Ah yes, I learn new english words every day, thanks bro Those led spots are far too bright for a small room like this lol these spots are shining thus far into other rooms when the door is open that it reflects on the walls so downstairs anything white still lights up without seeing the purple light anymore, I hope I explained this well lol

I have this one pointed to front direction and a smaller one of 6 lights pointed to the back: https://www.amazon.co.uk/beamz-Black-Light-Ultraviolet-Lighting-Mobile/dp/B075R31Q6Y/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1547191672&sr=8-8&keywords=beamz+uv+led It works really well although when installing these you do have to place them well so they don't reflect in the monitors, the color seems a lighter shade of purple than traditional TL tubes and light up the room far more than the traditional ones, I like these UV Leds more than traditional as the UV effect is also brighter but wish it was (dont know the exact english term) radial/global light instead of spots as it's hard to position well in smaller rooms without screen reflection or them shining in your eyes, so I had to place 2 of them in the middle of the ceiling and point to both directions. The posters are from a poster book, a collection of classic/famous UV posters used during the counter culture.

Mr. RetroLust's new man/game cave
Mr. RetroLust replied to Mr. RetroLust's topic in Collections and Builds
Update of the (finally finished) room where I play and work on all the projects, no more desk and office chair, been sitting on those for almost 20 years, time for something new. Tried to catch every detail, 20 photos should be enough It's more than a game room it's a bit of a time capsule of past century things I love. I do have to remove some dust though lol Well that's it all in all. -
At the moment the launchbox database is being reconstructed after a hdd fail so it can take a little while to recover every image again, I think tomorrow should be safe to download them just to be sure, normally you can download media by selecting games and then go to tools/download metadata and images, here you can choose which categories you'd like to scrape, don't forget to let Arcade Marquees checked.

Great! I hope you can send me a link to see your work, looking forward to see it ?

Probably a within two weeks (could be sooner or later) for the LMNOP pack, around 3 to 4 weeks for QRST and a week for UVWXYZ. For the update packs to the missing boxes I can't make an estimate yet but perhaps a month in total, all could go much faster maybe but depends on real life/time/health things.

Thanks for the update and the restoration (thank god for backups) you guys rule! \m/

Thats the weird thing as I knew about plugging and unplugging might reorder them so I didn't and I marked the controllers with UV ink marker (ink visible in black light). I did however plug and unplug an external soundcard I use for headphones (for a lot of bass lol) around the time it happened so it might be that this was the cause, making me scared to plug anything in the USB ports now. However it could also be the USB energy saving option people have mentioned before, disconnecting one or more controllers and thus reordering them. I switched off the USB energy saving option now so I hope by also sticking to the order that Windows has been serving these past few days will do the trick.

Thanks for the tips bro! I also have the default.ini set to readonly so nothing is changed within Mame, its windows suddenly deciding the order should be changed making the settings in Mame useless, i've got two Logitechs F310 and a Hori Fighter Commander, in Mame I mapped both an F310 (controller 1) and the Hori (controller 3) to player 1 and the other F310 (controller 2) to player 2, this worked for a few days but all of a sudden every pad is switched to another number and it keeps doing this whenever I restart windows. I have now changed all the controls to the order which Windows so aggresively reorders to in the hope Windows leaves me alone (the bastard!) if this doesnt work i'll try out the software you mentioned

Thanks, glad you like I uploaded most of pack 2 dual layout marquees to the launchbox database so you can scrape the marquees like this, there's still a lot of work to be done before releasing pack 2.

Loving the new theme! It's got extra dimensions as if a window opened in the background to another galaxy \m/

Thanks man, I've seen this come by and some other software called Tur-Game Controller Order on the hyperspin forum, although I hoped there was an easy fix or knowledge for windows itself, I try not to have to many software running in the background, do you use this software yourself?

anyone able to set control panel to adjust mame volume
Mr. RetroLust replied to DannyShane's topic in Noobs
Not sure if this will help you but maybe worth a try, this seems to work for some people when having mapping problems, setting the following in mame.ini, downside of putting Keyboard in dinput is Mame can use only one keyboard at a time, in case you use multiple keyboards. # # OSD INPUT OPTIONS # keyboardprovider dinput mouseprovider auto lightgunprovider auto joystickprovider auto -
And just when you thought everything is working like a dream... Windows and it's friggin' controller order shuffle is back, I swear it was working well for months and now since I have 3 controllers they keep getting shuffled. I know this problem has been happening for a lot of people in the past, was there a definitive solution to this? I see a lot of results on google but am getting nowhere, hope you guys can share some knowledge. It really surprises me this happens at all since windows seems to be a holy grail for many gamers and microsoft upping the Xbox name on its OS these last years, so something simple like this shouldn't be happening I think, been a console guy myself for a long long time till Launchbox came into my life

anyone able to set control panel to adjust mame volume
Mr. RetroLust replied to DannyShane's topic in Noobs
I use Controller Companion to map keys to a controller, very recommended piece of software! It can also map a key combo to adjust system volume which works great. -
Thanks so much man, very good to hear Yep I am having the same struggles like you, basically I'm a very OCD completionist beyond help, I feel a very strong urge to create any images as good as I can for every game but then again I can't, as much as I wish to, so I try to find a middle ground, for now my plan is to get at least a 3D box for as much games as possible in the mame arcade set, this requires a lot of googling to search for those obscure images and fixing them up, searching and cutting out the logos if needed as well. I also want to finish the arcade cabinets project and after thats done finish up the Neo Geo marquee set. On the side I also want to go through all mame marquees and search and create the highest quality possible up to 3840 pixels wide. After this is all done I like to create photo realistic bezels in 4k for most arcade games lol its a bit crazy and I'm not sure if I'll be able to get this far as I have to add many more other consoles and computers to my collection as well. Damn I really hope my hdd wont crash, I never worked with a such latge quantity of data before so I guess the risk of this happening is far more realistic than before, will have to create backups. I'm also deleting games I don't like from the Mame set including slots/mechanical/consoles etc., I'm at letter P atm, going through them one by one, it's quite relaxing to do so, around 3000 to go as I haven't merged them (forgot the name of the method when sub merge them with other titles)

my 4 player cabinet - i feel like a kid again. lol
Mr. RetroLust replied to DannyShane's topic in Collections and Builds
Looking great! T-molding is being used a lot for the edges of the sides of a cabinet. On top of control panels they use plexi to protect the artwork, but I'm no expert on this matter though. -
Thanks! Is the website also updated? I see coins and mushrooms, which is great
