  1. Yes, you are correct. But since it has been a few days without any updates, I decided to try you guys here. Thanks for the tip, I'll try that if nothing happens in the next 2 days, @DOS76
  2. Heya, I renewed my license for the second time a few days ago, but apparently my LB hasn't been able to fetch the 8.3 update, and is stuck using the 8.2 version. All "Update" checkboxes are ticked in the appropriate Settings section, but restarting the program doesn't prompt the updating as it should. The license was applied and recognized adequately by the program. So, is there any way to force an update without having to resort to a clean install?
  3. Again, huge props for @Lordmonkus for the excellent info. I'll have to pay you a pint one of these days =) I've set up Mupen64Plus without a hitch (The vulkan Retroarch core didn't work for me for some arcane reason). One question: how do we set up a controller for it? In the .cfg or do I have to use some frontend? Thanks!
  4. 19820, since I heavily pruned several gamelists. Will still add a few Saturn, PS2 and Dreamcast games, but I won't add my Steam/GOG libraries, which amount now to another 2k games. I prefer to keep those separate.
  5. Hm, looks like the issue here was that my BIOS names were capitalized, and these cores are very particular about that. Renaming them apparently did the trick =)
  6. Nope, no shader setup yet. I'll do some research about Beetle_HW in this regard. Thanks for the tip. Yeah, this is good to know. One question, though: aren't the Beetle cores branches of Mednafen?
  7. Mostly .pbp, but I also have .bin/cue games, which are producing the same results (frozen in black screen at launch).
  8. Hello, folks I am currently delving into PSX emulation on PC, and I would like to know your experiences with the current PSX emulators in Retroarch (Beetle, Beetle HW and PCSX ReARMed). The word on the street seems to be that Beetle HW is the best of the bunch, but for some arcane reason, I apparently cannot run it successfully. I am currently using RA 1.7.1, and everything is updated neatly. When I try to load content with the Beetle HW core loaded up, all I get is a screen pop and bam, back to desktop/Launchbox. So, I would like to hear from you about your experiences with it, while I try to fix this problem somehow. Thanks! EDIT 1 - Well, for some reason, my RA had the wrong folder for BIOS... now I can load the core, but the PSX games hang at startup, black screen. I'll now try to use the Quick Menu to fiddle with options and see what works.
  9. It's a 1060, so that shouldn't be a problem. I'll try tinkering with it a bit. Thanks for all the info posted in here!
  10. Yeah, that wouldn't make a lot of sense. Another question, please: I have hlsl enabled in the .ini file, and I have downloaded and replaced the raster file at ini/presets, but I still don't have the settings on by default when I load a ROM. Do you know what could be wrong here?
  11. Heya, Thanks for the info in here so far, quite useful! I am now running my arcade with the 191b MAME and romsets, and I wonder if we have any additional video enhancements for it over what was described above. Any hints?
  12. Yeah, I remember doing this when I last used Launchbox... so this should not have changed. I'll try to reset a collection and then I'll see what happens. Probably something changed during the updates and borked up the paths. Thanks for the assistance!
  13. Thanks for the tip. I was messing around over here and I did stumble upon this, but no cookie: even after reassigning it to Retroarch, games are not being opened when I hit Play. I opened Retroarch and everything looks ok... Launchbox has the correct path to it. Any ideas?
  14. Heya, After some time away from Launchbox, I was trying to play some games today and I discovered that none are launching from the main selection screen. Everything is in a Dropbox location, and hasn't changed since I've last played the games. Retroarch is in its correct path, and cores are updated. However, when trying to launch a game directly from the Launchbox collections, the program blinks for half a second and nothing happens. How can I force an emulator reassignment for whole collections (say, Arcade or SNES)? I don't remember having to specify cores from within collections. Thanks
  15. Did you also install Launchbox on Dropbox? I simply bit the bullet and reinstalled the program, and then added all my collection again. Time consuming, but that was the only 'solution' I managed to find.
  16. Hello, When I turned on my laptop today, I tried to launch Launchbox from the shortcut, to receive a message that the shortcut was trying to launch an executable file that wasn`t there anymore. Opening up the file explorer, yes, the launchbox.exe file was missing from the Launchbox folder in Dropbox. Luckily, I made a backup of the installation, and replaced the executable in the folder. This made Launchbox start up, only to show most of my platforms were missing, with the exception of Turbografx-16. This is the second time in a few days that a file disappears from the Launchbox folder on Dropbox. Any clues? Is there a way to restore the platforms without reimporting all the ROMS? Thanks
  17. Heya, First of all, this is a great piece of software, and has gotten me all giddy about organizing and cataloguing my Emulation collection. So, I installed Launchbox two days ago, added some emulators and some ROM libraries, all fine and dandy. Was playing some Blazing Lazers in the newly-installed Retroarch (was using Mednafen before), when I tried to load a savestate, and Retroarch locked up completely, and I lost the laptops keyboard (completely unresponsive, touchpad was still ok). After doing a hard reset, I tried to launch Launchbox again, and I`ve gotten the "Root element is missing" error message. No .xml in the Backup folder seemed to work. Any ideas, besides starting over? I attached the culprit here, if that`s any help. I`ll sleep on it before checking here later on, and maybe checking a couple .xmls myself. Thanks LaunchBoxcorrupt.xml
