Zeromod
Is this still an issue for you? If so, maybe share your version that you are running of LB/BB and a full error. I've only received an actual launch error once and I just erased my existing XML and chose a backup XML (that Launchbox automatically captures for you) and it was good to go. So maybe try that before getting all crazy with troubleshooting. Edited August 14, 2016 by Zeromod
DOS76
Make sure your .Net framework and Direct X is up to date
Jason Carr
Very sorry for my delayed response on this, @toostrong4u. "Root element is missing" is an XML error and means that most likely your LaunchBox.xml file somehow got corrupted. You should be able to restore a backup from the Backups folder inside of your LaunchBox folder.
OKAMI-aniki
What do you do when you use all back ups and still get the same error?
Jason Carr
What version are you using Okami? If it's 6.10 or 6.11 then the Data folder is used instead of the LaunchBox.xml file in the root.
OKAMI-aniki
I'm on 6.10. Whats the procedure with the Date Folder?
Jason Carr
The Data folder contains a bunch of individual XML files instead of the singular LaunchBox.xml file. The backups folder should provide backups of all the changed files, but it might take some work to figure out which one is causing the problem. Try sorting the backups folder by date and replacing the files using the most recent backups first.
ckp
An xml validator might find the file that has a problem. Here is one site where you can upload xml files to be checked: https://www.xmlvalidation.com
OKAMI-aniki
The XML files in the Data Folder was the culprit. I fixed it, thanks!
