But do you have the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update? Nothing else fails with this computer, only LB....there is some conflict with this update and LB...I used it with Windows 10 fine for weeks before this got installed, and now it bombs constantly. :-(

Probably going to install windows 8.1 and be done with it....prefer it anyways...there is nothing in Windows 10 I need... and don't even use the start menu....prefer a less intrusive OS anyways and it doesn't get any worse than having Windows 10, so, hopefully there are no 8.1 issues with Launchbox.

UPDATE: Completely reinstalled Launchbox, and it seemed okay for awhile...but not for long...it's doing the same thing...didn't install any visual basic or framework installs since installing LB....I'm giving up on using Launchbox with Windows 10.

I'm going to try a fresh install of launchbox as a final attempt to fix this; hate losing my favorites though.

Yes, I've done all of this. (I'm a PC technician by trade), but nothing is working sadly....the CU update was forced on me as an official update actually, so didn't fight it when it started scheduling the install automatically...I certainly didn't sign up for a beta version of Windows...YIKES...I know better than that... Hopefully, something gets done to fix it, so I can enjoy my collection and continue to refer others to LB. Thanks for the response.

A video on how to fix Launchbox from crashing every 30-200 seconds Windows 10 creator update... when uninstalling and reinstalling all Visual C++ packages does not fix it... I don't use launchbox anymore because of this, it super sucks...I may have to downgrade my OS on my computer to make this work if there is no better fix... which is something I'd really love to avoid!

Alexis524, I followed every step exactly...including the restarts... (both before and after), I have all 18 installed... STILL CRASHES! UGH....this really sucks. Loved my Launchbox collection, now I gotta basically use a different computer or reinstall windows from scratch, which makes no sense.... -------------- Anything I can submit BUG wise to Jason so maybe he can take a closer look? Is he back from his trip yet? :-)

Thanks, I did reinstall it all, but may have failed to remove some of the ones I didn't think applied...doing it comprehensively now as you recommended, I'll update ASAP :-)

Sucks, I have three friends I want to demo launchbox too, they are probably going to FLIP OUT and love it, but I've been holding off because I won't want it to crash during the demonstration!

Neil9000, The .Net Framework won;'t reinstall, says it's already installed. The Dirext-X Installer DID go through and reinstall... I'll let you know....thanks man.

Could not reinstall directX, even following this guide didn't work Apparently there is no offiical stand alone installer for Windows 10 directX How can I force a full re-install of DirectX? A: Normally the DirectX installer will refuse to install if it detects that you already have the latest version of DirectX installed. This makes it a pain in the ass to fix a broken DirectX installation. Luckily, there is a small workaround to trick the DirectX installer into a full re-installation. Run the Registry Editor: Start -> Run -> regedit Navigate to this key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\DirectX Change the value of version from '4.09.00.0904' to '4.08.00.0904'. Now run the DirectX installer.

Yup crashed again...this time while cycling through images on a Sega CD game (in the edit view for it)...trying directx-reinstlal now.

I've removed Visual Studio 2015 - STILL CRASHED. I removed Visual C++ runtime libraries for 2015 - STILL CRASHED I removed Visual C++ runtime libraries for all those under version 2015 down to 2010 (most were version 2013 I believe) - Has NOT CRASHED YET...) YAY! Next...will try reinstall of Direct-X if it crashes...

I understand and appreciate you trying to help....come to think of it, there was something else installed around this time of the creator update and I'm surprised I forgot about it....I guess cause I haven't used it much yet..followed some basic tutorial videos with it...I installed Visual Studio 2015 ...works fine, so I suppose that could have messed this up...but I'm not sure how...

Microsoft sort of forces the damn update, and you have to jump through hoops to prevent it...I should have...

I'll try it and update this post, but if that fails to fix it, the issue is certainly to do "with us". (LB) as it was working perfectly fine before and I've installed no other software beyond the win 10 OS update.

I updated to 7.10, and immediately imported a few PS2 games, seemingly on the last one while importing video 2 of 2 it crashed again!! Ugh!!...was hoping the update would fix this....so frustrating.

How can I back up my favorites, playlist and SERIES LIST? I want to reinstall - i don't want to lose and have to rebuild these all if I reinstall to try to fix my crashing issue. Ever since updating my Windows 10 with this new creator patch or whatever, it's been doing this....UGH

I haven't tried the new plug in to help make the process easier for submission to the Launchbox database , but assuming that it's working well, that should dramatically speed up the process I would think!
