Mame 1.92

Hello,

I am trying to setup MAME 192 but using the UI instead of the command line version.  I have the command line version working 100% but would like to have the User friendly UI that Mame has in past version. Is this available for Mame 192?

I dont use mameui but a quick search found it here . 192 download is the 4th line in yellow.

New issue, When I launch MAME UI, I get a black windowed screen and a bong sound (like an error), any ideas?

Are you using the MameUi or the MameUIFX Arcade version newyears1978 linked? I moved away from these long ago as they tend to have issues as other front ends evolve. 

Also is this happening direct from the exe or when through Launchbox (or RocketLauncher/Launchbox combo)?

yup.  I decided to give up and go back to MAME 1.77, just not worth the struggle on my end to remove a OK nag.  Thanks though!

I believe the UI version needs the mame.ini file to be copied out of the .ini folder and placed in the root folder.

Thanks bro.  Maybe I come back to it some day.  Mucking around with trying to get Rocketlauncher configured.  Oh boy.. Ughhhhhh.  lol

I am still on the last version of mameuifx before he stopped.  But it's a no-nag version compiled by someone else.  No reason to switch, as all the games I'm interested in have been working well since 2000 lol.

Thanks Dos and Retro!  I went back this morning and took another crack at it and BOOM!  It works!  Nice to get away from 1.77 and all the roms are available for 1.92 as you stated.  

If anyone needs help with a MAME 1.92 NO NAG you can go here to get the emulator and NO NAG.  Happy New Year everybody!  and Thanks AGAIN.
