  1. Ive got my machine set up with some PS1, Arcade and N64 classics, with usb controllers for each. Mames default controllers are the arcade cp, and I'm finding sometimes when I play fighters and such others want to use a PS2 controller to vs me. When playing Sega I don't want to use the joystick to play sonic, id rather the PS2 controller, but then id want to use the arcade cp for fighters and shmups. I'm currently setting up joy2key to sync all the joysticks together so I can pick up any one of them and play without changing any settings and such, but is there another option I'm overlooking?? I wish every emulator allowed multiple commands for each input like MAME does,.. then I could assign all 3(6) controllers independently
  2. Hope this is not too off topic but while I have your attention when importing metadata its asks to "Please wait while parsing emumovies" Sometimes I wait sometimes I don't, I never see a difference?
  3. Figured as much, which is why I tried doing the platforms separately to make the request smaller. Does launchbox login to the emumovies fttp?
  4. Just signed up to emu movies, was feeling lazy, chose every rom with ctrl+a (20,000 or more) and told launchbox to download metadata for them. Worked a treat for the first 2-3 systems, Arcade n64 and NES but after that every game drops an error when trying to download the movie. I don't know what number it gets to when it starts but I replicated it 3 times after restarts ect. started on the same number/game every time. If I select and update metadata on each platform individually they download fine.
  5. Ok cool. I did try the import feature the when it came out for my ps1 folder and it did nothing. Now I know why I was kind of sitting there fingers crossed saying no bin files no bin files. I think we as users should have more power over what file extensions are used and searched for.
  6. I feel stupid but is there a way to customize what file extensions launchbox automatically uses in rom importing for platforms? I know most of the custom importing is done by using the windows search feature and *.cue for example, but if I want to use the new feature Search for new roms ill need to make sure the Sony PlayStation platform only looks for .cue files, if it trys to add the bin files it would be a nightmare. Just finished watching this and noticed you guys even had trouble in the tutorial with NES save files trying to get imported lol So whats up?
  7. Changed the rom directory folder name from PSX to PS1 and now it works?
  8. I'm trying to import my playstation 1 .cue files and I'm getting a strange error. I search for files *.cue, select them all, next, go thru all the menus fine, last menu shows all .cue I selected, next, Loading bigbox shows up down the bottoms then nothing. No games imported, no message, nothing.
  9. I do that but the thing is it still searches thru every rom which takes ages. would be cool to be able to load downloads from an error logfile, would be soooo much faster.
  10. Is there a way to only scan for and retry download images that failed? My net craps out sometimes and I end up with EM api errors and have to go thru the drawn out process of scanning the entire romset each time.
  11. Could put all roms from separate regions into separate folders. Then rename the (J) and (E) to (U) then drag all those roms unto to (U) folder. Anything that doesn't copy over is a duplicate. Super dodgy but would kinda work
  12. Maybe scratch the updates till youve ironed it out a but more. Question. With duplicate titles from different regions are the file sizes exactly the same? Could be a good sorting method.
  13. Only thing is it will miss titles that are completely different names in different regions ie teenage mutant hero turtles
  14. I guess it doesn't really show duplicates tho. I see your need for coding now
  15. You can arrange platforms by region the edit the files from there. Heaps easy.
  16. Im yet to have a propper fiddle with the new options sorry. Before this I just delete all roms for a platform and reimport with all fields blank. Unless you damage your xml you should have no duplicates. Stuffed xml imports 0 roms successfully. Even in your case forcing duplicate imports won't actually double up the rom file, just works
  17. Be sure to spell bliss-box with the - when Google searching. Almost signed up to some porn
  18. Yeah just when you think you have something to add to the community BAM! These guys have got all bases covered.
  19. Pretty sure the new launchbox released yesterday can refresh rom folders dude, should remove any duplicates.
  20. For when Jason gets here, Awesome Retroarch tutorial. Missed the part where I had to go on buildbot and grab the redist and throw that mess in the retroarch root. Might stump some nubs. Wait that was brads video I think. Idk. Too many roms.. need sleep
  21. I figured I just broke something I swear it didn't do it to start with. I got "The Knack"
  22. I'll take a screen shot when I'm home but a heap of them looked for say "Vma-m binary" Rather than vba-m .exe. P64 did this too. I had to choose the all files option to show the exe. made me feel like I had the wrong emulator version or something cos some would show the exe in the folder when binaries was selected as file type.
  23. Misunderstood me , and I wasn't clear enough. Why when adding an emulator its looking for binaries not my exe. Yet some show the exe in list some don't. All emus updated ect.
  24. Only other question I have for now is what's the difference when importing an emulator why do some look for the binaries and others search for the exe. I'm new to Retroarch and assumed this was cores but then an exe imported fine when binaries was selected. I think vba-m needed all files selected to choose it.
