subatomic09
I'm using beetle PSX HW and I can't figure out how to get games to recognize input from my Logitech F710. It works in Retroarch menus and my other cores, but not Playstation. Any help would be great. Thanks! Lordmonkus
Check in the core options > controllers and see if your controller is selected there.
subatomic09
In Quick Menu > Controls, I have Analog Controller selected for User 1 Device Type. My only other options are things like Guncon/G-Con 45, Analog Joystick, Justifier, Mouse, neGcon, Playstation Controller, and DualShock. Chumpalot
Youll need to check in the core options also. Load up a PSX game and bring up the retroarch menu. Check the settings under Options. These are core speciifc settings.
subatomic09
I've looked through the Quick Menu > Options, and there is nothing I see that relates to controllers other than something about Multitaps on Port 1 or 2.
damageinc86
Are you attached to retroarch? Because the standalone mednafen recognizes anything I throw at it. Just have to press alt+shift+the player number and then set the controls on screen.

Hunter_ARG
Check the switch is xinput. Reinstall the driver.
subatomic09
I've now tried a brand new PS4 controller, works with every other core, and it works with some of my PS games but not all of them. Same goes for my iBuffalo SNES Classic. I don't get it. Edited March 27, 2018 by subatomic09
DOS76
could it be because some PS1 games need different controllers like some supported Dual Shock others didn't in RA I know you can switch to what type of controller you are trying to emulate

For games like Symphony of the Night, I have to switch the Controls to "PlayStation Controller" instead of "DualShock." Dude, thank you. This has been driving me nuts! Chumpalot
Ah. This had given me a headache when trying to play Metal Gear Solid. The analog controls weren't working and I had to switch to Dualshock. I then noticed that another game (Final Fantasy 7) was completely unresponsive to all controls and so had to switch it back. Glad you got it sorted. Anyone know if there is a way to get around having to manually change this setting per game? Cheers.
DOS76
You can set a per game override so it will change it for a particular game only so you wouldn't have to keep changing them back when the next game needed a different controller type. You would still need to change them and save the override when ever you came across a game not supporting default controller type. 1

Thank you.

subatomic09
Now my newest problem is the DS4 not working when connected via Bluetooth in Retroarch. It works if the "User 1 Device Index" is set to "XInput Controller (User 1)" but not if it's set to "DualShock 4 Controller." But if I have the controller plugged in via USB, then I can set it to "DualShock 4 Controller (#1)." I'd like to be able to play wirelessly and have Retroarch use the correct button names, like "Cross" instead of "A" and "Square" instead of "X". Is there something else I can do?
