Doesn't Install 8.6-Beta-5 Automatically after Download

I'm currently on version 8.6 beta-1. When I open LaunchBox it prompts me that a new beta is available. After the download is completed LaunchBox closes but no install occurs. If I navigate to the LaunchBox directory then the Updates folder, I can see that 8.6-beta-5 setup exe was downloaded.

Is it safe to install the new beta by clicking on the installer from within windows explorer? I don't want to risk it wiping my current LB library!

try going to the update folder and reinstalling the latest installer again right over top of your current one it won't overwrite any of your data if that doesn't work install the last installer that was stable for you. If you are downloading Beta versions there are always chances you can run into issues.

Try rebooting, and try going back to the official 8.5 release. Honestly, I'm doubtful that the issues you're having have anything to do with the betas, but that would be a good test. It might be faulty drivers or something of that nature, so I would check to see if any drivers were updated or Windows updates were installed recently.

This was happening to me as well. Going into the LaunchBox install folder(typically C:\Users\****\LaunchBox\Updates\  .. with the **** being your logged in username) and manually installing the most recent beta, you should be good to go after that.

If you also happen to run into the odd issue that I did where LaunchBox seems to load but you don't see the full windows; I closed and reopened a few times until I noticed the top window bar was still there and I had to double click(or right click) to make maximize both windows before they were fully visible. I closed LaunchBox and reopened two or three times and it seemed to be fine after doing it that one time. This could entirely be something I mistakenly did myself, but just thought i'd share in case it happened to others.
