  1. Excellent, glad the log file helped a little anyway Sorry to have hijacked your thread faeran. Keep up the great work, loving these new themes.
  2. @Jason Carr PM sent with attached log
  3. FYI, just found something interesting. I opened LB, enabled debugging, then entered BB with this theme already selected, moved around the theme, selected different platforms, etc, then closed it. It closed immediately as it should. So, I then opened BB again, when into options/views, did not make any changes, then exited that and closed BB, and it's now hung up again. Maybe the issue is related to something in the options/views? Waiting for BB to close out properly before attaching the logs... but thought I'd mention my findings while trying to reproduce the issue.
  4. No problem. I'll turn on debugging and reproduce the issue. Do I need to wait for BB to finally close before sending you the log.... it might take a while looking as how it's going so far?
  5. Hi Jason, as mentioned above I can report that something is still happening as of 10.14 (which I'm running)... but only with certain themes like this one, which is why I thought it might be theme (or more likely theme creator related perhaps). I closed BigBox (running this theme) and about 5 minutes later it's still running in the background. It's not frozen, as it does use up CPU/Mem every once in a while, but mostly it remains unchanged from this screenshot. If I switch to another theme, such as CoverBox (as an example), when I close BB, it closes and ends the process in the background within a minute. Let me know if you need me to turn on any logging or provide you with anything. -CDBlue
  6. Artbook and Retro Console are two that I can think of that I've tried recently that do not have this issue. I believe this one and Banner Box did that strange behavior for me though. Right now I'm using mostly CoverBox, and it also has no issue.
  7. Hey @faeran, fist of all thx for all these themes you've been putting out lately. Really great stuff, this one in particular is high on my list of must have's. I've noticed something though. It seems like most of your recent themes seem to cause BigBox to not close properly when I exit it. It stays running in the process list for quite a while, sometime I need to actually kill the process via task manager in order to relaunch BB. I'm not sure if it's related to the Theme Creator, or something specific on how to create your themes. I don't think I've noticed it with any other themes created by authors who also used the Community Theme Creator, but I am not 100% sure on that. Anyway, I thought I'd mention it in case it's an issue that anyone else is having, and it might be worth looking into.
  8. I'm not familiar with the Mame hacks, so not sure if you can use full mame importer with those or not. You probably can. The only reason not to use the full mame importer is that it will assume you have every game that Mame lists as working, and will list them in your LB with the assumed path to the file.... even if it doesn't exist. What that means is if you use the full mame importer and it thinks you have a game rom, but do not, it will still be listed in LB/BB, but when you click to play it nothing will happen because the rom doesn't really exist. So, if the Mame hacks are exactly the same games/roms as the actual mame fullset, then I assume using the mame full romset importer will work fine. If it's just a subset of the mame fullromset, but still complete as far as the hack pack goes, I would not use the full romset importer and just use the regular rom importer and tell it you are importing Mame games... if that makes sense again haha As for Emumovies, I believe as long as you tell LB whatever platform you call it, to scrape as Aracade, I would have thought that Emumovies would find them... if the games themselves are named the same as their Mame counterparts that is. If they are not, then yeah Emumovies and likely even the LB games database might not find them.
  9. Sorry, once again Steam is not a platform I emulate via LB. I'd rather launch my steam games via the steam app directly. Also, just a heads up on Mame. Only use the Import Mame Fullset option in LB if you do indeed have a complete full rom set. If you only have some of the roms, it will not work properly. If you don't have a complete romset you should just use the import roms option and select arcade/mame type instead.
  10. Personally, I love the feature and, for me at least, it's doing exactly what it was intended to do. It's making me play more of my Mame games. I usually play my console games, and rarely played mame. I now see myself going back and playing the classics and trying to beat people's scores (which is near impossible because I suck at arcade games lol).
  11. if you choose to select all roms, it will import all the regions and just combine the games together in LaunchBox/Big Box. For example, the game 1942 might have a North America, Japan and Europe versions (or even different releases in each market... example ver1 in US, ver2 in US, etc.), . So, if you select to import all roms, clones, etc. It will import all these and combine them. I believe, depending on what region you have selected/listed first in your region preferences in LB, it should make that one the default rom to run when you double-click/launch the game. So, if you want to play the Japan, Europe, different versions/clones of that game, you simply right-click the game in LB and pick the version you want to try and run in the list. Example below for my 1942 game where I did import a full Final Burn Neo romset and told it to just import all roms/clones. All those Play... options listed are different versions of the game that were imported and can be played if desired.
