one game that will launch properly with every emulator i get configured. Now i can't find the reason why other games won't play compressed, i wasn't wanting to extract them due to free space issue on my external hard drive.

By the way, the only game that work are zipped, but have just one file compressed that is a CDI Image, so it doesn't look for other files. All my other games have GDI and other track stuff like BIN, RAW files etc. Maybe launchbox isn't sending the "GDI file" trying to load and another thing like the BIN or RAW?

Edit: Found another compressed game with a single file (CDI) inside and this one loaded too without issues. Maybe having more than one file compressed is giving me troubles.

When the zipped file is decompressed, are all the files in the temp folder, or just the *.gdi file?
