Need some help with BigBox

I am fairly new to LaunchBox and big box but I am very fluent with a computer and the retro game stuff

I recently installed both lb and bb and bought the premium license for it so I could use all the features and everyone on line says it is the best front end out there right now.  I have 2 problems I am trying to solve.

1st issue when I try to launch any of my games from big box it starts to load and then retroarch crashes.  If I launch them directly in retroarch everything runs fine.  If I launch them from big box again everything runs fine. These crashes are only happening when trying to launch them from big box.

2nd issue when I launch a game through LaunchBox and the couple I have gotten to launch in big box when I quit game it only exits to retroarch and then I have to shut retroarch down to get back to LaunchBox or big box is there a way to quit games and have it go back to LaunchBox or big box instead of having to shut down Retroarch

not sure what other information you need the computer I am using is a mini-pc with a intel Quad core processor and 4 gb of ram I know it is not a gaming computer but it has been running retroarch and all the games I play on it great for quite some time I mainly run mame arcade Nintendo sega and PlayStation 1 games on it with retroarch but nothing beyond that because of the capabilities of this pc thank you in advance for any help you can give me

Hey @rickz1222 and welcome to LaunchBox!

Could use a bit more information from ya to help you figure out what is going on. Could you answer the following for me?

Does running the game through LaunchBox work or are you seeing the same problems there?
What Platform is the game associated with inside of LaunchBox?
While extension is your ROM file? Is it compressed? If compressed, what files are in the archive?
What Retroarch core are you running for that platform?
Does Retroarch have anything in the log file that may help (\\Retroarch\log\retroarch.log [or at least last I knew])?

C-Beats thanks for responding the answer to your first question is the games launch fine in LaunchBox it is only Big Box that is causing the problem answer #2 it is just about every platform but my mame arcade roms all of my roms are in a zip folder for less space and they have always worked perfectly with retroarch by itself I know all my cores and paths are good because I have been running retroarch by itself for quite some time now with no issues I just checked the retroarch log and there is nothing there C-Beats with your questions it got me thinking about something when I imported my roms into LaunchBox I chose the option to have LaunchBox copy the rom files to the LaunchBox games folder do you think I should start from scratch again and when I import the roms have it just keep them in their current location.  The main reason why I am giving LaunchBox and big box a try is it will be easier for the kids to use, and it looks so much better than just the plain old retroarch screen

Per the first issue, if things are launching successfully in LaunchBox, but not Big Box, then most likely the issues have to do with the startup screens. The first thing I would try is turning off startup screens in Big Box under Options > Game Startup > Enable Startup Screen. Does that fix it?
