Resolved - Duplicate games not actually getting removed from the DB? - Issue #140

I submitted a BUNCH of removal requests for various duplicate games for NES, SNES and DOS. All of them were approved, however, their entries all remain in the Database. Has anyone else noticed this? I really don't want to re-submit everything...

Confirmed I requested the removal of a duplicate Awesome golf for Atari Lynx and the removal of Air Warrior for 3DO which doesn't exist for that platform. Both removals were accepted but they're both still visible in the database.

Ugh, will review. Sorry guys. Good news is I have all the data so it's almost never a problem where you would have to re-do anything. I'll let you know. It may be a few days though.

@Jason any update on what happened to the duplicate games?

Alright, I *think* I have this fixed. I have deleted all of the games that were approved for deletion, so we're up to date, and I think I've fixed it going forward. Let me know if anyone is still seeing a problem. :)

Hi Jason. I'm still having this issue. Some games that were approved for deletion have actually been removed from the database, but others are still in there after being moderated and accepted for removal.

@Jason Carr The problem seems to be cropping up again. There are quite a few games I recently deleted that re-appeared in the database, only without the images that they had. Same issue as before.

Yes, thanks @FistyDollars. I am aware of this. I can go back and clean it up again, but I still need to troubleshoot what is causing the issues to begin with. I'll be back to this soon; the last time I tried to fix it I had to add logging so I'd be able to track it.

Yeah i found it with snes database, the last days i made a a to z audit, erasing as duplicates all the games that still present because diferences on euro names etc, and they still present but without images.

Actually, quite a few Sega Genesis games haven't been deleted properly.

All the games i deleted from super nintendo database remain.

Yeah I didn't want to say anything for fear of sounding like a nag, but it's totally still an issue. It's especially a problem with Genesis games, where since MegaDrive/Genesis were merged, there's been a LOT of redundant games.

A bunch of games are already deleted but because of database issue, still remain but without image data, Please if you find a duplicated game with no images is one of them. It's already aproved for deletion don't do again until jason manages the issue.

I marked for deletion som games of Genesis and after aprove the deletion still apear in database.

This is critical Jason. Someone are adding again data and images on partially deleted entries.

Maybe until this is fixed, change the game name/title to "zz_delete_duplicate" or  "zz_delete_not_a_game"
