AlmightyTurboman
I recently bought a Sony 4k tv. After hooking up my pc with bigbox on it, I noticed all of my retroarch games were running at half speed. I fixed this by changing my crt shader from royale to zfast. I am alright with this change except when it comes to my Gameboy games. I miss playing them with the Gameboy borders. Is there anything I can do to get all of these shaders running full speed, or at least the Gameboy ones. Thanks for any help!
Lordmonkus
What kind of graphics card do you have ? Shaders rely on your GPU and when you are running in 4K it requires more power than at 1080.

Kondorito
Take a look at this topic of new potato friendly shaders for the game boy family: https://forums.libretro.com/t/simple-textured-shader-for-non-backlit-lcd-systems-gbc-etc/15520

Yeah it's unlikely to have the power to drive a more system intensive shader at 4K, it might be able to do the lighter weight ones though, you will just have to test them out and see. Atleast I now know the cause of the problem and will try these simple shaders
Lordmonkus
Emulation itself is generally CPU dependent but shaders rely on the GPU, some shaders are heavier than others and demand a dedicated GPU without murdering the performance.
