Lordmonkus
Open up a NeoGeo game, doesn't matter which one. Press F1 on your keyboard to bring up the Retroarch GUI, go to Quick Menu then Controls. Scroll a little til you see on the left "User 1 Button A" and so on. The left column is the actual NeoGeo controls and the right column is your controller buttons. Go to each button and push left or right on the d-pad til you got your buttons the way you want. Once you have the buttons the way you want scroll back up and little and look for "Save Core Remap File". Everything should be good now. Should. johnnyskullhead
is that on all versions of retroarch , think i am using 1.41 ? Thanks
Lordmonkus
Yes, though I highly recommend upgrading to 1.6.0 Retroarch. It is very good and stable and raw input is extremely nice for lower input latency.
johnnyskullhead
so if I update which files do I need to move across ? I remember Sentaibrad moving files across so all your settings etc work
Lordmonkus
Hmm you could probably get away with either just grabbing the updated exe and dropping it right in your Retroarch install folder but just for safety sake make a copy of your current RA folder and do that. Here is Brads video on how to update Retroarch:
johnnyskullhead
Cheers Matey At work at mo but will have a go later
neil9000
You could use this to update retroarch, it's what i use and works really well. It will update to stable or nightlies, your choice, it will also update cores if there is a newer version and there is also a option to just download the redist if you need that as well. DOS76
Also if you do just drop the exes in and it doesn't work then you should try getting the redist next before going back to to your backup.

neil9000
Although question stands, if you are using mame that option wont be there.
Lordmonkus
Yeah Mame would be different. With Mame you would be better off using the "Mame menu" you get when pressing Tab.

johnnyskullhead
Hi sorry is fba Appears it was corrupt Trying from scratch with1.60 But now will only run from retroarch itself no games will run via launchbox
Lordmonkus
Then it's something in your emulator settings in Launchbox like a bad or missing command line parameter or something.
neil9000
You will need to tell your roms to use the newer version, bulk edit them and try again.
