Just for clarification, I thought a valid license grants you updates until the expiration date, and after the expiration date, you can still use the software, but not get any further updates. Correct?

Starting with 7.11 beta 5 (and continuing with beta 6), LaunchBox Big Box Mode fails to display platform/playlist videos upon 1st boot from a shutdown state when a theme is applied. For example: I have the CityHunter theme applied. I have a Playlist (Arcade Favorites) set as my default view upon launch. I turn on my machine and it boots. Windows will login and auto run the BigBox .exe (manually starting it for the 1st time results in the same issue). My startup video plays fine. BigBox Mode then opens and it'll do 1 of 2 things: it will display the Playlist with the theme, but NOT the platform/playlist video I have selected, or it'll open BigBox Mode to a completely black screen and sit there. When the 2nd scenario happens, I can move the joystick and hear the sound or press buttons and hear the sound. In either scenario, after 20 secs., BigBox Mode will shift to my games in the Arcade Favorites playlist and display everything properly. I can then press back and go back to the Playlist screen; lo and behold, everything displays properly (theme and video). If I then Exit BigBox Mode and go back to my desktop, and then back into BigBox Mode, everything runs perfectly fine. If I restart the PC, and let it run through the login, BigBox Mode startup, etc., everything runs perfectly fine. This problem only happens when a theme is applied and upon the 1st boot from a cold start. If Default is used, none of this happens. I have since reverted to the latest 7.10 official release, but the problem still exists. It might be tied to the .NET Framework 4.7 update that beta 5 & 6 required, however, since the problem does NOT happen in Default and only with a theme, the investigation needs to be what does a theme do differently than Default to cause this issue (or what does .NET 4.7 not like about themes)? I'm wondering if this bug is, in part, why platform videos in themes, fail to display at all when the machine come sup from a cold start? It'll either launch and not display the video or it'll launch and display only a black screen (sound will work on button presses and joystick movement).

Issue is still ongoing. Tried messing with theme options, but BigBox Mode fails to render anything when a theme is used from a cold boot state. Game videos work fine after the initial 20 sec. "rest" period, but I would prefer to have the platform/playlist view work properly upon first boot, everytime.

My attitude isn't "shitty" when a paid product becomes broken with a limited window to have a fix done. Reporting the bug via the program's reporting feature has resulted in 0 comments or updates from the program creator. Commenting in the beta thread results in the program creator giving minor care/comments on the issue.

I never stated others have reported, and, frankly, I don't care if others have reported it. I have stated, however, that this is impacting multiple themes (all the ones I've tested other than Default have this issue). Since this is a paid product, I expect bugs (small to you, big to others) to be evaluated and rectified. With the end of my Premium license coming soon, I would like for this issue to be rectified before my license expires. This was never an issue until the 7.11 beta 5 update. If it is related to a .NET Framework update (which was required by LaunchBox), so be it, but it is still a bug in the LaunchBox program (or a bug in the way themes are being generated for LaunchBox).

Well here's the problem with that mindset. 1. It has been reported for a while now. 2. Due to the licensing, I only have updates until July 25th, 2017 (so I might be stuck with a broken build of the program). 3. It is happening with ALL themes; only default works without issue.

Even going back to version 7.10 exhibits the same issue with all themes. There is a MAJOR bug in LaunchBox that needs to be addressed ASAP.

Well at least we know the problem is related to the latest releases of LaunchBox and should be addressed. The fact that pretty much all themes I try (and apparently other themes) are having issues point to LaunchBox being the culprit... Now if it is because LaunchBox requires a newer .NET, then whatever the Default theme does differently than custom themes needs to be found.

So far, any of the 3 themes I'd like to use experience the same problem from a cold machine boot...themes: CityHunter, CriticalZone, and Metallic

Anyone else experiencing theme issues with Launchbox Big Box mode since the release of beta 5?

I guess, but this only happens when using a theme (Default works perfectly fine with the video), and the game specific videos work fine as well. Once I close out of Big Box Mode and go back in, all videos work perfectly fine. If I Restart the system (not do a Shutdown), and Big Box Mode launches, it works perfectly fine as well. Doesn't matter if I use VLC or WMP for video rendering. In summary, this only happens when launching Big Box Mode for the first time from a cold boot. Beta 5, Beta 6 both do it. And, again, this only happens when a theme is applied (CityHunter, CriticalZone, and Metallic all exhibit this problem).

I posted this via the Report a Bug feature... Prior to this latest update (7.11 Beta 5) whenever my machine would boot and auto launch BigBox Mode, my Arcade Favorites platform would be my default view and its video would display. However, since the upgrade to the latest beta, when my machine auto launches Big Box Mode, it no longer displays anything on the screen (other than a black screen) for my Arcade Favorite default view. If I move my joystick around I can hear BigBox Mode functioning, but nothing is displayed. After about 20 secs., BigBox Mode will go to my games and display everything properly. Now, if I go back to the BigBox Mode menus and then re-launch my Arcade Favorites platform view, it loads everything fine. If I completely exit out of BigBox Mode and re-launch it, it works fine. This only seems to happen when the app launches for its initial time on a restarted machine. Latest beta (7.11 beta 5), Windows 10 Everytime since the upgrade (only when booting up the machine) This only seems to happen when I use the CriticalZone theme. NOTE: This continues to happen with beta 6 as well. Please advise. Thank you.

Did beta 6 address the startup issue I reported earlier in this thread? Haven't had a chance to update my system yet.
