Lag when browsing with joystick

Hello guys!

 

I'm having serious lag when using joystick to browse through games, but this lag is absolutely absent when using the keyboard, what can be wrong?

 

I tried using a ps4 joystick with DS4 driver and a 8bitDO with the same result.

Specs:  W10, 8GB of ram, i5 7500 CPU + 1060 6GB

Are you using the latest stable build or beta ? Jason is currently working on this issue and there has been some work done on this in the latest betas though I have no idea if they are fixed for people having this problem or not, it's not one that I experience.

sadly still have this issue, how can it be that only with joystick the browsing has lag?

with the keyboard works wonders, even with no image cache!

The latest version of LB should have a fix for this.

Hey Lordmonkus, thanks for writing back.

You mean 8.7? I was just testing it and it has the same issue.

I was looking for options and I tought about installing joy2key in order to map the joystick inputs to keyboard's, so I did and tested it... works perfectly, no lag whatsoever.

 

But obviously this is not an ideal solution, just a workaround for the problem.

I'll tag @Jason Carr so he can maybe respond.

I know some people such as yourself were having this issue but it's not one I experienced much with testing (I rarely use BigBox). It was worked on and supposedly fixed based on feedback.

Meanwhile I'll try with other joysticks I have around (since right now I was using a DS4)

I have also the same delay into bigbox using my arcade Sticks .  (8.7 version)

No delay with keyboard.

My joysticks are  Usb dragonforce   (common named as  Usb Zero Delay  pcb).....

I still have this problem also. 360 controller in my case.

It is known this still exisits in someway. Please see this thread. Jason did work on it. I am not sure it was completely fixed as a couple said it was better but still laggy.

Still having the same problem, the keyboard works perfectly, but  the joystick lags sometimes :(

 

I tried with the PS4 joystick and now I'm using a 8bitdo (wired) with the same results.

I too still have this problem. I am running 9.5 BigBox on my arcade. When I browse with keyboard, it's lightning fast and responsive. With joystick, sometimes it misses inputs. In game (MAME) I have no lag or missed button presses. 

Is there any update to this in the most recent betas? Is there a bug tracker for this?
