  1. So you're using the standard MAME emulator, not the core in Retroarch? I still can't get this to work, either in Retroarch or the regular emulator. I've got the 5 bios files. I added the "gp32 -memc" like suggested. Was there anything additional needed?
  2. You can replace the original Launchbox ScummVM with the new update, no problem. I did and haven't encountered an issue (other than adding the new games not in LB's database yet like Blade Runner). It carried over the old config stuff without me doing anything other than copy/replace.
  3. Ok thanks for the instructions. Hopefully, the devs can the update the settings and new codes when they get some time.
  4. Hi there, can we add the new ScummVM games to the "What game is it?" section for the built-in ScummVM emulator?? I can get Blade Runner to play if I run the emulator manually... but if I run it through Launchbox I get a game data error. I don't use batch files to run the ScummVM games, I just point Launchbox to my game folder under the "scummvm" tab... then I select "What game is it?" and select it from the list. I'm thinking because Blade Runner is not in the list (forcing me to select a random game), I'm getting the error? I've got 28 other scumm games that all work perfectly using this method, I could never get the method used in the Youtube tutorials to work for me. Any help would be appreciated! thx ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Oct. 11, 2019 ScummVM Team is thrilled to announce the release of ScummVM version 2.1.0. 5. Just to add to the thread.... the CHD files for Neo Geo CD work perfectly with LordMonkus's tutorial, as well (using MESS 0.198). Thanks for going through the steps here, big help!!
  6. Sonic Adventure .cdi plays fine in Demul.
  7. If you have 3 bin + 1 gdi, I think it has to be compressed into 1 gdi file. Because your gdi is only 1kb. I don't think that's right and the emulator is trying to run that gdi file. Look for another download that is 1 single gdi file. Or 1 bin + 1 cue
  8. Maybe try getting a .cdi instead. a .cdi should just be one single file per disc. Do a google search for "resident evil 3 nemesis RDC" and i'm pretty sure those are single file .cdi
  9. Should the .gdi file be only 1kb? What game is it, Dumy? Que juego?
  10. I'm a total noob and it took little effort to get Demul to work. It runs Dreamcast flawlessly for me, I'm still so blown away. I'm at the point where if I see a flaw or a game won't run, I'll be surprised and assume it's the game file.
  11. Thank you!! You know, I didn't realize that I could have more than one path for "roms and bios" .... but that's obviously what "add" means there on the gui. Doh!! I had my bios folder separately from my games folder, so I was only pointing the program to the one folder, not both. It's working now through Launchbox!! And Demolish Fist works! (odd though, that it gives that particular error msg, even when you can clearly see that ax0601p01.ic18 file inside the zip contents) Thanks for your help, sometimes just talking it out can do it. Have a nice weekend!
  12. It's weird because I can get Atomiswave working fine. It works, plays perfect. Under these conditions: 1. Open Demul outside of LB 2. Copy each atomiswave game to root rom directory So my bios must be correct, right? However, if I try to run the game "demofist" (Demolish Fist) through LaunchBox, I get this:
  13. Hey Lordmonkus, I was having a similar issue as the original poster trying to get Atomiswave going, HOWEVER.... I think mine can be fixed with some command line help, perhaps. First off, I have Demul running fine... I have Dreamcast games running flawlessly through Launchbox. For DC, I can click on a game from my Launchbox library page and it'll load up and play fine. For Sammy Atomiswave, if I click on a game, it just opens up the Demul program. Nothing else. Now, if I go the program's preferred route, and put my Atomiswave games in the emulator's root ROM directory, then everything works great. Open the app, run the game. Easy. So I know my BIOS stuff and plugin mapping is all good. But that's using Demul outside of Launchbox. And I got all my games on an external hard drive, and want to use it through Launchbox.... since it's so pretty and nice to me. What am I missing here? Things I've tried: 1. I created a 2nd Demul in LB... I called it "Demul [Arcade]" -- I hope to run all those sega ones thru here, naomi, naomi 2, gaelco, hikaru, cave... what else? For now, only regular dreamcast games work for me. 2. I've got the standard Associated Platform stuff set up and set as default, with this command line: -run=awave -rom= 3. I've tried a series of combinations of "don't use quotes" and "no space before ROM" and "use file name only w/o extension." With one of those combos, I get a similar error like the OP up top, "unable to find mpr-2193.ic501 in romset awave" or whatever it is... Thanks for any help!!!
  14. Hey Brad, jumping on to add "me too." Just updated to 7.8 and encountered this issue. Like everyone here, the Emumovies website lets me sign on, no prob.
  15. Oh, for sure, stay current. Contribute to the industry. I've got dozens of PS3 and PS4 games on my shelf in front of me and dozens more I've downloaded from their stores. And I purchased all of the games I have roms for, too, back when they were brand new. But there should be a line drawn about sharing data online so that the awful truth of it is always front and center...... no one was ever going to buy Princess Tomato in the Salad Kingdom for the NES. Not back in 1991 and 25 years later, any money paid for that game isn't going to the original developer. These machines die and we bring them back to life. And maybe Tomato's next project you buy on your shiny handheld or whatever. Look at what the GDEmu developer has done for reviving the Dreamcast scene... look at the prices on eBay for his Saturn kits, the RHEA and Phoebe are going for like $600 and up.... all just because gamers want to continue to enjoy these one-time expensive machines.... with their expensive software that is now readily available for all. Like a beloved painting on public display rather than some old dude's study. And as we see these digital files, even when encased in cartridge or compact disc form, are just bits of data. They're like baseball cards. Completely worthless. And we can do it ourselves.... so acting like emulating a 3 megabyte retro classic for the new 8-core next-gen machine and charging $19.99 again after you bought it on the three previous systems.... is probably not a good business model to adopt.
