Retroarch Crashes when opened through Launchbox only when I use hdmi

Hi guys !

My setup of Launchbox/Bigobox is all fine on my computer and I can launch all platforms and play my games without any issues.

Things get annoying for me when I want to play my games on my Tv through HDMI. Here is why :

I can play all games when I use stand alone emulators (snex9, yabause, epsxe, etc.) except when I choose to play them through Retroarch. This multiplatform emulator works fine when I use it on my computer but crashes when my computer is connected through hdmi to my tv !

I searched on the forums and googled this problem but no one seems to have that issue 

Can anyone please help me solve this problem since I don’t want to configure stand alone emulator for each platform. It’s a lot more convenient to play my games and platforms using just retroarch

Its not a bug in Launchbox, we have thousands of users using Retroarch just fine. So it is specific to your system.

Hello, 

I built a win 10 pc with DeskMini from asrock. Everything works fine on my pc screen. When I put it on my LG oled. Retroarch starts with black screen and crashes. But only if I open it through launch box. I have an older Panasonic plasma TV. There it works also fine.

A quick  search of Launchbox threads found this. Maybe try what CDBlue mentions in his post.

I searched the whole troubleshoooting Thread and found this, whats similar to my Problem but thank u!

 

I have just the TV pluged in no other Monitor. And retroarch is crashing with black screen.

Ok I tried different HDMI Ports, but it dint solve the Problem. I gonna try with updatet AMD Driver and tell u wthere it worked.

Updating the graphics driver solved the problem. Thanks all for the support!

update 2: Well its a little more complicate: I have to deplug the HDMI than plug in and run the game fast after pluggin in. Than retroarch doesent crash. When starting another game u have to redo everything otherwise the game crashes again.
