  1. Sorry, I don't think I have any multi disk games in my collection, so someone else might need to assist with that question.
  2. We might need a little more info before anyone will likely be able to possibly assist you. Can you post a screenshot of your emulator settings for Dolphin Triforce in Launchbox? The likely tabs we would likely need to see are the Details tab, and the Associated Platforms tabs in the Launchbox emulator screen. That being said, my guess through, is that there is a default command line parameter that's missing, or misconfigured. I know for normal dolphin (not triforce), the normal command line parameter you want to pass to Dolphin via LB is -b -e. If you're using an older version of Dolphin/Triforce it might be /b /e (I know Dolphin changed their command line settings from / to - a while back... not sure if the Triforce version of Dolphin switched to the using - as well. Hope this helps, CDBlue
  3. Sounds like you might not have retroarch setup/linked properly in Launchbox. Here's a good tutorial on how to setup Launchbox, and how to setup/link the retroarch emulator to it.
  4. Sorry, not sure about Spectabis, never even heard of it to be honest. Just curious though, why use a frontend for PCSX2, when you're using launchbox as a frontend? I know that some games you might need to tweak settings in PCSX2 in order for them to work correctly, but I've found that most games play just fine with the PCSX2 settings that I normally use (3x upscalling, OpenGL, Hardware Hacks/Aligh Sprites, FSSAA, etc.)... as long as you have a decent PC that is. Do you have the emulator in LB for PS2 games setup as spectabis, and not PCSX2? If so, then you likely need to find out what the options are to exit spectabis, or you might need to map an exit hotkey in it. If you can do that, you should be able to tell LB what keypress to pass on to Spectabis when you use your exist command in LB, and it should pass it on to Spectabis and exit.
  5. FYI, if you also have an emumovies account, you can get platform theme videos there, that might not be listed in the automated download options in launchbox... https://emumovies.com/files/category/2031-video-themes/ is one place where you can get more.
  6. Correct, that's how I do it. I have a folder called bigbox cinematics, unified, and unified refried. I downloaded those platform videos a while back, and simply copy the ones I want to use into the main videos/platforms folder when I want to use them. The reason each item is selected is because it detects which platforms you have in your collection that also don't have any platform videos downloaded yet. It will default to the first one of the list I believe, but at the bottom you can prioritize as you mentioned. Keep in mind though, there are alot of platform theme videos out there, but not for every platform for a specific type. For example, if you prioritize bigbox cinematics, it will select those for each platform that they exist... but you might have several that don't have those types, and it will still just select the first one of the list. Best to review each selection before you click ok, to make sure it's downloading what you want
  7. Yes, what @neil9000 says is correct. Also, the name of the platform video has to match the platform name. So, if you download Arcade.mp4, in your case, you will want to rename it to Mame.mp4 so it will play when you select your Mame platform Also, FYI, from the LB download section for platform videos, you can also download videos for your arcade auto-generated playlists. So, even if you choose to use the unified refried videos from the forum/download page, you should still look at the LB downloads and download the platform videos for those that are not covered in the themes.
  8. You can only have 1 set of videos for platforms. So, you can either download some via the options in LaunchBox, or if they are not available there, you can download them via the forums. For example, Unified Refried's platform theme videos are not available via the LaunchBox platform media download section. So, if you choose to go with Unified Refried, and want to use his platform videos, you need to download them manually and put them in the ../videos/platforms folder in LaunchBox on your PC manually. As an example, if you downloaded the above videos, and put them in your ../videos/platforms forlder in LB, then proceeded to download videos via the tool/options in Launchbox, it would overwrite those videos and you would now just have the ones you selected in LB. There are ways around this though. In themes, if it doesn't have it, you can also create a ../videos/platforms folder structure in the theme itself, and put videos you just want for that theme in that folder. When BB runs, it will look to play videos from there before it looks in the normal location in the launchbox folders to play those instead. Hope that makes sense
  9. You need to download platform theme/videos via Launchbox. That will be the video that displays for each platform selected while in BB. For themes in BB, there are many as you can see, but my goto is usually Unified Refried This theme is extra good because he also supplies theme/platform videos that you can manually download (that fit his theme perfectly) as well as platform logos (which you also would need to manually download and put in the correct folders in your LB directory). Have a look at it and see if it's what you're looking for. Either way, as I said, there are tons of themes and I'm sure you will be able to find one to your tastes.
  10. Sorry, never had to do that. I would assume there is video capture software you can use, like OBS (what people use to stream to twitchtv and things like that). I'm pretty sure that would allow you to record your screen/display, but again not sure as I've never done that. If I have a game with no video I'm ok with it showing the screenshots, etc. instead. But, good luck.
  11. @CriticalCid Would you mind sharing your edited version?
  12. I would assume if the zip file contains only one file (for example only the *.cdi or *.gdi) then it's fine to leave it in the .zip, but make sure when you setup your emulator of choice for Dreamcast that you select the option to extract rom archive before running. The problem comes in when .zip files have multiple files in them. LB can extract the files, but then it doesn't really know which file to run, so it may not work if your .zip have 2 or more files in them. Personally, I prefer not to have any rom's in their .zip files, and unzip them before importing into LB (except for Mame games, which have the be in .zip files of course).... but I have alot of space and not tons of games so it's not an issue for me. As for emulator, there are a few to choose from, if you have Retroarch already installed and setup, then the easiest would be to use the Flycast core. There are 2 good stand-alone emulators I've used, Demul is one, but it doesn't get updated very often. The other, which does get updates very frequently, is Redream. But with Redream if you want to unlock upscaling you need to buy a premium version, which I believe is a small one-time fee of $5 (I think). Both Demul and Flycast will allow upscaling and all other features that they support, but I believe for compatibility, Redream might be the better one now since it's updated frequently. So, it's up to you really. Personally, I just use Flycast as my primary emulator right now as it's easy to setup and works fine for the games that I want to play.
