  1. When browsing my MAME (Arcade) roms in bigbox (and LB, but that is less of an issue), the games change quite quickly when you scroll through them, though there is a 5-6 second delay each time before the game video will play. I have my game videos stored on a network drive, which may be something to do with it. However, in Hyperspin I have the same setup and there is no such delay. Any help would be much appreciated!
  2. When I imported the latest MAME set, I selected the option to separate into arcade subfolders (CPS-1, CPS-2, etc). However, once import has completed it has only separated them into 2 folders - "arcade", which has 3588 games and "Sega ST-V" which has 39. I tried the option in tools to create missing MAME/arcade playlists, but after 7 or 8 seconds it says "no missing playlists were found to add"! No idea why this is not working, and any help appreciated! EDIT: fixed this; somehow the playlists didn't appear initially. After a restart they appeared, and I moved them to the arcade plaform.
  3. I'm having to start a new LB install to add in the arcade stuff, as lightspeed importer seemed to mess up my previous install. Can i add the exoDOS 3.1 pack without running the setup file (which installs it into a new instance of LB)? If so, how is it done? Thanks!
  4. Found it thanks. For some reason it had stopped appearing on the main torrents page.
  5. I don't see the exodos torrents on PD any more - have they gone?
  6. Yes, it would be nice to know what that was! Would save a lot of work. However if moving and re-importing it all is the only way, then I will look at that. What makes it more complicated is that I ran the exoDOS package, which installs LB and then adds all the exoDOS games and metadata. So I would have to figure out how to add that manually.
  7. No, I followed LornMonkus's instructions and imported via LB the second time (and when I did the fresh install).
  8. OK, that is certainly an option. But is there no way to "fix" my existing LB? It does seem that the problem began after I ran the Lightspeed Importer. Theoretically, if I could undo whatever it did then shouldn't my LB be back to normal and functioning as the new install does? Lordmonkus advised to remove all the arcade games from the arcade platforms, delete the arcade platforms from the data\platforms folder and the backups folder. I did that and tried to re-import but the problem remains. I wonder if there is something else I have to "undo"?
  9. Would that work? What about all the settings, wouldn't I have to change those too?
  10. I could add the other platforms to the new version, and I'm guessing that will be OK (as the arcade set is OK on the new version) - but I would rather avoid that if possible as I had spent some time settings up these platforms on the old version!
  11. Yes...well....if I remove it, then the arcade folders aren't there to be slow! The other systems run fine. If I have the arcade folders there, they run (browse) v v slow but the other systems run fine.
  12. Thanks DOS76 - I copied the new arcade.xml and over-wrote the old one in the original directory. I startup up the original LB, and ....... same problem! The arcade menus appear, but the problem is the same as above!
  13. Well, I followed the above advice and installed a fresh instance of LB in a new folder, then added my MAME ROM folder (without any metadata, like I had done previously with the original LB). And it works! I have also added some metadata to some games and it works fine. So what might be wrong with my original LB install? I don't want to have to install all my systems again, but I really want to add MAME.
  14. My mistake - thanks for pointing that out!
  15. The author is here - Pacman56
  16. Lordmonkus - my machine is: intel i7-6700HQ CPU @2.60GHz / 16GB RAM / AMD Radeon Pro 450 / SSD / 64bit Windows10. 6100 games total in LB, around 4500 of which are the troublesome MAME ones. Same issue in BB - other systems work absolutely fine, arcade/MAME section runs slow. I took a look at the "speeding up LB performence" link. I don't think that the problem is with my PC's performance - everything else is absolutely fine (including the other systems in LB). It doesn't seem like a performance issue that I am experiencing. It seems that something is going wrong with the LB behaviour at this point. As you had initially advised, I did/do think that the problem may have been with the Lightspeed importer. I followed your instructions to reverse the process though wonder if there is anything else I maybe should have done in that regard?
  17. ckp - yeah, I'm familiar with the issues around cacheing, though this just didn't seem to be a cacheing issue to me. LB itself was misbehaving - stalling/going full screen/not responding every few seconds. I had previously left it on overnight to see if it WAS a cacheing issue, though in the morning it was exactly the same with no extra art having appeared.
  18. Seeing as Rocketlauncher is the universal launcher & ROM manager, it would be better if the frontends (including Launchbox) could read the media data from Rocketlauncher, rather than the other way round.
  19. I am also keen to see if this issue is resolved. Surely we can access the same manuals both from within Rocketlauncher/Pause, and Launchbox/BB?
  20. Can you get it work where inside the platform folders, the manuals are within their own game subfolders? This is how Rocketlauncher seems to like it, and I don't want to take them all out of the subfolders and break Rocketlauncher.
  21. OK....do you have any suggestions? Is there somewhere I can get help with this?
  22. Thanks Lordmonkus - but if it was my system, wouldn't the other emulated systems be affected too?
  23. Evidently! Any advice on how to investigate/fix this? The other systems I have so far (MSDOS/exodos, NES and SNES) are fine.
  24. I just added them the way you described above (and without downloading any metadata or images) - and I am having the exact same problem! Launchbox keeps freezing every few seconds, making it impossible to navigate!
  25. Thanks so much Lordmonkus. LB running OK again with those removed. I will add them via the above method tonight.
