Migrating save states to Android?

I am wondering if it's possible to take a save state file (in this case created by Kega Fusion) and use it in Launchbox for Android (currently using MD.EMU)?

I have the .srm and .gs0 files from a Windows based Kega Fusion install and copied them over to my roms folder for Genesis on my Nvidia Shield, but when I try to load a saved state, it is still greyed out in md.emu

It would be nice if I could figure this out as I really don't want to start certain games from scratch if I can avoid it.

State files are usually only usable in the emulator they were created in.

Thanks for the response. I kinda figured that was maybe the case, but since they both use the same save state file format that maybe it would be possible.

It probably is possible to do manually, but would require a different approach for every emulator, and sometimes save states don't work between different architectures and sometimes they do, even when using the same emulator. So it's not something we can do automatically, but you *might* be successful if you did some research and copied them over manually.

This is why I prefer retroarch if at all possible for all my emulation.. it keeps all saves and states in one place, then I just use autosync (another app) to sync all my saves and states to google drive.  This has worked awesome for years.  I can go to any tv (shield tv) in my house and pickup where I left off in the other room.  Or I take my phone on the road and have the same thing, all saves in sync still.  You gotta try it! It really makes a world of difference.  I won’t run any other device unless it supports android (or another OS google drive works on) for this reason.