  13. Correct. Have fun with the themes. BigBox is really where this frontend shines. Launchbox is where you set everything up, and BigBox is where you can play with it hehe
  14. At this point in time, playlists need to have a unique name I believe (including the auto-generated arcade playsists). Meaning you can only have one playlist names "Arcade SNK Neo Geo" (for example). But, you can create your own playlist like I mentioned above, call it "FBA SNK Neo Geo" (or something like that) and then put whatever games you want in it, and have it associated with your Final Burn Alpha Category, so it'll be listed under FBA in the tree on the left pane. A playlist is not a platform or anything, it's just a database of games from other platforms on your system, so there are no physical games in it, it just points to games you have installed in other platforms, etc. So, for example, you could create a playlist called 19xx (for example) and add every 19xx game that you have in every platform in it (1941, 1942, 19xx...etc) from Mame, Final Burn Alpha, Atari, Nintendo Entertainment System, etc. Again, it's all up to you how you want to manually create a playlist and you can add/remove etc. as you wish. Removing a game form a playlist does not delete it from whatever platform it's actually in
  15. You can edit those playlists and change the platform it's searching through to Mame instead of Final Burn Alpha, if that's what you prefer, and then you can also associate them with the Mame platform while you edit the playlist as well. I would be surprised if those listed under Final Burn Alpha aren't actually looking at the Arcade platofrm though, which doesn't exist on your system now, so those might be broken right now anyway. As with many things in Launchbox though, you can edit and customize to your liking
  16. You can always create a playlist yourself. Simply right-click a game in LB, that you want to add to whatever playlist you want to create, and select Add to Playlist/New playlist. Once you have a playlist created, when you right click on a game and go to add to playlist, the playlist you created will be there, and you can just select it and it will add to that playlist. So, for example, you can create a playlist called Neo Geo, Associated it to the Mame platform, listed under the Arcade category, etc. just like the auto-generated ones that get created when you tell LB to create it during the Mame importer. All this being said, you "should" have a playlist called Arcade SNK Neo Geo MVS, which should include the Neo Geo games.. at least that is one of the auto-generated playlists that LB is supposed to created. Again, you might need to edit that playlist to tell it to search your platform called Mame, as by default it will only search for a platform called Arcade.
  17. I believe there are two ways to do this in BigBox. One is if you want it to always show, and your using a platform view in bigbox. If that's the case, you will need to edit each playlist in launchbox, and select the "Include this playlist with platforms" option on the details tab. However, another way would be change the startup view in BigBox from platforms. which is the default view, to platform categories. Then, when you select Arcade it will show you only the Arcade platforms and any playlists you have selected to show under the Arcade category.
  18. Excellent theme. Great job
  19. I don't bother updating my mame roms, but I believe there have been posts in the forums before on how to do it. But I believe you might need to delete and re-import each time you want to do that. Again, not sure though as I have no experience with that, so I can't answer that question 100%. As for the language question, unfortunately I don't know the answer to that one either. I would assume your OS language is set to Italian? If so, maybe it's pulling some items from your language preferences in Windows maybe?
  20. Yep, missed that. As Neil mentioned you need to add a listing for Mame in your associated platform, for watever emulator you want to run those Mame games in. Otherwise, they won't launch properly from LB/BB.
  21. It's also possible if you renamed your platform from Arcade to Mame after you imported items, it might have messed up previously downloaded items that were linked to the games while it was under the old Arcade name.
  22. Not sure why it would only have imported 2912 games, but if you left the skip items selected (so it skipped those items) that might be accurate. But, I'm not sure as I don't have a complete set, I picked and chose to only install arcade games that I knew I wanted to play... about 800 ish games. As for asking LB to attempt to redownload media files, you can. Select your platform on the list, then click on a game. Then select all games in that platform by pressing ctrl-a. Once all games are selected, go to tools/download meta data an media. Select all the items you want it to look for again (front covers, 3d covers, etc.) then on one of the last pages of the wizard select the middle option for "Yes, but do not replace any existing fields or media". It will then re-scan all those games you have selected/installed for that platform, and look up the media at LB GamesDB and Emumovies (if you are logged in and have an account there) and if there are missing items that it can now download, it will do that.
  23. That's the normal bahaviour actually. When you use the Mame importer it does indeed import the games into a platform called Arcade, which would be under the category Arcade. It's fine if you rename the platform like you did, but now you'll have to edit each playlist (2-player games, 4-player games, etc.) and edit the platform that the playlist is searching through to find matching games and change it from Arcade to Mame. I think maybe the confusion is that you are using Platform Category View in Launchbox. The first Arcade you see is the Platform Category, the second Arcade is the actual Platform. Personally, the less-hassle way is just to rename the platform back to Arcade heh. But, like I mentioned above, you can either edit all auto-created playlists and tell it to look into the Mame platform, or rename the platform back to Arcade and all the auto-generated stuff will just work again
  24. From the beta 2 release notes above in this thread: Improvement: The default image priority settings have been streamlined; you may want to review your image priority settings under Tools > Options > Legacy > Images in LaunchBox to make sure that you don't have any unecessary/unwanted image types selected
  25. I can confirm that so far I can no longer reproduce the issue where the BigBox process would remain running after playing around with themes, that used to cause the issue
