  1. Yeah!!, I import the roms into Launchbox from another folder, However i never experienced that it added a -2, Instead it ads -1-1
  2. That did it, It's getting way over my bedtime. Thank's!!!!!
  3. Hello. Just a little question. If i change the name of the platform, my games will not launch. is it supposed to be like this or do i need the folder path or something??
  4. It's not the screenshots, But the name of the rom. You wouldn't want to play Castlevania -1.nes (That's criminal).
  5. And Launchbox added this (-1) to all the filenames of the roms???, Had to use a bulk-text editor to erase it again.
  6. I just found it weird because it was the same Nes hacks i re-imported again. the first time i imported them it found some box artwork (Which is nice when we are talking about a little over 2000 hacks), Still have to do a lot of the work myself and most likely just smacking a Self-made cover art on most of them (Something simple). Then i ran into some trouble with playlists and launchbox crashes and had to delete some xml files to even launch launchbox again, But this time it was very very slow on importing and found litterely nothing. using a 4gb mobile broadband connection and usually gets aroun 20-30 mbits, And a 20tb HDD which Launchbox is on.
  7. Allright. Just one more thing if it's okay. I'm experiencing that Launchbox behaves differently when searching for metadata, Sometimes it finds almost nothing and is very slow to import my roms, Other times it rapidly imports them and finds a good deal more. Regards.
  8. That was exactly my problem, Installed the previous version in A:/Launchbox/Launchbox (1 to many). But now i'm back at square one with a launchbox that won't launch due to my experimentation with unchecking/checking the parents in the playlist. Is there any hope that i could edit something in Launchbox's ini file, Is it safe to delete the xml files in playlists/platforms ????.
  9. Thank's a lot , Now i get it. I was doing it the opposite way (Just punch me). I got it up and running again, But all my settings are completely gone (Including all the backups). The problem i faced was that when i unchecked parent options in the playlists, Launchbox would crash to desktop and when i launched it again it would crash again as soon as i choose the "Platform Category option". But this time it completely crashed and would not launch again at all, But after the 3 reverting it suddenly launched again, But with everything gone.
  10. Great!!! ican't get Launchbox to launch anymore. Tried Updating and reverting to a previous version, But it will not launch.
  11. I'm very sorry if i sound like i'm fed up with Launchbox. I really reallly really don't understand the way to sort the playlists/platforms bu checking/unchecking the parent under editing, And it makes Launchbox crash if you make a mistake. I'm trying to make a simple list like this : ↓All ↓Consoles ↓Nintendo Console ↓Nintendo Entertainment System (USA) ↓Nintendo Hacked But when i import a new platform, It gets duplicated to also appear between consoles and nintendo consoles, And i only want it to appear under Nintendo Entertainment System (USA). Am i Importing the roms the wrong way??, I manually add the new platform "Nintendo (Hacked) and choose "Nintendo Entertainment System (USA) as it's parent so that it gets placed below that list.
  12. Ok, thank's for your replies (Both of you). Should i just uncheck the scrape function then??, Or should i scrape for something else like Famicom maybe???.
  13. Just wanted to add that it's Nes rom hacks i'm importing, And i used the scrape function for Nintendo Entertainment System before importing them. Also for some reason i haven't been able to search wikipedia for a while with launchbox (I'm getting some errors when i check that option. Besides that all checkboxes are ticked, Including emumovies.
  14. Hi Retro808. Yes, It's my first time trying to set up playlists on the Nintendo Nes platform. I've been trying to manually arranging them in this order : ↓Nintendo console ↓Nintendo Entertainment System (USA) ↓Nintendo (Hacked) And so on (I haven't gotten further than that, Yet!!) So i've been messing around with the parent system and probably screwed something up that made Launchbox crash each time i selected the "Platform category". Each time i had to use a backup to restore things to normal, But now the 3rd time importing the same roms, Launchbox only managed to find 3 images (Out Of many roms) while the first 2 times it found a lot more. And for some reason it also decided to place a -1 after each file name of my games (??????), My guess would be that it's due to importing the same roms several times (I guess). Could you help me with a easy explanation on how to manually sort the playlists/Platforms. Thank you kindly ?
  15. Hi. What is the best settings when searching for metadata before you import roms?? I've been having some problems with my playlists, Which mean i had to import my roms 3 times after using a backup to restore things to normal. 1st time i searched launchbox found around 30% of the images. 2nd time it found about the same. 3rd time it found 3 images and added a -1 after the filename????? LOL. Why are there so big a difference, Are there anything i have to do to reset before importing the same roms again??, I haven't changed search options at all.
