  1. I was able to get this working, It was something in my "BigBoxSettings.xml" file. I did a fresh install to another location, grabbed a copy of the new file and dropped in in my main setup and whala. Other than going through and changing all my personal preferences of course.

It shows as needing an update because I haven't uploaded this version to the theme manager yet, so it doesn't know that it's newer than the older version up there. Updating through the theme manager will download the older version.

As to why your videos don't work with this theme, I'm not sure. You can check theme specific options to see if there's anything in there messing with your setup.

I don't know my friend? I don't seem to be finding anything. It will "View video fullscreen" from the game details. I love the changes made BTW

Okie dokie, let me see what I can find. Thanks for getting back so quick

  4. @faeran @Retro808 Hey fella's: After getting my mess cleaned up, back to the theme issue. I downloaded v3.0 from the forums and get no working videos in the theme (see screenshot)

However, when I go into Options>Manage Themes is shows as needing update, I can update it and it works perfect.

Its because in your. \Data folder you have a file called Sony Playstation - Copy.xaml. Only thing in the \Data folders should be the files LB creates. If you create any backup files for platforms or playlists and store them there LB will try to read them. Keep those files in a folder outside of the \Data folders.

I normally do as you suggest, but was trying different things in this case. I didn't expect LB to attempt to use a file if it wasn't the "exact name". Thx Retro

  6. I had an issue with a couple platforms (Sony PlayStation, Sony PlayStation 2, Sony PlayStation 3). I deleted them from LB and re-imported them. PS2 & PS3 went fine.

I thought PS1 had also, but when I would try to do a bulk edit, it would crash LB (see txt).

Now I have found I can delete the platform, close LB, re-open LB and it always brings back the platform. I can't get rid of it. Backups off, delete the Sony Playstation.xml and will re-create it.

How do I get rid of it, so I can try to get this platform fixed.

    Error.txt

    I uploaded logs, not sure which one is which, sorry.Debug 2023-08-31 05-53-36 AM.logDebug 2023-08-31 05-56-27 AM.log

I have a build with about 40 platforms, 3 of them;  Sony Playstation, Sony Playstation 2 & Sony Playstation 3 are displaying nothing. The media is there, paths are pointed correct, anyone know why only these 3 are not displaying anything?

If I click on a game within the broken platform(s), they are displaying correctly.

I figured it out, was my Platforms.xml file

Hopefully you'll figure it out, just know that it won't be this theme causing that kind of issue as it uses the stock vanilla video control with nothing special about it.

Just now getting time to look into it more, your the theme king! I'm gonna post something about the other issue and see if that one can get figured out first. Then I can come back to this one, thanks @Retro808 for replying as well.

Should not be a path issue with the theme. Its coded using standard bindings. Just tested moving videos for a couple platforms (6 in total) to a custom folder and updating the path for videos in LB and theme works fine. I would double check the video path (Edit the platform in LB and make sure in the folders tab the video path is correct). Unsure why only this theme would be an issue.

I might have something screwy going on, my video paths seem ok and other themes are working, but I have noticed an issue in LB where for some reason the media section isn't showing anything for ONLY for Sony Playstation, Sony Playstation 2 & Sony Playstation 3? I reckon I need to try and figure that one out (or post somewhere else about it later)

Works fine here. If you are not using default folder locations did you update LB folder paths for each platform inside of LB?

Yes Sir, only this theme having issue.  Just wanted to see how the update was looking. All my other themes are working fine. Thought maybe it is a path issue in the theme maybe???

  12. Now with v13.6, LB will now allow us to install games you have and that aren't installed from game stores (like Epic) from within LB by clicking the "Install" button in the new default theme.

Does anyone know of a way or is there any way that I can do the same thing for non-store games using a .bat or AHK script to run a bat file or a exe installation file for a game?

The reason I am wanting to do this, is I have 4 or 5 PC's on my LAN, this would make my life so much easier if the users could click on a button to install a game themselves, rather than me having to do it for them. Any ideas and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

That's why it does not fall back to a Default image. You have other priorities. So even in a playlist LB will show Box-3D first, then Box-Full, Box-Front and so one. If it finds none of the ones you have selected then it will show a "Default - Box-3D" image if you have one set for the platform the game is in.

Not sure here. Maybe provide pics of the 2 playlist images. But what I mentioned above is how it should be working.

Thx for hangin' in there Retro. Here is the folder structure I use for my platforms & playlists:

    Untitled.thumb.jpg.d3232e1c5c184ca18ccae62a4d735ac5.jpg

In my Windows "Default 3D Box"  I have this image:

    Windows.thumb.png.93b6727208afedefe30bd3026b2e6d45.png

If the game in the playlist is a Windows game, it is displaying the flat box that is in the Windows "Default Box" instead.

UPDATE: I just figured out why - I had created a generic 2D Box and added it to all the games in question, apparently, this stops the default platform 3D box from showing. It seems you cannot add any "Default" media other than the 4 for a playlist, like the top screenshot in this post

  14. My Recently Added playlist is displaying the correct 3D boxes. So tried to delete the playlist in question (one I'm using to test with) and re-creating it, getting same results, NO 3D boxes??O.o

What does your image priority for Box - 3D look like? If you have other options selected LB will go through those priorities first before using a set "Default" image for that type.

I even have the Box - Front priority set for 3D first like the screenshot

    Untitled.thumb.jpg.3347b6eba1519f89d0a62112dc97fd61.jpg

  16. My playlists are displaying 3D Boxes for all the games if the game itself has one, but they are not falling back to the Default 3D for the particular platform if the game has no artwork, but falling back to the Box - Front instead. Maybe that makes a bit more sense....o.O:)

@The Papaw when you click on that playlist for Hidden Object what does the image group say when you click on "Image Group" in the tool bar? Is it set to "Box- Front"?

Hey @Retro808 I think you are meaning here?

Each game inside of a playlist would take on the default properties of its platform.

For example, if you had a NES game and a SNES game inside of the same playlist, the NES game would show the NES default box while the SNES game would show the SNES default box.

That is what I was hoping would happen, if you mean 3D Boxes as well. I have LB using 3D Boxes as the Image Group. I have a "Default 3D Box" for most of my platforms as well. An example, I have a playlist created for the wife that uses the genre of "Hidden Object". Most of them are Windows games, but not all. But they show "Box - Front" for the particular platform rather than Box - 3D. Maybe that makes more sense.

  19. @JoeViking245 @C-Beats @y2guru @jayjayI love this app, but need a little help. I have created a badge for "partial gamepad support". I works in LB, but it shows both the regular gamepad badge along with my partial badge I created. I can't figure out how to get LB to show only the partial one. Having simliar issues in Bigbox themes I create, I have found a work around in BB using a custom field, but not the best solution. Any pointers guys?

I'm not sure if is the right place, but how we disable the rounded corner (front box) on the default theme 13.6? There is a option in launchbox or we need to edit a file?

I like it, but I think it's a tad bit more than it should be, especially the images that display under the video