  12. Perfect, thx for the clarification
  13. @Jason CarrJust a quick question about the anti-cheat process and dip switches... which I'm very happy to see implemented btw. Cheaters suck, and it's sad that people do that in order to claim being the "best". So, in the interest of preventing work-arounds, what would be the result of the following scenario: Tampering with dip switches to get, and record a false hiscore in your .hi file. I know when you close the game out that hiscrore would now not be submitted due to the anticheat being detected. But, let's say you then reset your dip switches back to normal, play again, and get another hiscore (lower than the one recorded while cheating). When you close the game out the second time and the hiscore file is reviewed and submitted as you are now not cheating, would it submit just the hiscore obtained for that session, or would it submit the hiscore you had previously recorded while cheating? I'm hoping it only submits hiscores for the session that was just closed, and that can be confirmed as not being compromised, and not ones recorded previously .. I guess is where I'm going with the question
  14. Hmm not sure. I've never used non-arcade software roms with Mame or Final Burn Alpha. I would rather use their proper emulators and import them via their own romsets rather than the arcade software roms your looking for. My guess though is that it's just a coincidence that those two roms are importing, as those might be named the same as the arcade counterparts (ie. the rom it thinks is 1943kai.zip that it thinks it's importing is the arcade rom, not the pce verison. If it works then great, but my guess is that since you're telling it that these are arcade/mame games, but those aren't really arcade games, but are named the same as their arcade counter-parts. Not sure if I explained what I think is going on well or not, lol. Hopefully you get where I think the issue is happening. For non-arcade/software roms like PCE, MSX, Coleco, if you want to use those with Final Burn (or Mame) you might need to ask in a specific post how to import those. I would assume you need to setup a separate emulator, pointing for FInal Burn still, but passing on a command line to tell it that you want it to play celecovision games for example, and then you actually import the games as colecovision, not mame... but again not sure.
  15. Yes, when you add a platform it doesn't know what category it might belong to, even if you told it to scrape as arcade. To associate it under the Arcade platform, right click on the Final Burn Alpha name in the list on the left panel and select edit. Then on the windows that pops up, select the parents tab. On that page, deselect root as the parent, and select the Arcade category instead. It should then be listed under Arcade.
  16. You can name the platform/emulator anything you want. All you need to do is when you import the roms you select scrape as, and pick Arcade so it scans arcade/mame type games. I only suggested naming the platform Final Burn Alpha because alot of themes for BigBox look/work with that name still. So, if you name the platform/emulator Final Burn Neo or Final Burn Delta (for example) then of of the themes would simply not recognize what that is and just display the default view for that theme instead. If that's not an issue, or you don't use BigBox, then just name it whatever you want, as it will work with LaunchBox with any name you want to give the platform (as long as you have an emulator set to work with whatever names platform you used)... if that makes sense lol
  17. Sorry, Amiga CD32 is also a platform/emulator I have don't any experience with, so I don't think I'll be able to help you on that one. Maybe a separate post asking for assistance on that one might provide some help.
  18. I think final burn legends might be for xbox, not PC, but I'm not 100% sure on that. Final Burn Delta/Pro is based off FInal Burn Neo I believe, so should be up-to-date and PC compatible with that one
  19. For Final Burn, you import them just like you would any regular platform (don't use the Mame importer as that's just for Mame). Select the folder with the zip files and use the import roms option. Simply import as Final Burn Alpha (you might need to add that as a platform/emulator before it shows on the list of selectable platforms during the import, or just name it Final Burn Alpha). Tell it to scrape as Arcade during the import process, and in one of the final stages of the import wizard make sure to select the option to "Force using Mame Meta Data". Since final burn alpha and mame both use zip files, and are both arcade dumps (but their roms are not interchangable - you do need to download a Final Burn Alpha, or Final Burn Neo romset for that platform, and a Mame romset for Mame). Edit: I recommend using Final Burn Neo vs. Final Burn Alpha. FBNeo is newer and being actively updated now days (https://neo-source.com/) FBAlpha is pretty much dead since the whole licensing fiasco that caused almost all the devs to leave that emulator and start the Final Burn Neo project (both based on the same Final Burn code). You can still name the platform Final Burn Alpha, as most themes will look for that name for the platform... but the emulator, etc. you should use is FBNeo. As for roms, if you use the final burn neo emulator, you should download roms that are made for FBNeo (although I'm sure FBAlpha roms will work, they are likely out of date).
  20. Sorry, TaitoTypeX is not anything I know anything about. I won't be able to assist with that emulator unfortunately.
  21. Try checking off the option for no spaces before ROM ... I believe that's needed for dreamcast emulators like NullDC and Demul. I also have attempt to hide console windows checked off... but I don't believe demul has a console window. But, it wouldn't hurt to check that off as well I guess.
  22. I just read that apparently the video mode you're using can make a difference with mouse showing in full screen mode as well. You can try using d3d video mode and see if the mouse doesn't show up anymore while in fullscreen. Apparently d3d uses exclusive fullscreen, whereas opengl and bgfx used borderless windows (which could allow the mouse to show through)
  23. Not sure if this would work or not, but in the device mappings in mame, you could try setting the mouse option to none. This would mean a mouse would never work in mame though. But, as long as you have controller and keyboard mappings in place, the mouse should not be needed perhaps.
  24. Also, if you do have the bioses in the bios folder for demul, which bios do you have demul set to use? For example, I have mine set to use the 1.01d (world) version of the bios as that seems to be the more compatible version with most roms/images.
  25. I mean the error is suggesting you're missing bios file that the game is looking for. Do you have all the bios/zip files downloaded and in your bios folder for demul? Not sure why it would work via demul directly and not through LB. Does it do that for all games, or just one?