  16. Hi agsin. So i kind of figured out how to manage my playlists/Categories, But now Launchbox crashes and closes if i select "Platform category????? I created a new platform called "Nintendo Hacked" but wanted to place it under another category i already created. I'm a bit confused how to manage it, And the 1st time i tried it created duplicate platforms for each one?? Under the platform category i would like it to display it in the following order. ↓ALL ↓Consoles (Can this be removed) ????? ↓Nintendo Entertainment System (USA) ↓Nintendo Entertainment System (Hacked) Can anyone help me a little.
  17. Hi everyone. I wish to create some sub-genres for my Nintendo platform, And i'm in a little doubt on how to do it correctly (Better be safe). I'm not talking about generating child-playlists (Which i already did), But i want to categorize the NES platform into a translated, Japanese and Asian, hacked roms, And lastly a misc section (For those obscure bastards). How do i import roms into a different playlist belonging to the same platform, And what does the "Unique and nested" terms mean?? . What i want is : ↓Nintendo consoles ↓Nintendo entertainment system The 4 sub-categories Thank's for your support.
  18. Hi community. I'm trying at the moment to apply a translation patch for a nes rom, But some roms needs to be expanded if they're going to work with the patch provided. When i launch nflate a command prompt shows with the text "Original rom to be expanded", So what to do then??. If i just apply the Translation patch to the rom it only boots up in a black screen with nestopia, Do you need the original rom? or do you have to use a specific type?. I know i have to expand it from 128kb to 256kb, But how?? Thank's
  19. Okay, I will just revert to 10.7 for the moment. It's just that the text looks a little out of place compared to the size of the image, Until you're getting used to it (Of course). So all the meta-data you downloaded in Launchbox will be used for set-up in Big-Box???, Let's say that some game videos are missing or i have a weird set-up with strange games i can't find the meta-data for, Will i be able to add it myself??.
  20. With launchbox!!. Actually i'm quite interested in buying Big-Box, But i'm very unsure on how it works and interacts with Launchbox (I could really use some simple guides on it). I know there are videos showing Big-box in action, But how do it interact with my set-up on launchbox??, Watched some videos on how to install pre-made setups, But what if you want to customize it yourself (Or just some of it) Gave up on Hyper-spin cause i couldn't afford the brain surgery required for it. (Sorry if my autistic brain goes in over-drive at times)
  21. Hello. I'm experiencing very small text beneath the image of the games with the new update 10.8, is there a way to make it bigger without zooming in?? (makes my covers way to big).
  22. I solved it finally!!!. Had to re-import the rom without selecting any meta-data at all, But somehow Launchbox still managed to find the same number of images for it )But i did not select any??). After manually removing all of them and add my own 5 times, I finally got my will. You stubborn Launchbox ?
  23. Hello beautiful people. Occasionally i stumble upon an issue where Launchbox will simply not let me change the image of a game and stubbornly maintains the pre-image no matter how many times i remove the others to manually choose the one of my choice (And it drives me bonkers after a while), Is there any specific way i can force it through or am i doing it the wrong way??. The exact issue that i'm having is 2 instances of the nes rom "Indiana jones and the last crusade" one is from Taito and the other is from Ubisoft, They are 2 different games but launchbox wants them to be the same. I just downloaded som nice 3d box images from Emu-movies and in there, There are 2 different images for the game. I removed all the images and tried to add my own countless of times now BUT NO!!! Launchbox keeps resetting them, And now i can't for some reason not find the cover i tried to use anymore??? (Can launchbox delete images) ? I know this is a very minor issue, But i'm the perfectionist type and everything has to be spot on (All my games are play-tested). Thank's for taking the time to help me out with my never-ending issues.
  24. Thank's for clarifying that!!, Don't know where i got the idea to move the " from the command line (probably from to much Christmas schnapps i guess) Merry Christmas and a good new year ?
  25. Hi community. I'm trying to set up a few games on retroarch by changing the core from the default one that most of my games use. At the moment i'm trying to change the core to mesen_libretro for Arkanoid on the nes as my default nestopia_libretro core don't have the option of using paddle controls and be able to move in-game, But when i type in the name of the core in custom command-line parameters and check the box the game won't boot until i uncheck it again. Is there any setting i have to turn of in retroarch that i might have missed??, I could use an emulator outside of retroarch, But it's so much easier just using it to manage everything. Regards from Thomas.