  16. In reality, a lot of content on a small corner shelf.... better than having all that stuff in real life sitting on your shelves, imo. I admire the guys on YouTube showing off their mega rooms of wall-to-wall vg's, but one day, you'll feel that weigh on you. Gotta learn to let go sometimes. Sell it off. All of it. Go digital. We've all spent real dough on the current gem systems at whatever time they were current, put in our share. If they didn't wanna give us a way to preserve the games and machines... and cry when we figure it out for ourselves...? That's ok, Rom City here I come. Permanent tenant. Me. And now you have guys like Sony... who aren't interested in backwards compatibility anymore... thinking that it's a fair argument to sell a digital download of Final Fantasy 7 for the PS3... and when PS4 or PS5 or PS6 come out... tell the consumer, well, that was different architecture. You gotta pay for the emulation with the new machine. That makes no sense when like a damn Hauwei android gingerbread could run their game just the same, essentially a decade earlier.
  17. UPDATE 3: Crisis averted!! Thanks for your help, guys. ROMS are importing and video playback started working with the VLC option clicked. The Windows Media Player option gives me a black screen with the audio playing, no video. Also of note..... the 4TB WD My Passport Ultra has issues with LaunchBox... contributing to the "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" error msg when importing ROMs. UPDATE 2: Ok, it looks like in the Options settings, under Game Details.... "Videos" was not checked. This made it almost work... the video screen opens up in the right side details page.... I can hear it playing... but it's just a black screen. Now, I have some games importing... when it finishes, I'll relaunch LB and see if the videos play from that point. Also, I see there's a recommended VLC option for playback, Windows Media Player was set to default, I'll mess with this, too. UPDATE: One problem fixed, another one remains. So I moved LaunchBox off my external and onto a 1.5tb internal hard drive... not my C:\ Importing ROMs are working now!!! But.... it has crashed my system twice so far, right when the red bar is at about 95%. I've started with all the easy stuff first. I'm not looking forward to adding PS2, Dreamcast, etc... I'll worry about this later. However, EmuMovies videos are not syncing into Launchbox....... they are being downloaded successfully. I see them in my folders. I have all the folders contained within the LaunchBox folder, all to where they save by default. This is on the internal HD now.
  18. Ok, I'll try changing the drives. Originally had it on the C: working perfectly. But with now having EmuMovies, I just assumed more media files would be downloaded as I re-imported the rom collection back into LB.... so I switched LB to a 4tb drive. What's weird is that for the first two systems I entered roms for... they worked. Notice on the picture in the op, you see the 32X games there. Amiga games loaded up, as well.... all on the 4tb. Next, I tried whatever system.... and started getting this error message. I can't even get Game Boy Color and I had maxed out my 2tb of games before... so PS2, Dreamcast, everything was working fine before. Also of note, just days ago I signed up for the $60 lifetime EmuMovies account. I was getting a second error message, as well, that I've tried to get handled on their boards. The guy just got back to me and asked me to sync my account with their download service and it worked flawlessly. Here is the error msg: "An error occurred while trying to parse EmuMovies for EmuMovies.DownloadServiceApi+System Music Media: Unexpected end tag. Line 7, position 3." Thanks again for your help! I know you guys are busy.
  19. Ok understandable. If you hear from him, though, let him know my mom kinda thinks I'm a big deal. So.... front of the line?
  20. Any LaunchBox bros out there that can help? You guys are 0 for 2 now.... my troubleshooting questions go completely ignored. I'm giving you the exact error message and photos to help. No love for a Premium member??
  21. Launchbox version 6.11 Windows 7 sp1 64-bit OS Hey guys, major issue with my Launchbox all of a sudden. When importing new roms, I'm getting this error message: "Could not import game from ROM file <NAME OF GAME.FILE>: Object reference not set to an instance of an object." Background: I have roughly 2tb of games in my library... they were all set up in Launchbox and running fine previously. Everything worked great. 1. Roms were getting full on my 2tb external hd, so this week I moved them all to a 4tb external hd. 2. I then signed up for EmuMovies, got the $60 lifetime membership. 3. Next, I moved the Launchbox application (and accompanying folders) onto my spare 2tb external hd, knowing that with EmuMovies, I'd be downloading a bunch of junk, imgs, videos, etc. 4. Opened Launchbox, with a now empty library, and began adding my collection in. I got through Amiga games and Sega 32X and those loaded up perfectly. But every ROM folder I've tried after that has given me this issue since. (And these are the same exact roms that were loaded and working on Launchbox previously) Clearly all the moving around has short-circuited some of the gadgets and gizmos. Help me, Launchbox Community, you're my only hope!
  22. When launching Launchbox and the automatic update popup comes up... when it's finished downloading, it gives me an error msg saying the "source file is corrupt" Any help would be greatly appreciated.
