Giant Updates folder - ok to clear it out?

I have almost 3GB of LB exe files in my Launchbox\Updates folder.

It looks like they might be LB installers of the past.

Is it safe to go ahead and delete ALL of them?

I would sort them by date and keep the last 1 or 2, just in case, cause you never know.

You never know what? Are you saying these files are indeed various LB installer versions? I wiped them all out because I am happy on my current version, and I have a couple installers in my Dropbox anyway. But I do think that is a good idea.

Yea, every time you update a version gets kept in that updates folder just in case.

Bumping an old thread because it seems vary relevant.  I just checked my /updates/ folder and its 17 GB in size!  Would it be possible to add in a automatic cleanup routine?   (maybe with an automatic roll back option as well, if you're going to keep a few older installers around?  although I have never had to roll back.)

My folder has a whole bunch of named installers (LaunchBox-7.10-beta-2-Setup.exe for example), then a bunch of GUID based files (e4fb21bf-803e-4977-bb89-666cc2eceb3c.exe for example).   I'm assuming these are all safe to delete?

they are safe to delete. and the copies should be limited to never exceeding 2-4 files in my opinion.

Yep safe to delete, I personally always keep the last stable and the last beta though just in case.

Also the ones with the long codes are just very old updates from before they were specifically named with the version No.

Yeah those with the long and stupid names are old and very much safe to delete.
