Temp
This morning my son ran updates for Windows 10 on his laptop now when he tries to launch games half of them wont load through Launchbox, the other half have a lot of haze and its like looking through a black veil. He tried to go back to a previous restore point before the updates but it is still not loading all of his games, we searched on the forum but didnt see anything about anyone having an issue similar. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Zombeaver
What do you mean by "a lot of haze"? Can you include a screenshot? I guess it might not be something that would show up in a screenshot though, I'm not sure... Maybe update the video drivers? I found this post while searching for something similar. Admittedly I'm still on W7 so it's kindof a shot in the dark.
Jason Carr
Let us know what emulator(s) you're running @Temp. Sounds like an emulator/driver conflict issue of some sort.
Temp
He is going to try and update his video drivers like Zom mentioned, if that doesn't work we will be back lol. You guys are the best for all the help y'all give. He appreciates it so much.
Temp
Well the video driver update fixed the haze but unfortunately a lot of his games still don't load. He has some work tonight, if anyone has a suggestion as to why they aren't loading please share, .
Maddoc1007
@Temp he could try using one of the LaunchBox xml backups in the LaunchBox Backup folder check the dates and try one of the oldest ones in there, copy it and paste it in the LaunchBox main folder, before deleting everything after xml in the file name, cut his original LaunchBox.xml and place it somewhere else say desktop, now delete everything after xml from the backup xml file you placed in the Launchbox folder and start LaunchBox and see if that fixes his issue.
Zombeaver
Which emulators aren't working?
Temp
Demul and Project64
Temp
Thanks for the suggestion @Maddoc1007. We will try that.
Maddoc1007
@Temp if that doesn't work he can always put his original xml back into LaunchBox.
Zombeaver
What happens if you try to launch them outside of LB - just by themselves.
Temp
Still doesn't load all the games in stand alone.
Temp
It's weird cause after he did the LB update today some of the games loaded again but after he did the driver update earlier it fixed the haze but now none of the games will load in either of those emulators. So confused lol, he's going to try @Maddoc1007 suggestion. We will get back to y'all.
Maddoc1007
Do you mean They are not launching from Demul or PJ64 themselves outside LaunchBox. If so Maybe the Updates broke the Emulators.
Temp
Yes they aren't loading in stand alone or through LB.
Maddoc1007
He may have to fresh install Demul and PJ64 if windows update broke them.
Temp
Ugh, so many issues lol. Hopefully that's not it and your suggestion works. If not I guess Windows jacked it up.
Maddoc1007
Hopefully not but can happen sometimes
Maddoc1007
He should have LaunchBox and his emulators etc backed up on a portable drive and if something like that happens it easy to just put everything back again.
Temp
Yeah he knows, he's still new to all of this. If it wasn't for this forum and all the kind people here he wouldn't have learned so much.
