That vector magic looks powerful. I've found https://www.autotracer.org/ as a free alternative so will have a play with that. First go on a logo below:

Thanks @seaview59. I still tend to do it in Photostudio - but the trace tool is point-to-point-to-point (no post editing of points) - so I'll definitely take a look at https://bezier.method.ac/ as the ability to refine as you go in Photoshop is certainly an incentive. What does draw me to Photoshop currently though is the Spot Healing Brush Tool - that's just amazing.

Thanks @JereBear - like @seaview59 - really must thank you for outlining your process. The way you both seem to just produce these day in day out I wondered if there was some crazy professional software out there that made light work of this - but I can see that it does take a great deal of effort! At least I am (sort of) following the same process - just need more practice!

Thanks for replying @seaview59 - appreciate it. I don't have Topaz, but have Photoshop (extreme novice though), I use https://www.upscale.media/ for upscaling and the same https://www.myfonts.com/pages/whatthefont you do. I'll certainly look at https://vectormagic.com/ though! Maybe 3DS Max is beyond me ATM (haven't ever delved into 3D). I tend to use PowerPoint - for my sins - for actual "template" recreations believe it or not

It would be great to know what tools you use to make these logo's... Are you using Photoshop and Topaz? Is there a quick way of isolating the logo or do you have to painstakingly outline it?

5x Amsoft covers: Roland goes Digging (just AI upscaled) Roland in Space (using a template + AI) Roland in the Caves (using a template + AI) Roland in Time (using a template + AI) Roland on the Ropes (using a template + AI) And 4x logo's (Roland on the Ropes' logo was OK in the db)

What a great T-Shirt! I actually had this edition of Your Sinclair and Moley Christmas and used to load it up just for the music (on the 128K of course)

Pink Panther on Amiga, Amstrad, Atari ST, C64 and Spectrum - reconstructed fronts and logo (had the Amstrad Disc version in my Launchbox for ages and just got bothered by the box front scan not being great ) All uploaded to the db

Thanks @seaview59 - I do appreciate any advice given! I'm still trying to get my head around Photoshop....I've been using an old ArcSoft PhotoStudio for 20 years (+ more recently various sites for AI upscale and adding transparency). For some reason I just can't seem to click with the layers, masks etc on PhotoShop...(and before anyone says anything - yes - I should practice / watch PhotoShop vids ). Also wish I could justify the cost of Topaz! ...but this is just a nice creative outlet for me to decompress from the day job

I've felt inspired and found a (reasonably) high res pic of the Hu Card where the logo had the tail of the beast - so I've added a tail now and uploaded it to the Db as an Alt version of the Japanese clear logo (again - the Db version is 2x res of the one below...the forum seems to reject uploading anything too big)
-
Takahashi Meijinno Shin Boukenjima (Japan) Not sure if the top part of the logo is part of the name or not though - but uploaded to db
-
I've created the logo below (only to find someone else beat me to it in the db submission )....but I've reduced mine to just the 3 colours - so if its of any use - please feel free to use it
