  1. Oh, I didn't know you could save config files! That's an elegant solution, which I will certainly apply myself. I have used Steem for quite some time, but i'm still learning stuff - which is great!
  2. I forgot that I set up those games before merging of roms were a thing. Just merged them, and now it's all clean and tidy. I've set up so that any Atari ST games that needs two disks launches one instance of the emulator, but with both disks inserted, and without merging, it would get messy. Anyway, thanks for your help
  3. Yeah, they're the same extension, and moving them is of course possible, but not optimal I'll look for the request at bitbucket Thanks!
  4. Hi! Is there a way to tag a file as "always ignore this file", when importing roms in Launchbox? I have some roms that get launched by other roms when needed, and therefore doesn't need their own entry, but i would still like them to have them in that directory.
  5. I decided to make this video today, as i couldn't find any videos about the emulator at all, and even though it was made in 2004, it's a really good and versatile emulator. My first video ever uploaded, so be nice! I also hope more people try out Atari ST games - there's a lot of good games on there. It's a pity most of them (but not all!) had better ports elsewhere, so many just discard the system as a whole, maybe in favor of the almighty Amiga or something. Anyway, I hope the video can be of help
  6. I'm sorry then, I don't think I understand your question. What that video is previewing is the possibility to have playlists, in the newest version. They should sort alphabetically I guess ? I haven't gotten around to using it yet.
  7. Okay, so I'm picking up that what neil9000 said a couple of posts backs is true; So I guess that most people will just use playlists as an easy way to have a series or a genre together. Since I already have filled out all the fields for any game entry (with at least series and genre) those kinds of playlists are redundant for my setup. However, i'm enjoying seeing these suggestions, so just keep'em coming!
  8. Which view are you referring to? If you're referring to regular launchbox, you can use "Arrange By" in the upper right hand corner, and set it to Title.
  9. It should work for guns - it would work with just two tea lights, according to mulitple articles and videos i've seen online But the aimtraks (i haven't tried any others) comes with a sensor bar pr. gun - you only need one for multiple guns though Maverick's Arcade on youtube has a pretty thorough guide on how to to set it up.
  10. Aimtrak guns use the same technology as a wiimote, just a sensor bar placed on top ( I actually use my Dolphin bar for both the guns and four wii-motes ), so you can use it for any screen you'd like But yes, it is an investment..
  11. Lightguns playlist is a great idea, however, I already have Lightun games as their own genre. Could call them shooter, but nooo. Own genre, I feel. I actually have two aimtrak guns working with both MAME and PCSX2, as well as some PC games.
  12. Hah! Well That's quite a few games as I were born in '89, but i still have played lots of Atari ST and arcade games made long before that. I am, fortunately old enough to have had both the NES (it became popular later in Scandinavia than in the US i think), SNES, Sega Master System and the PS1. Good times!
  13. Haha, I got you going now! I'm loving that one!
  14. Yeah, i'm tinkering with it as we speak I do this with music playlists as well, instead of finding my own theme for a playlist, i'd rather use suggestions for themes or names from others, which i can make in to my own. I may be a drummer, a keyboard player and a programmer - but that's all my creative energy spent, haha I did a quick google search for game playlists, but guess what, only music playlists comes up! I guess that only proves once again that LaunchBox / BigBox stays one step ahead, and is awesome at being what it is. That playlist suggestion sure is a start!
  15. That's exactly my #firstworldproblem though - all my Zelda games (or Mario, Metroid, Final Fantasy, Pokémon, for that matter) are already sorted using the "Series" field. But I hope to see more suggestions as the thread goes on..
  16. I'm really excited about this new feature, however, when I sat down to actually make my first playlist, I didn't really have any ideas for a playlist, since most of the games are sorted in logical order anyway ( either by year, system, how many players, genre, etc). So, obviously i'd like to hear your suggestions and ideas for themed playlists!

    AutoHotKey

Thanks to you, I finally got it figured out!

    AutoHotKey

Hey! I'm trying to get an emulator (no$GBA) to press ctrl+r, for it to enable the noise supression on start - somehow it's not on by default, and it turns itself off whenever i exit the emulator. I'm would also like to assign the escape key to alt+x, since the emulator in question actually crashes if i press the escape key. What i have so far (keep in mind, I have just searched the web for this, I do not know how to write this script language properly..) SendMode, Input ; Sleep (How long to wait in milliseconds between moves.) SleepAmount = 1000 Sleep, %sleepamount% Send {ctrl}r Esc:: {Alt}x When I run the emulator, none of this happens. I've tried using just one at a time, and many other variations on this. Is there something I need to do within LaunchBox (or within windows) to activate autohotkey? Is there anyone who knows this scripting language better than me? (Doesn't take much, I assure you!)
  19. I was thinking the same thing, actually. I've seen some people downtalking the product, because they were (for whatever reason) expecting BigBox to be free too..
  20. I, personally always start and stop games from within either LaunchBox or BigBox - I never start an emulator and start switching roms and such, or start a game, and switch games within the emulator. So for my need it would work just fine with something that listens to when the window opens and closes, and records the time for that period of time. It could maybe use the launchbox-ID, to assign the recorded time? Of course, that would leave the feature useless if the game hasn't got an ID, but I don't know if that is a problem. I'll go vote for that ticket asap, and so will my gf - but I understand that there are bigger fish to fry. Excuse any bad English - it's not my first language
  21. If the person do not give a good reason to remove an image, and I see no obvious reason as to why it should be removed, I usually just reject the proposal..
  22. Boy, am I late to the party (Forum-digger). I haven't seen this implemented yet, so i guess it's still relevant? For starters, how about an icon on either toolbar, with a start / stop tracking time functionality? So you would do it manually, but that's better than nothing, maybe? I know i'd do it.. hehe
  23. That did the trick! You clever person, you!
  24. I've been going wild, adding lots of Atari ST titles to the database over the last week. Now, I would love to download the metadata, images and whatnot from the database, and get the "proper" LaunchBox ID. I have launchbox set up on two computers, my main computer and a media computer in the living room. When I click "Search for metadata" on my media computer, an infobox pops up, saying there's an update to the database, and asking me to update the metadata. Which is great! It finds all the stuff i've been adding, and all works fine. However, when I try the same on my main computer, it just goes straight to searching, and doesn't find anything. I'm trying to search for the same games on both systems, of course. I've also tried Tools -> Download Metadata and Images. Is there any way to force the database update? I'm using Launchbox 7.4 on both systems.
