Lordmonkus
Do you have Mame set up as an emulator in Launchbox and is it set to be associated with the Arcade platform ?
jonedc
Yes it seem like the zip file doesn't point to the emulator
neil9000
It looks like launchbox may be trying to unzip your roms, mame needs them zipped. Have you checked if this is the case? If you go to manage emulators and double click mame there is a checkbox to unzip before loading a rom make sure that is "UNCHECKED" like in this screenshot. jonedc
I unchecked thoses boxes and even unzipped the files (4) to the same folder where the games are pointing to . still get the 7 unzip extracting box. it should be a 32bit MAME correct? neil9000
32bit if you are on 32bit windows, x64 if you are on 64bit windows. Can I see a shot of your mame screen in the manage emulators box? Rather than taking shots with a phone or whatever you are using, you can hold the windows key and press the print screen key that will take a screenshot and save it to pictures/screenshots, that's how I took that shot above. Just makes it easier to read.
DOS76
Really if you have 32bit MAME on 64bit PC it will still work but it sounds like you aren't pointing to an emulator and it is just trying to unzip the same as it would if you clicked the file in Windows Explorer
Lordmonkus
If we could see the details for your Mame emulator in Launchbox that would be really helpful.

Hence why I asked for the screenshot.

DOS76
do the games work outside of LB in MAME
Lordmonkus
I see what's going on, or at least what it looks like. You aren't pointing to Mame but rather the downloaded self extracting zip file. When you try and run the game it's running the exe and it's in turn trying to extract the program. You need to run the mame.exe to extract it to where you want it installed to. jonedc
OK so I think I have it pointing to right MAME.exe file when I try to launch the game the screen goes black for a second then takes me right back to launchbox desktop
Lordmonkus
You probably have not set your rompaths for Mame. Here is a tutorial I did for Mame setup for people new to Mame.
