MESS Help

Hi Guys,

hoping someone can help me out.

I have a full MAME list (mess) romset and bios set. I've downloaded MAME 0.185.

I cannot seem to get rca studio 2 working alone, through LaunchBox or RocketLauncher.

Mame will open but immediately close. This makes me think I have a bios issue.

Is there a folder structure I need to follow? I have the roms in their own folder and I put the MAME list roms in the roms folder of MAME. I've also added the rca studio 2 roms directory and my MAME arcade roms directory.

Not sure what I'm missing.

any help is appreciated.

Ultimately i want to to run in RocketLauncher because i like fades and bezels - but i cant even get it to run standalone so i need to fix that issue first then get it running in launchbox then i can mess with rocketlauncher.

I'm thinking i have a bios issue or folder structure issue

I don't have my MAME rom set to check right now, or I would. X_X So a few things to remember, the rom set needs to be in your MAME/roms folder, or you tell it where the full package is. You'll also need to set up the associated platform default command line parameters like RetroArch, console name and command line. You may need to try a few different command lines. This depends on the system, but some have a few different kinds. You also don't need to use the software list rom sets if you have other rom sets, but I guess that depends on the system. Some systems may not have other rom sets, or in the case of CD-i I could only get it working with the CHD software list set.

Thanks Brad - I did the command line studio2 -cart and it seems to work because MAME loads and loads the game, but then i get a flickering screen.

I'm hoping someone who has rca studio ii up and running will chime in.

I see it all over hyperspin setups so i know for a fact people get it to work.
