  1. It would be pretty handy for there to be a feature in LB which lists ALL of the possible systems and perhaps the number of available games for those systems. I don't think that the LB Games Database does this?
  2. eXo - might it be an idea to release an all-in-one 3.11 pack containing the 5 packs, which might then be easier to add in to Launchbox?
  3. Great news! Can we point 3.11 at the 3.1 torrent to just make the changes, or do we need to start afresh? And how long until 3.111? Do you recommend that we remove all exodos stuff from LB and start afresh with these 3 3.11 torrents?
  4. Quick question regarding eXoDOS import. I'm currently importing the eXoDOS strategy collection manually (yeah I know...my preferred method). I have copied across all the images and manuals to the correct locations. My question is regarding the metadata folders. I see that the eXoDOS strategy zip file has a "metadata" folder. The contents of this folder look similar to the corresponding folder in my own Launchbox/Metadata directory. However, the eXoDOS metadata folder has 3 .xml files - files.xml, mame.xml and metadata.xml. I'm not sure why the eXoDOS zip has a mame.xml, and I'm wondering why there is no MS-DOS.xml like there is in my Launchbox folder! How do I copy across the relevant XML data so that I can run the games from my Launchbox? Thanks!
  5. Sorry to hear that Viking (about not making any more system videos, not the children)! Thanks for all the great work you had done. I would gladly continue it, had I the necessary knowledge and skills. Hopefully someone else can do so!
  6. Would be great to have some kind of "official" Launchbox media manager.
  7. I think I will go down the conservative route and copy the assets across manually with the xmls combined rather than risk any automated process!
  8. I'm downloading a free MAME ROM torrent, and it's downloading OK though apart from for the first 10 minutes, no one seems to be seeding from me. Currently at 40GB downloaded but only 19MB uploaded!
  9. GR8 is it going to turn "free"? My ratio won't allow me to start the download right now.
  10. Looking forward to the next 3.1 packs
  11. Me too! Will be following your posts with interest. Just subscribed to your YouTube.
  12. Out of interest....is this the “largest” LB collection we know about? Pipes do you know of any bigger ones?
  13. Sty, don’t forget that “platforms” includes playlists/collections as well as physical systems. I have asked for a list of the platforms but this has not yet been made available. And there are more than 130 systems. A lot more!
  14. Slight issue - I have selected the "scroll details" under the platform details menu in BB. However, they won't scroll. The platform description however does scroll. Is this a bug? Thanks.
  15. Moved all my media to the proper LB folders. This app is still not identifying the presence of the media properly.
  16. Ah I C! Yes, regarding your ScummVM collection, it might be worth releasing a pack of all those ScummVM games that aren't already in you DOS packs (or your Windows pack for that matter, once the update is released).
  17. Thanks eXo. And when you say not a DOS game - do you mean it could be a Windows game, or are you referring to non-PC platforms?
  18. Hey exo, quick question regarding ScummVM. What is your position as regards ScummVM games? Are they included in your eXoDOS packs, are you planning a separate release for these games or are these games not part of your remit? Cheers!
  19. Can’t you get RA to run the exe or bat via its Dosbox core?
  20. Oh yes, I had thought about DOSbox within Retroarch. I will definitely have a look into that as an option. I had been looking for overlays of old CRT monitors though had only found old TVs. Will keep looking
  21. Thanks for your input beaver. I will definitely have a look at Daum then. As well as shaders, can you use screen overlays?
  22. https://www.dosbox.com/wiki/SVN_Builds Description: The last version broke this build in various places and uses out of date and not fully working changes of the DOSBox-X branch. It is no longer recommended to use it.
  23. Thanks eXo, your detailed response is much appreciated. For what it's worth, I do not personally take your work for granted and cannot imagine how much effort must have gone into curating this huge collection. It's the best body of work on DOS games collections out there in my opinion. My question was in part prompted by the wish to leverage the full weight of this collection, which includes the "extras" as we have discussed. Part of the issue that I personally had with the setting up process came from having the games stored on a network drive, and not realising that the extras were also on the network drive, rather than imported into LB along with all the other media. Once I was aware of this, I was able to fix the issue by making a symbolic link as you had stated. Having the extras imported locally along with the other media would be ideal - though whether it is worth 15-20 hours of work is of course debatable. I think that for the individual this would be questionable, though for you as the pack curator and producer it might be a good thing to do so that the hundreds of users benefitting from your collection get the extras too. However, I would prioritise getting the other eXoDOS and win3Xo 3.1 packs out first! Keep up the good work man.
